  1. I don't get it. I thought the SEC was murderer's row top to bottom, according to aggy, and that we couldn't possibly handle the week-to-week grind. But now we're lucky to have such an easy SEC slate, and so it's terribly unfair to all other teams that we've been gifted this patsy schedule. Pretzel logic indeed.

  2. Saw CSS in Denver last night. They are such a blast. Described by some as Brazil's B-52's, but they had a harder edge live. They are super endearing and hilarious. The singer (Lovefoxx) introduced a song called Fuck Everything saying it was about how much they love pizza. They also did a mashup of Sleater-Kinney and Jennifer Lopez. Good times.

That might've been the show where Kurt and the security guy got into it. Kurt being Kurt pushed his guitar into the security guy's face during a whole chaotic melee after jumping into the crowd, and the security guy freaked and starting wailing on him. Immediately Dave and Krist jumped in and pulled the guy off.

They sure are fun to drive around in Texas in August.

You'd be crazy to drive it in the Texas summertime! Fortunately I don't have that issue, so I can enjoy the amazement in my kids as they experience a roll start, the solitude of a car without any alarms or beeps, and the constant smiles and shakas I get whenever I take Blue Steel out on the road. It's a great ride.

It's also pretty cool how many conversations it starts -- usually along the lines of "I used to drive one of those" or "my uncle had one back in 1968" or whatever. People take pictures of it all the time, sometimes just the car and sometimes smiling and posing next to it. It just seems to brighten peoples' days to see it. Low tech still delivers.

In Japan for the kids’ spring break. Our first hotel had a bidet toilet seat. Tickles at first (NTTWWT), but I’m definitely getting bidets for the house. Start with one in the downstairs bathroom, then the toilets upstairs when we do the renovation.

Not going to go through the entire thread, but any recommendations?

For your master bath, Toto washlet w heated seat, heated water, and dryer. $400. It's the clubhouse leader for a reason, and will give you all of the comforts and niceties of the Japanese bidets. That was an immediate upgrade after our trip to Japan last fall. For the other bathrooms, anything in the $75+ range will be fine.

    BTW Japan is amazing.

  7. 3 metal shows in 5 nights. Two with my son who is a senior in high school and opted to take me to Insomnium instead of going to senior prom. Then he sang in the mic and held up one of the singers of Angelmaker on the barricade while the guy sang a song over the crowd. Such a cool kid.

Amon Amarth's first show at Red Rocks was totally killer too. That's a must-visit venue for anyone that hasn't been. They projected their logo on either side of the rocks surrounding the amphitheater.

    Friday: Wilderun, Omnium Gathurum, Insomnium

Monday: Frozen Soul, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth

Tuesday: Snuffed on Sight, Signs of the Swarm, Angelmaker, Thy Art is Murder

They relented.  We won the league.  They had to print it on our trophies.

We were happy with the Freeballers. But damn, Bowl Movements is top-shelf. Well done.
