Weird. Seems like they had plenty of time to take a machete and chop that cobra in two.

3 metal shows in 5 nights. Two with my son who is a senior in high school and opted to take me to Insomnium instead of going to senior prom. Then he sang in the mic and held up one of the singers of Angelmaker on the barricade while the guy sang a song over the crowd. Such a cool kid.
Amon Amarth's first show at Red Rocks was totally killer too. That's a must-visit venue for anyone that hasn't been. They projected their logo on either side of the rocks surrounding the amphitheater.
Friday: Wilderun, Omnium Gathurum, Insomnium
Monday: Frozen Soul, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth
Tuesday: Snuffed on Sight, Signs of the Swarm, Angelmaker, Thy Art is Murder

They relented. We won the league. They had to print it on our trophies.
We were happy with the Freeballers. But damn, Bowl Movements is top-shelf. Well done.

Why is it shocking? He came in super raw, and he’s only in his second year. Guys like him take time, and he has a bunch of 4th year guys ahead of him.
Shocking that I can't trust the 9.95ers, not that Bledsoe isn't in the 2-deep.

Trump's anti-vaccine rhetoric turbo-charged the antivax movement, and we're now seeing the re-emergence of polio and measles. It's now political to be vaccinated or not.
Trump made it political.
I don't think he should be held criminally liable for COVID deaths (and maladministration is really hard to prosecute), but he shouldn't be fucking let off the hook as you're suggesting.
Agreed. He was ignorant about Covid in the beginning, then made it political. He maligned the Surgeon General and the CDC. He began to rail against mask mandates and distancing as time went on. He set a poor visual example by never masking or distancing. He talked about it being akin to the flu. He talked about using light or bleach to cure it, or using those horse pills to cure it. He gave the MyPillow guy a platform to talk about it. He absolutely 100% politicized vaccines and public health. I give him credit for fast-tracking the vaccine-making infrastructure, but his public-facing rhetoric about it was totally political and rejected all common sense and science. Then he had the audacity to get covid a survive it, which was his biggest sin in the whole thing.

I had been hearing good things about him, but I guess I can't believe everything I hear from the 9.95ers. That is shocking.

I think there are a shit ton of people in this country that are a dangerous combination of A) stupid and B) irrationally distrustful of things like the federal government, science, medicine and education. They were both consumers and purveyors of disinformation related to the pandemic and they are who made the pandemic what it was in this country. They are who filled the covid death stat sheet for the US. They were going to be stupid, distrustful and not follow guidelines and mandates regardless of who was elected in 2016. Do you all honestly think Joe Dirt would have happily practiced social distancing, masked up when out and taken the vaccine like a good citizen if Hilary Clinton or Joe Biden was in the White House being all Presidential and shit? Fuck no.
Has the Republican party done a lot to ensure we have an unhealthy population of manipulatable idiots that are irrationally distrustful of societal institutions like government, science, health care and education? Absolutely. But Donald Trump wasn't involved with the Republican Party before 2015 or so and the post I responded to stated Donald Trump should be held criminally liable for covid deaths in the US. I still completely disagree. January 6th, yes. Georgia vote manufacturing pressure, yes. Covid deaths, no.
The biggest misstep Trump had with covid was surviving it.

Why isn't Jaray Bledsoe listed on the 2 deep?

I don't understand why someone created that graphic to disparage Beyonce, but then again I'm not a fucking idiot so maybe I'm not supposed to understand that.

I don't know. I feel bad for the victim, of course, especially since he was trying to help out as a Good Samaritan. But on the aggregate, big boys that carry guns seem to have this idea that guns will help in these kinds of situations. They get puffed up and have bravado because of them. Then they wind up escalating a situation because they are wielding a gun, and shit goes sideways, and then they get hurt or die. If he hadn't busted out his pistol and tried to go Clint Eastwood, there wouldn't have been multiple bullets flying around the Burger King parking lot and there wouldn't have been an out of control driver speeding through an area packed with cars and pedestrians. It's a miracle that no one else got hurt.

Ok, half of those are Beatle songs, so I will only respond to the Lennon solo stuff.
Perhaps it's a definition issue, but I'm willing to learn, what is musically complex about Steel & Glass? Seems pretty straightforward to me.
Same with Starting Over (one of my favs BTW), Whatever Gets You Through the Night.
I mean compare either of those musically to either Live and Let Die, or Maybe I'm Amazed....it's not even close.
I'm a huge Macca apologist and an admitted Beatles honk, so I won't argue the genius of Paul McCartney's songwriting. I was only saying that Lennon's material IS complex and interesting in many cases, and it's certainly not "usually just piano." I've actually been on a project in which I am playing every guitar part of every Beatles song in chronological order (as well as many other instruments in their songs). It has been a cool project to see the songwriting of John, Paul and George develop from a musicianship angle. I'm just about through with the White Album and it's clear that John is the most straight-ahead rock musician in the group, but some of his stuff is really intricate. But yeah, McCartney went into entirely different genres and soundscapes after the Beatles, and often went complex, whereas John kept more true to standard rock and roll songwriting.
Still, I think Lennon was at his best when he kept it simple, TBH. His best album is Plastic Ono Band and that's about as simple and straightforward as a musician can get.

It's well established that while Lennon and McCartney co-wrote many of their early songs together "eyeball to eyeball" as Lennon stated in a later interview (I Want to Hold Your Hand was written by both of them while they sat at each end of the same piano, for example), but much of the middle years and most of the late years were written solo and then brought to the rest of the band for improvements. There are many songs credited Lennon/McCartney that were written and performed without the others' input.
DixonHur is also wrong about Lennon's musical talent and song arrangement, saying "it's usually just a piano." It's very trendy to shit on his music these days, but the "Lennon was the lyrics guy while McCartney was the music guy" is an old trope that conveniently ignores complex songs like Strawberry Fields, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Day in the Life, I am the Walrus, Steel and Glass, Whatever Gets You Through the Night, Starting Over....there's a long list. But it is the unpopular opinion thread, so keep it up.
