Yes it is, and you’ve just demonstrated you are too. Have you not been watching the tv the last six months? The marches? The world is sick of insufficient responses to discrimination. Hell we still have buildings and statues that celebrate confederate leaders around the country. People are taking a stand and saying enough is enough and the eyes of Texas is in the cross hairs. You can continue to ignore it and hope it all goes away, but this time it is not. This time is different. Players have realized now is the time to effect real social change.

Lol dude it's October. No one is marching anymore.  The rest of the country has moved past the summer temper tantrum(except for possibly portland...I stopped following those idiots).  How old are you?  Possibly older then me, but it's not a new world.  If it was there would be a half dozen football teams in the SEC that would be having a fit about stuff related to their schools that are way way more offensive than the EOT have ever come close to being.  The whole eyes thing is more about where the football team is at then anything else.  If the team was what the other programs actually are and coached like they are...guess what the players would be fine and dandy.  It's a lot easier to be a malcontent about things that don't truly matter when you are a struggling and under performing football team with an A-hole for a coach that you can't stand.  If it is whole new world (insert Alladin GIf) why isn't it a whole new world for soccer, volleyball, swimming, or any of the other teams that are referenced in the article?  Why, because those players understand what it is CDC is asking of them and it has nothing to do with singing a freaking song for the athletes.

Again, CDC is asking them to stay and thank the fans for coming. Not participate in the song.

What does everyone think of Ian Boyd?  Is he a good $9.95er or full of shit?  He's over at Inside Texas and they're one of the better/most consistent reporting services right?  He replied "Yes." to the tween above.

Not sure, but Haywood needs to reread his bible.  We've done a pretty good job of being Goliath and getting one shotted in the head by Daniel's before they chope our heads off.

It was apparently unknown to the poster quoted in my post. He directly said maybe Urban wouldn’t come to Texas because of his friend ship with Herman.

    reading is hard

I wasn't meaning that response to you specifically, there had been several posts including his that were acting like they revealed some great truth about Herman and Urbs not being pals.

They are not friends. Herman and his wife are viewed as whistle blowers in the Zach Smith shit that eventually got Urban out at OSU. I think Meyer might take the job just to spite Herman

What is this some kind of revelation?  They don't like each other. they haven't liked each other, they weren't friends before the Zach Smith fallout.  Meyer and Herman have sniped at each other since Herman took the Texas job, possibly before but I didn't pay any attention to tom at Cougar High.  I know some thought Urban thought Herman got too much credit for the offense at tOSU, and supposedly grabbing that 5 star receiver was more about taking him out of Tom's back yard and the high rated prospect was a bonus.

These 2 cats don't like each other and that has been obvious for a while now.

Now that that has been appropriately responded to.....

The Texas can't do it because the financials look bad and it would be a really bad look.  Look the AD is separate from the university for a reason. This is that reason.  Financially we are completely separate from the University so any struggles they are having are a different matter.

As for the AD itself.  If TH didn't have the program in such a horrible state, the financial situation would probably be better anyway. So at least a portion of it is his fault...he is the problem.  Secondly, I feel terrible for all the staffers in our bloated AD that have been furloughed and laid off.....but if any of them have the potential of generating $150,000,000.00 in revenue every fall....they wouldn't be currently furloughed would they......This is like asking if the Houston Astros should resign George Springer after they had to furlough some staff during the season......

I’m sorry but that’s extremely short sighted. It’s rare for an interim coach to do better than the person he replaced, history is firmly behind that. You’re already paying the guy, and whoever you hire to replace him is extremely unlikely (read, absolutely not going to) come in to coach for the Baylor game, so just get as much out of him as you can knowing it’s not going to be great, prepare your pitch and initiate conversations where possible with the replacement, and bite the bullet for the remainder of the year.

Unless the current coach goes Mack Brown and uses up all of your official recruiting visits so that his replacement can't do jack........

First question: does CDC want to fire Herman?

Second question: does CDC have to fire Herman?

