  1. Might try the new Los Tios on Buffalo Speedway tonight..I guess it's the old Buca di Beppo?

Haven't been to a Los Tios in forever.

Anyone been to the new location?

Dude was throwing first pitch strike breaking balls all night. We couldn't do anything with it. We would take the first one and then foul off the second basically every at bat, hence out guys being down 0-2 all night.

14 0-2 counts. Out of 37 plate appearances.

He threw the same 2 pitch combo to start every single batter. It was maddening watching them whiff at that outside slider on pitch 2 after taking the meatball down the middle for strike 1. We could've tee'd off on the guy in the later innings if Pierce had just told them to go up there swinging.

That shit was brutal to watch.

Figured 2nd or 3rd time through the lineup they would've been sitting first ball, breaking ball.

Oh well, back at it this eve..

If I’m at Buc-ees and have finished pumping my gas and need a biscuit or taco I’ll leave my truck parked at the pump and run in and grab one real quick. If someone else does it they’re inconsiderate assholes!

    No issues with that.

  4. I'm not sure if this is a "trivial" thing or not.  I guess it's debatable, but that's for another day.

People that park at gas pumps (not getting gas) to run into the store are giant pieces of shit.

    Full stop.

but I heard if you just bop a shark on the nose or gouge it's eyes, it will swim away....  The fuck it will, if it wants to eat you, you're done.  I imagine you may have a slightly better chance with diving gear on and seeing underwater but if you're just on the surface, good luck.  Your only hope is that you're a world class, fast swimmer and you get a head start before it rips a leg or torso off.

You compared a 7-time National Champ to Tennessee baseball. Think about that for 2 minutes.

Uhhh, pretty sure he's not comparing the success of the 2 programs, just the antics.

I guess softball needs more brushback pitches/headhunting.  That might curb some of the ridiculous celebrations for walks etc.

Oh well, OU is really fucking good.

They're the Alabama of softball right now

  7. I can't imagine putting so much time and effort into trying to control the narrative of something that nobody outside of college station, gives a shit about.

If the the game is at Kyle Field, you can claim a very inconsequential/insignificant "victory".  OK?

If the game is in Austin, the entire conference will laugh, because you made such a public stand on it and "lost".  Again.

  8. Went to Miller Outdoor theater last night for Classic Albums Live.

This group plays, you guessed it, Classic Albums...cut for cut.

They did the Beatles Sgt. Peppers last night.  They were backed by the Houston Symphony.  It was a fun chill night on the hill.

I've NEVER seen it as packed as it was for their free summer series shows..Seats and Hill were 90% full.  We were almost on the backside of the hill, lol

Looked at their website and they're playing all over the country, different albums, Purple Rain, Back in Black, Dark Side of the Moon, Ziggy Stardust, Rumors

extremely curvy and rude, she doesn’t dress like the staff. She might just be there on busy nights

I don't think she was there..these girls were tiny, in all black waitress/hostess garb.

    Was the daughter working ?

Not, sure but I got the feeling that it was family run.

The hostess and my waitress were both cute

that’s a solid spot, good enchiladas. ask for the habanero salsa. It has a kick

Went to Juarez on Tuesday.  thanks for the rec, I would never have gone otherwise.  Food was great along with the habanero salsa.  Cheese enchiladas and their rice were both really good.

It's not the type of place I would go on a whim, just based on the location (new strip center), their logo (very chain-ish)

Funny, google maps took me to their old location down the street and I would've been perfectly ok eating in that old building, lol

    Good stuff though.

    1. So what are folks thoughts on Coaches playing more freshman early?
    2. How should roster management be handled as far as numbers added from high school vs the numbers added by transfers?
    3. What Texas Freshmen should see significant playing time in 2023?

With the transfer portal there has to be more pressure to get more freshman top recruits on the field earlier or they might transfer.  The one time transfers (in theory) are locked in to staying longer because they have to sit out a year if they transfer a 2nd time.  Also your best players are only around for 3yrs (Bijan) before they head to the NFL.

It also seems like once players have been at a school for 2yrs, it's a great time to transfer to get paid (ex. Jordan Addison).  Also, some positions are more coveted by teams for transfers:  QB, WR, Edge, OT, and CB's.

Just some interesting trends to keep an eye on and discuss...

I think most coaches operate mainly in the present and can't worry about what "might" happen with a disgruntled player.  They're trying to win games now.  If a FR can help win games now, by all means throw him out there.  But I don't think coaches would play them, just to placate them.

I'm not a coach and don't know shit, btw

Win the job/win reps with your effort in practice and it should work out fine for everyone.

Based on what I remember from the spring and looking at depth at certain positions, I think Baxter will get some carries.

Cook will be in the rotation at WR

On D I think Hill and Sydir Mitchell will be in the rotation at LB and DL respectively.

    Maybe Muhammad at CB?

  14. My wife and I were talking about G-town over the weekend and how we don't take enough advantage of it being so close. Even for day trips.

Her best friends parents have a house near Jamaica (I think) that they never use.  Like EVER.  They don't even rent it out, I don't believe.

It just sits there a block from the beach.

This is less than 5 miles from my office.

    Tuesday lunch...done.

Went to lunch a couple weeks ago to the tex mex place I grew up going to (La Hacienda-Memorial).  Still solid.  Cheese enchiladas, rice/beans and fountain drink for about $12

    Let’s get back on track…

Maybe a second trip to Rosemeyer’s the other week. Brisket was very good. The sausage was as good as before but the casing was tough. Almost like it was really thick. They provide plastic cutlery but I had to bust out my pocket knife to cut the sausage.

And another recent trip to Brisket & Rice. Another excellent meal from them.

Heading down to the coast tomorrow, so that means a visit to Butter’s.

Shiiiiit....I was just there, you might have been sitting right in front of me.  😆

NM- I just re-read your post.

First trip.  Probably the best brisket I've ever had.  Literally melt-in-your-mouth.

    Great pickles too
