  1. I've never been here in july - but the guides were saying its worse than normal and the traffic on the road by the ferry was a nightmare

no seaweed anywhere.  we were on the carribean side, and i went scuba diving in the bay.

Due to being in the sec, South Carolina and Missouri are a national brand, said nobody from South Carolina or Missouri ever.

Or Ark, Miss st, Ole Miss, vandy, tenn, and kentucky (in football)

  3. Just got back from 7 days.  Rented a house about mid island on carribean side - it was hot, but so is houston.   Just moved from pool at house or beach so no biggie.

Scuba with the kids on monday - at the reef and the MUSA

whale shark on wed - they said it was the most sharks they have seen all season, and the official count was 143 of them, so while there were a bunch of boats out there, we were able to hang to the side with one or two other boats and had our own group.   it was cool.

And did all the normal drink/eat at the normal places the rest of the time.    Always great.

The main "problem" this time was there were 2x number of day trippers from cancun because of their seaweed beach problem.   "Get off my fucking island you fucking tourists" i thought more than once.

  4. I'm not a huge rolex guy, but was about to suggest a coke/pepsi pre ceramic GMT for under 10k, but fuck they are 11k now.   This one has both bezels and asking is 11k- so maybe you can get it closer to 10k.   If you are okay with an older watch.   They will always be cool.

Not suggesting that particular one, im not an expert on rolex - just an example.

Great watch, but I would hold out for a later model with maltese cross bracelet.

yah post 2010 have the nicer dial as well, but is about 4k more.    trying to stay under 10.

  6. I like the move.   the first indication Cal isn't his dad.

Gaine was their 5th-6th choice, they obviously (hopefully) got word that the person they wanted last year is interested.

Pay no attention to these first few interviews (rooney rule).

However, I do hate all the patriots south crap - the patriots haven't drafted or managed their personnel particularly well.    Bill and Tom are just that good at making chicken shit into super bowls.  But sure, lets go get their coaches and front office people.

  7. Elvis at the HLS&R in 1974, i was 6.    I kinda remember.

My first real concert was the Who in the Summit in 1980 when i was 12/13 - it was in the summer and parents wouldn't let me go, so i spent the night at a friend's house and went with him and his older sister and her friends.

    Got high for first time.

Parents later found out i went (a few weeks later) and i was grounded, but was worth it because i didn't have to hide my t-shirt anymore and could wear it to school like a boss the next year.

  8. i did an Alaska cruise last year.   Went with a group of friends.   Went on bad ass excursions that i found - helicopter rides landing on glaciers.   Drank a lot.   was fun.

I thought the passengers where pretty upscale, although old - after 9pm the ship was all ours.

Im sure the quick ones out of galveston are quite a bit different.

  9. I dont love the pick - however, i'm not going to claim to have watched a second of Alabama St. film.     It is concerning that he is labeled a project and that i get the feeling that they are happy with the idea of "well at least no matter what he can be a guard"

If I'm Cal, i would pull Brian and BOB into my office and ask them.

    1.  Where on their board did they have the tackles rated.

    2.  If there was a gap between Philly's new tackle and ours, i would know there was a process problem and that probably i don't have the right guy leading my team that would allow Philly to jump us for the guy we really wanted.

    3.  If there was not a gap (one rated a 92 and one rated a 91.75 for example) then i will know if it doesn't work out that its an evaluation problem.

And as they walked out of my office, i would say simply "okay - you better be right., you will find i'm not nearly as forgiving as my dad was"
