  1. Funny hearing these stories about Last Stand...I liked the hats.

Same experience as others. This was when they were fairly new and I think at that time, just did Texas hats

Received the wrong hat, wanted to exchange that one for the correct one.  Sent the hat back...unfortunately there was a big storm in Houston around that time and a mail facility was destroyed.  I mentioned this after he said they never got it.

Claimed he mailed out the replacement.  i never got it.

Reached out again and he got all pissy saying that this was the 3rd hat he's sent ...essentially saying I got 3 hats.

    I have the 1.

I still wear it, but won't be buying anything else from them.  Guy seemed like a dick.

Does Herm Edwards have a relative on the team? He’s wearing a Texas hat and has a field pass. We should all be worried about Sark taking to Herm and Mack before the game.

    Former player....Brock.

  3. The wife and a friend ate edibles and went to the Museum, went to Hugo's for Margaritas etc.  They've been gone since 1.

They just got back here hammered, with a bunch of snacks, wine and firewood...watching tik tok vids, playing music.... and with apparent plans to commandeer the living room....just in time for the game.

    FML, I'll be upstairs.

Man I've always been a huge fan of "Wild Flower" off of The Cult's Electric.

Also "The One Thing" from INXS Shabooh Shoobah

This also came to mind for me.  Electric was the first CD I bought, think 7th grade?

    What a great album

We have a L-shaped kitchen with a too-big island in the middle. It's tight, and when I'm in the kitchen, I prefer everyone to GTFO. Anyway, I'm trying to prep veggies. My daughter decides it's a good time to start making a dessert, and my wife also decides it's a good time to stand next to me and make sure I thoroughly wash the broccoli. So instead of roasted broccoli with crushed, browned garlic, we're going to have boiled broccoli because I'm not going to have someone micro-manage how I cook.

I swear, I can be upstairs on my computer for hours, or sit on the couch to watch TV. But as soon as I go into the kitchen to cook something, she'll come stand next to me. I wouldn't mind if she was a good cook, but she doesn't under textures, mouth feel, when to cook with high heat, low heat, and how to get the best of both worlds, the flow and sequence of when to put the ingredients in. And she also scoops out dishwashing liquid because I use too much...

    Avatar checks out.

  7. Most of y'all have never heard of them, but there are couple of singer/songwriter types in my world that I absolutely love and can write some fucking great songs.

Vic Chesnutt and Jerry Joseph are in the Widespread Panic/Drive by-Truckers universe...Panic covers a bunch of both of their songs.

Anyway, they both write some sad stuff and they're awesome in their own way.  Sadly Vic, true to some of his lyrics, took his own life Christmas day 2009 :(

  8. I hadn't seen this thread, but finished the book earlier this year.

    It was a good read.

While reading, I kept thinking that it reads like a movie, so I have hope it could turn out well...especially if some of the actors mentioned above are in.

Durant feels like such a perfect fit in Houston.

It's just nice to see him on a functional basketball team for the first time in awhile, too.

It's great to see him playing with some joy. He has seemed pretty mechanical the last few years. I will admit that I was wrong about his fit on this team.

It's also nice on the team side to have a closer you can go to at the end of games like last night.  So many times last year, it was just complete chaos at the ends of games.

Surely there is somehwere that tracks "clos & late" stats?  I imagine KD is near the top

If they prepared for it, couldn't Jonah have called for a fair catch and attempted for the ball instead of casually running past the UGA player? He would've gotten leveled, but it would've been kick catch interference, right?

    😆

    No.
