  1. Nice lead with good offense but need to prevent the easy layups a bit better on defense and avoid relaxing too much on that end

Abmas with another one of his career worse offensive days so far … and would prefer getting someone else some minutes beside Horton

But definitely an A grade so far

  2. With Disu's knee and Cunningham's thumb, we are basically a 6 man rotation that adds some 7th man minutes for Onyema.  If we'd been able to get a couple other scholarship guys in for a few serious developmental minutes in prior games, we might have a little more to lean on.  As it stands, Shedrick will need to be very good and Hunter and/or Horton will likely need a solid scoring game for us to prevail against OU.  I am more confident in Shedrick (unless his back problems flare up) than Hunter and Horton.  Abmas needs to play under control and look to pass rather than throw up the off-balance, half court shit if they choose to take him out of the game with double teams and press defense.  He went from amazing to wtf when Disu went down in the last game.  A lot of that was because Baylor decided to take him out and our offense devolved to him forcing up bad shots in the final 1/4 of the game.

  3. It felt like we got out of our offense and starting forcing one on one stuff about the time Disu last came into play game. Lotta rushed poor shots by guys that should know better after disu’s injury and really bad weakside rotation and covering the rolling pick man when we aggressively hedged the ball handler …

I doubt Terry told them to ease off. They panicked when Disu went out (despite doing okay without him for long stretches) and played lazier / sloppier 2 dumber ball on both ends the second half …

Refs also seemed to get whistle happy on one end of the court

  4. Sometimes it's impossible to pinpoint if a player has been coached up and is simply fucking up and/or not following the plan, or whether the player is confused/doesn't know how to do something right due to subpar coaching.  What is evident with this team is that it has shown the ability to play great some games and play embarrassingly poor basket ball during other games.  Sometimes the team looks like a sweet 16 team and others it looks like a first round NIT loser over the course of the same game.  The inconsistency represents a significant weaknesses in confidence, focus, conditioning, reacting on the fly, play-calling, fundamentals, etc... all of which suggest shortcomings by the coaching staff in scheming, motivation, substitution patterns, and practice repetition.   Every coach has his weaknesses.  Perhaps this team would be a few wins better if Terry's assistants were stronger at things he is not that great at.  Perhaps he is a bell curve coach at best.

  5. everyone here hates shedrick, so let’s not start acting like keeping him would be a big deal. chris johnson has got to be gone, he’s been a complete afterthought for this team, i can’t imagine him staying, especially considering that he showed up here last minute anyway. and while it’s possible that pryor is a real contributor next year, it’s really really unlikely that he’s a real contributor on a good team.
these guys are either unlikely to be here or are unlikely to be impact players here next year, especially on a good team. and RT is no Beard, not as a HC, and not in the portal. we’ve been worried about the bubble all year, and the odds of next year’s team even being as good as this year’s team are slim to none. it’s gonna be a rough season next year.

Shedrick isn't out of eligibility. Chris Johnson and Devin Pryor are currently freshmen. We are in the final group for that big man from NBA Africa who took an OV a month ago.

Shedrick is ok for an injury prone big that moves okay and can give you 10-15 minutes a game…

absent a decent big man to man the paint and a couple guys who can maintain a dribble moving north and south (not to mention a couple guys who can hit an open three at a good %) next year could be a drop like Arkansas saw this year …

Terry can fill out the roster with guys who have decent stats / expectations but he’s yet to show he can get them on the same page, working cohesively and without panic on defense and offense. He won’t have abmas and Disu to run high pick and rolls and make something out of nothing when all else breaks down.
