feel free to, the boards are here for us to speculate. The best option now the way some of us see it is UM is on board. Timing is secondary, but probably sooner than most think due to the silence and continued cancellations of events involving Herman and Meyer
There are just too many cancellations of events involving Herman and now Urban to be a coincidence. The Sunday practice, the presser, herman's t.v. show and now Urban is canceling events. If you have to bet on whether Urban is ours or not, then there is compelling evidence that continues to mount that he's ours to bet against it. You have these facts on one side of the scale and FCB's reporting on the other. I'll take mounting facts, plus CDC's silence, together they tip the scales in our direction.

Your wrote, "If y'all want to hope then do it based on the fact that Meyer is kind of flaky sometimes. I mean I guess he could change his mind. Harder to change your mind the other direction once a contract is signed."
You cited no source. Hope in the context of those left on this thread would imply hoping UM comes to Texas. So when you say he could change his mind it implies change it back from turning us down to accepting our offer. You then close with a clause and since it isn't a complete sentence it's unintelligible.
As much as I'd like to believe this fan fiction, in what world would putting out a statement that Urbs turned down a job he hasnt officially been offered (not to mention our current coach hasnt been fired) seem like a good idea as a smokescreen or anything else? You want silence..until it's time to be unsilent.
you need to work on your reading comprehension, I never suggested such a thing
Just got home after flying back from a weekend in Austin and am catching up on the last several hours. Reading Caddox's post all I can say is BS. This doesn't sound like the response of Urban Meyer. The stress of the negotiations isn't going to shut him down. Perhaps I'm just way to hopeful, but this sounds like CDC has stressed to all the insiders that we need to give the appearance that for now at least discussions are off with Meyer while we still have another coach under contract. And I think the magnitude of this potential hire is finally enough to get all the insiders on board and unified. If we truly reached out to Meyer as much as a month ago and he expressed interest in the job as has been reported, then until we announce Herman is coming back or he's fired and another coach is under contract, I'm betting Urban is still our guy. Perhaps I'm going down with this ship, but I'm riding it to the finish
I’ve laid out precisely what CDC should have and for all we know may have done. I do not believe we are in negotiations with Urban. It’s either done and on hold till the end of the season or it’s off. My point is if CDC has made the decision to hire a new coach then he needs to cut Herman loose after the Kansas game or sooner if it’s canceled.
It we hire a new coach for 2021 and Herman is still employed Saturday night then cdc should be fired. I’d fire Herman today and give the reigns to Ash. But if he wants Herman to finish the season that’s tolerable especially if he gave his word he would do so
I"ll say it again, this is the chaos period it continues until there is official word from either UT or Meyer (well he's denied jobs before then taken them). Urban or bust until then. I believe we have at the very least agreed in principle
