Kamilla is every bit the strategist that Kyle is.  It's why they work so well together.  Kyle ended up in the more public role of being in the big and strong alliance because he is big and strong, but it would be a mistake to discount the game Kamilla has played.  I hope one of them wins.

if they both make the final three, kyle still wins.  shes his behind the scenes partner but that still means he was doing most of the work and more deserving of the win.  her role is to keep quiet, be sheepish, and pretend she's not in an alliance.

    ^^^ 2 idols, if IIRC.

Mary put up the best fight she could and managed to get fairly far in the game.  I'm good with Eva, Joe, Mitch or Kyle.  The other 2 not so much.

kamilla has played the most interesting game i think ive ever seen.  on the surface its poor me, i'm not in an alliance, i'm on the bottom, but in reality she has orchestrated move after move.  i dont think she'll win.  theyve kept her around only because they dont realize shes a threat, but if she ends up in the final three shes going to kick their ass.

The wife and I are moving to an apartment a stone's throw from Brackendridge Park.  Seems to be a nice older area, and the manager pointed out we will be within walking distance to "the Pearl district."   Anybody know of good spots to eat near Brackenridge Park?

Agreed.  I guess the others are content with finishing 3rd or worse.

I was 90% sure it was joe.  what a bunch of dumbasses.  they may never get a better chance.  if eva gets any wind of it she will play her idol on him.  they had her hoodwinked perfectly.  my prediction is kyle and kamilla call the next vote.  mitch, and joe or shahin get looped in to blindside the other.  one of those two have to go next.

Down in the Valley for work this week. Grabbed dinner to go from Ana Liz Taqueria. Tacos were good, the charros beans were some of the best I've ever had.

the tacos were great.  we ordered 8 different ones for 3 people and split them.  my only regret is we didnt order all that were on the menu.  they were all excellent.  we had the corn nibs and chips and salsa so did not try the charro beans.  next time.

  7. had a fantastic trip last wed-sat.  stopped at choke canyon along the way and dug the park. saw about 10 wild turkeys grazing in the campground.  breakfast in three rivers sucked.  from there to a friends restaurant in edinburg for lunch, then on to the art museum in mcallen, la lomita, and then on to the national butterfly center.  had supper at ana liz taqueria (james beard winner and texas monthly top 50 taco).  rented a 4-bdrm house in mission for $200/night with a pool.  great house!  next morning was bentsen state park then teddys bbq.  both excellent.  teddy's is well-deserving of their top 50 ranking - as good if not better than leroy and lewis and tejas in tomball. then hit santa ana wildlife refuge and quinta mazatlan.  more wild turkeys at bentsen, kiskadees, chacalacas, green jays all over, inca doves, orioles, and caracawa at bentsen. supper that night was mi genta (top 50 taqueria).  fri was back to my friends place in edinburg for breakfast, laguna acosta wildlife refuge, across the border to progresso (for maybe an hour max), spacex, vera's bbq (top 50 bbq and top 50 tacos).  every restaurant i ever ordered barbacoa there was just one listing on the menu - barbacoa.  vera's has 20 different kinds - mixta, lamb, brains and eyes, and on and on.  we had 4 kinds and i wish i had the other 16.  all outstanding.  supper that night in harlingen at some old seafood place from the 50's.  had the whole flounder and it was top notch.  next day stopped in kingsville at the king ranch museum and saddle shop, then on to san antonio and home.

its an area of the state i'd never been to and well worth a visit. i plan on going back.

been to billy and southside.  southside is better. theres another one down the road in ellinger, next to hruska's.  its not worth a stop either.

  10. of the four posters thus far that responded, i seem to be the only one that liked it.  i actually considered it above average.  there are a lot of borderline psychotics out there dealing with anxieties and mental health issues.  jack nicholson's character in good as it gets is another example.  they may be having a hard time functioning but they have a warm side too.

So... Who is going to take over when the old guy dies or gets knocked?

There has to be an actual smart person for us to be concerned about, right?

I'm concerned about the villains, but they will fuck up their own plans... I'm worried about the evil person. Who is it?

And where is everyone going? I need to look into some alternate spots, just to be safe.

musk or vance.  both will run.

If I made a list in the category "shittiest songs by great bands", about 5 of these would be on the list.

well, thats just like your opinion, man.   but maybe i misunderstood the category.  if it was pick your 10 favorite rock and roll songs, you probably wouldnt have heard of any of mine.  if it was pick the top 10 rock and roll songs, any list without stairway to heaven, freebird, and hotel california on it is not a legitimate list.  thats just the facts, man.  no debate about it.

  14. stairway to heaven - led zep

    freebird - skynrd

like a rolling stone - dylan

beast of burden/gimme shelter - stones

    get back/hey jude - beatles

    like a hurricane - neil

    american girl - petty

    hotel california - eagles

    comfortably numb - pink floyd

    bohemian rhapsody - queen

  15. i'm still havent fully come to grips with the fact that trump won.  i'm not saying stop the steal, or that we should enter 16 lawsuits to challenge the results, and lose all 16 like some would do. but the fact is he lost to hillary by 3 million votes.  he lost to biden by 7 million votes.  how is it there was a 9 million vote swing in the country?  i have a hard time believing that.  sure, there was the typical republican shenanigans - some gerrymandering, some firing of election officials, some "election monitors" put in place.  but you dont get 9 million votes out of that.  there are a certain number of votes you lose because some people, regardless of party, believe a woman shouldnt be president.  there are a certain number of votes you lose because some people, regardless of party, believe a person of color shouldnt be president.  but you dont get 9 million votes out of that either.

in my opinion, the election was lost after the disaster of the first debate.  biden showed he was not capable of being president.  yet our whole party, and 150 million+ americans, were all set to support him.  disaster.  total incompetence.  a party excited about leading the country does better vetting than that.  i believe even kamala would have won had biden stepped down, enthusiastically given the reins to her, and she participated in the first debate.  changing the horse in midstreams showed disfunction within the party and caused voters to lose faith.this

conservative policies have never been popular in this country.  this is not a conservative country.  the last time a republican presidential candidate won the popular vote was w in 2004, 20 yrs ago. congress is an example of how evenly split the country is.  it could go either way every election.  whats ignorant is when you do win, to say you have a mandate.  51% of the votes is not a mandate.  thats like winning a football game because the other team went for two and didnt make it.   you take the win, but dont brag about it.  if youre smart, you go to the boardroom and figure how you almost lost and how to get better.  you won because the other team screwed up.

he is my president and i will support him.  i wont leave the country, i wont wish for him to fail  i want america to excel and be a beacon of light and hope for the world.  i may not have full faith in rodney terry, but i want us to win.  what i think will happen, is the republicans will shit the bed, and the dems will come in in 4 years to clean it up.  already grocery prices are going up, and they will just go up more, as will the price of goods overall, after tariffs kick in.  already there are ramifications of the massive government layoffs in air traffic safety.  there will be more.  letting food inspectors go is just another example.  if i'm wrong, and he has the blueprint to success that he thinks he has, then the gop may never lose another election.  this is their shining moment, the best opportunity theyve ever had.  they have the house of reps, senate, white house, and supreme court.  if conservative policies are good for the country we'll be in fantastic shape in 4 years.  who believes that will happen? who's willing to wager?  theyve never had a better chance to show they can lead.  i would say after this first week, theyre off to a rocky start.
