  1. q is unstable and needs to go.  after throwing the whole tribal council into chaos he ended up not getting one vote.  he deserved to get all of them.

Stagg Jr and SFTB are the best value vs secondary, but that kosher rye is such a banger.  Hard pass on the Elijah tossed ass.

sftb would be my pick.  its the rarest of those listed. coincidentally, its the only one i dont currently have on my shelf.

Jem, Jem, Jem.  Oh well.  I guess that's the first person to go this season for being a threat, though if you go home with an idol in your pocket were you actually a threat?

there was apparently a lot the producers chose to edit out.  what we saw is maria telling charley she trusted jem more than rockandroll dick, and thats how they left it.  i got the impression charlie was swayed to vote with her but the opposite happened.  but whats peculiar is she was so convinced that she played both votes on jem.  she could have saved that for a much more crucial time (down to 6 players).  why play it now when it makes little difference whether jem or rockandroll dick goes home?  wont help her in the jury.  just wasnt a crucial time.  still, fucking the tribe over by burying the box was deceitful, so justice was served.  on top of that, she lobbied too hard, talked too much, leading up to tribal.  she should have laid low, unless everyone already knew she was the one that hid the box.  thats what i'm thinking and they just edited that out so we'd be in suspense.

I’m going to continue to bang the drum for Australia Survivor. I just finished binging season 11 and I’d put it in the top 10 best Survivor seasons. Good cast, gameplay and challenges. The host is fine but he’s no Probst. It’s a long watch though. 24 initial tribemates, 24 episodes, 47 days on the island.  I’m going to move on to season 2 if I can find it. It’s considered the best season of  the Australian series.

is there any nudity in that version?

That whole Yanu tribe sucks.  Terrible at challenges and none of them are very likeable....

it seems every season as of late has had one tribe start off with an extensive losing streak.   would make for an interesting study in the human psyche.  they were so close to winning but jess was helpless.  the funny thing is they might have won had they had zelinsky.  tiff should have called q out on that.  she wanted jess out but he was adamant that zelinsky go instead.  that cost them the challenge.   usually weak physical players are at least good at something else - either smart, like puzzles, or at the social game.  jess was 0  for 3.  one of the worst players in the history of the show.

there are some likable characters this season and i'm looking forward to the other tribes losing an immunity challenge so we can get to know them better.  there are also some characters i'm not sure i like - soda for example.  i want to like her. she seems sweet and caring and tries hard, but those camp songs would make me want to sleep by myself on the beach.  the rock and roll dude also seems a tad annoying.  i feel bad for the iranian chick but she does seem to have a diva mentality so most of it is self-inflicted.  my least favorite, at least in the little i've seen, is liz.  oops, i meant the one and only liz.  what the hell is going on with her?  why is she constantly bragging about how much money or how many companies or how many podcasts?  seems like she's hiding something with all the bragging.

You do know I lived in Houston for 12 years, right?  Left in 2019, thank goodness given the shit going on in Texas since 2019.

seems like you've been in ny longer than that.  yes, it had started to become a foodie destination by 2019.  probably a little moreso now but what isnt?

London trip on March 16 is all booked.  Then Paris for the weekend at the end.

While in London, I will be working a lot, but trying to make time for some outstanding meals.  Will hit up The Devonshire for an early Sunday dinner.  Monday night, I have dinner booked at Chishuru (the new one), though that one could change if my friend is up for meet up.  Tuesday, a colleague and I are hitting Brunswich House.  Wednesday is open so far.  Thursday, heading to The Grazing Goat in Marylebone to catch up with a bunch of former colleagues.

I am trying to get things signed off on Thursday before I leave so I can fuck off to Paris early on Friday.  Staying at Le Roch, where I always stay.  Hitting up Lafayette's for dinner on Friday.  Lafayette's is a new Mory Sacko restaurant in the former home of the Marquis de Lafayette, which is also now a hotel.  The space looks amazing.  I have my fingers crossed that a last minute cancellation means I can get into MoSuke, but this is a grand back up plan.

Doing lunch Saturday at Juveniles, with Saturday dinner open for now.  Then Sunday, I fly back to NYC around 4 PM with a layover in London (a very short one, so my BA status will be helpful!).

The second trip to London will be in April, and will be until we have our UK auditors sign our UK accounts.  Afterwards, I am still trying to decide where to fuck off to.  I was going to go to Rome, but there is a national holiday smack dab in the middle of that where everything closes.  So then have thought about Vienna, but I think I want some sun.  Looking into South of Spain or Portugal at the moment, but nothing booked on this trip at all.  And 3rd time in London this year will be in Mid-June when a new member of my team joins.  I will at that point have 5 employees in London vs. 1 in NYC and 1 in Houston.  For that one, I have no idea what I am doing.

houston is becoming quite the foodie town.  you might be surprised.

  11. Not necessarily for catfish but there are two other great Cajun places up north - one on burnet and 183, and another in Hester’s crossing called ya’lls.

  12. Rolling rooster on wells branch and mopac. Maybe it’s red rooster. Funny thing is the sign on the back of the building, the only thing you can see heading north on mopac, says chicken and waffles.

Agreed. Took the wife to his show recently, her take away “good lord he’s way too young to be that dark, get him a therapist”… couldn’t but both laugh and agree.

They are both funny guys but not the happiest songs come out. Bruce said he writes sad songs and slightly faster sad songs.

the first song townes ever wrote when he first got married was "waitin around to die".  i'm sure fran loved that.

Legit one of the worst players the show has ever seen.  So bad that it was incredibly entertaining.  Legendary performance by Jelinsky.

it just seems like the producers are not vetting well.  the dude on lithium, someone that misses home after one day.  i guarantee the person that cant sleep, and the person thats allergic to everything will be gone in no time. you gotta be tougher than this.   jelinsky's could have been a player and stuck it out.  he was great in challenges, where he screwed up was putting himself out there.  he volunteered for the sweat challenge, volunteered for the journey, volunteered to do the puzze.  he was terrible at all three.  some delusion going on.  i dont think he realized he wasnt as great as he thought he was, and the producers should be able to weed out the delusional bullshitters so we dont waste our time on them.

    going next month.  i'm pumped.

  16. i'm certain there is a midland thread already.  wall st is excellent.  garlic press was always great, but not sure if its still around.  there was a black-owned bbq joint i liked but cant remember the name of it.  mexican food abounds and is good at even the divey casual places.  i believe they call breakfast tacos burritos there, but get a pass because they're all pretty good.

Any thoughts on Santa Rita? It’s one of those places I’ve driven by a million times but never been to. It’s close to the house and would be great if it was a spot we could go to but I worry it’s not very good. I think it’s the same people who own 34th street cafe which is a comfy neighborhood spot we go to from time to time.

hasnt that place been a few different mexican restaurants?  seems like there was a dos bobos or dos hermanos or something like that in there.
