  1. I stumbled across a new BBC America series, Killing Eve, that has been surprisingly entertaining and interesting so far (3 episodes in)... It's about a female MI-5 agent (of sorts) tracking a hot, psychotic, female assassin... good acting... nice mix of suspense, violence and humor... just thought I'd recommend it.

    Is this good or bad?

If the person who replaces him on our staff can contribute to marked improvement in player development/fundamentals and/or offensive game planning, and Morrell's new team, UNCA, has a good showing with him as the head coach, I think it will be considered "good" for all parties.

View from the Tower observation deck - 1969.

In 1966 there was a parking lot on the east side of the block where the Dobie Tower is being constructed in this pic. That's where I watched Whitman do his evil work from. A utility worker, Roy Schmidt, was killed across the street from Littlefield fountain while returning to his truck.

I recall being in an English class in Parlin when the Challenger broke apart... many moons ago.

  4. Grandy  isn't even running second team right now. I wouldn't pencil him in as a starter yet.

I believe he was running solid 2nd team before getting the recent concussion ... that might explain it.

  5. Max has huge cojones stepping in late to face Khabib.  I applaud him for that, but I think he gets mauled unless he can daze Khabib when he's steamrolling in to grab onto him.

The keys will be whether Max, who will land some punches as Khabib is coming in, can gain any respect at all when he lands and whether he can avoid/escape the clench and takedowns enough to keep his gas tank full enough to stay on his bike and maintain his stand up movement game plan.

I will root for Max, but fear this will just be a somewhat more competitive version of Khabib versus Michael Johnson.

  6. Banks was never going to be a star.  He needed a lot of time and work.  There was a chance he would develop and get some good backup minutes in his senior and possibly junior years.  It's hard to know why he pulled the plug... self-delusions of how good he is?... grades?... perhaps he never flipped the competitive / serious attitude switch in practice and ended up being squeezed out by Shaka... maybe his position coach(es) focused on other players and he felt neglected and left out... and/or perhaps he just wasn't clicking with Bamba and the more popular kids.

He's not a huge loss, and he can probably start in a much lower profile conference.
