I sat several rows behind Karen Valentine in the Astrodome while she watched the Astros play in the World Series in crowd shots for a made for tv movie called Murder at the World Series
I remember that movie. The guy gets the death penalty, right? I remember the Astrodome scenes being very cheesy, but I still watched.

Panamanian Banana Crisis sounds like the Beastie Boys third album.

I've read the same, and that John Candy took the role for free as a favor to John Hughes.
Because of the union, he was paid the daily rate an extra would get. Because Candy was there, Hughes was on set that day, the only day he was on set for Home Alone. 20+ hour day, supposedly.

Norm: Is this going to affect the price of beer?
Sam: No.
Norm: Then what do we care?
I loved that episode and actually (metaphorically) try to live my life by this philosophy.

I want to see her walk him in on a leash on all fours as the new UNC entrance. I think that's where this is going.

Everybody is forced. There's no skinny people left.

Earl Campbell never played a game in Tennessee. He has zero to do with what that franchise is today.
Yep. Outside the obvious merch moneygrab, the point of a throwback uniform is that you strengthen your brand by allowing fans to reminisce about watching their team play in those uniforms again. Nobody in central Tennessee from the 60’s-90’s grew up watching and rooting for the Oilers or even had the slightest connection.
I just have a hard time believing a Tennessee based franchise’s bottom line is best served by a cheap moneygrab inspired by a decades old grudge between a dead Houston billionaire’s beef with a dead Houston mayor, as opposed to focusing on their own market. -

Hollywood couldn't cast better corrupt cops.
Yeah, those mugshots looked exactly what I thought they’d look like.

Sengun was fucking terrible last night and still ended up with 24 and 13. Jalen, Amen, and Jabari combined for 67 points on 57/53/71 shooting splits. A lot of moments of brilliance from those three and several moments of frustration as well. So is life in the NBA when you're built around four 21-23 year olds.
Sengun looked VERY gassed after practice on Thursday. He seemed to have hit it pretty hard in the bay for allstar weekend. He’s young, he’ll be back to form quickly, but probably not for a few more days.

The Homecoming Concert Special has made some really odd choices.
Not introducing musical guests, a Tom Petty tribute 8 fucking years after he died, opening with Fallon singing Soul Man and then chasing it with a washed Miley Cyrus singing A Crazy Thing Called Love (the fuck?!)
I had high hopes after the music documentary.
Pretty sure Lorne really likes Miley. Not like pervertedly, but has always had a soft spot for her. He made her a big part of the 40th celebration stuff.

I’ve really liked his contributions/interviews on History docs over the years.