I believe the answer to both is "no". We might not see it this way but there are tons of influential people close to the decision makers who see the COVID-truncated 2020 season as worthy of a mulligan (and the decision makers themselves might feel that way, too). CDC is not an "off with their heads!" type, he is averse to creating churn through change, and it would be easier on him and much cheaper if Herman worked out. Herman still meets all of the unwritten but ever-important "We're Texas" requirements for keeping up appearances. The kids win some games, we never get embarrassed on the scorboard, they don't get in trouble off the field, and there's not even a whiff of scandal around the program. Why, a lot of the kids are showing that they're leaders in the community!

Unless there's a total on-field collapse, there is nothing currently going on with this program that will get its coach fired. We all think the situation is totally unacceptable, but we're wrong. It's totally acceptable to our decision makers.

    A) The total unfield collapse has been happening for the past 3 weeks, it's gaining momentum like a snowball.  That's the other thing about the Sad pic of Sam.  The team is done, they don't even care about each other anymore.  That isn't attacking them, but a team has each other's back, there was no one that was even aware enough that their star QB who just went Superman mode was standing out on the field for the eyes by himself?  The team is done.

    B) Herman isn't Mack.  Mack had job security because the BMDs loved him and he catered to them.  He had job security because happy BMDs were easy for Dodds to deal with as AD and made his job easier.  The BMDs hate Herman and CDC is probably wishing he had canned him 11 months ago.  The support of Red and Jamail and Hicks and others was why Mack had his security even when he was getting mudholed by OU.  Again he was also beating the crap out of most every other team on his schedule at the time.  Herman is reviled by the BMDs and has been.....and he doesn't even have the ability to put on an entertaining blowout to teams that he should.

    C) This covid is a mulligan year is a bunch of crap.  The BMDs are seeing other schools that are dealing with the same and in many cases worse shit from Covid and actually fielding a football team that looks like it has an idea of how you play the game of football.  Then they see their team go out and look like they are the 3 stooges out there.  BMDs have a lot of pride and they don't like being associated with this level of crap of a football team.

  8. For the conversations on wins and losses.....I don't truly think it matters.  Maybe I am wrong....but I think Tom is gone period.  I think the powers that be are fed up with him and his act.  I think the players have largely tuned him out.  So even if the team somehow manages to finish with a winning record of some sort.  It will be through games like TCU and OU and Tech, which lets all be honest, no one would consider to be playing good football.

I think if the team was playing well and somehow we were getting "snakebit" kind of losses...it would be another matter.  But I think the ugly ugly football and the incoming bad news in recruiting are going to see Tom out the door as much as his record will.

y’all like firing coaches as much as y’all like Texas sports. It’ll be alright. Fuck Ou.

Ps: furious about this games. But win next week and we got it.

And what crap the bed against the next bad team we play......

Ok.  But it’s one or the other. If he’s a bad coach, then why should he kill tech and tcu?

If he was a good coach, Texas has the talent to destroy Tech and absolutely beat TCU at home.

My point is Herman isn't a good coach and thus we continue to underperforme..

Maybe if you weren't busy slitting your wrists you would notice that Bowman got knocked out of the game

So your argument is what?  Tech is a great team with Bowman and we were awesome for coming back to beat them?

Cause personally the opinion going into this season among Tech fans is they were going to be shit whether Bowman managed to play a full season or not.

With Bowman(who BTW KSU was still defending way better than us when he was in) or without Bowman Tech is bad this year.

We were 10 point favorites by last night, because anyone with a brain hammered tcu at 16 and at 15 and at 14 and at 13 and at 12 and at 11.  Because vegas was way off with that line, and this game went more or less how most bettors thought it would, regardless of the final winner and loser.

Yes and a lot of that is because Herman is a bad coach.  He should have killed TCU today and he absolutely should have destroyed Tech a week ago.

  13. We were 16 point favorites at home.  The refs didn't swing the game 18 points.

What about last week at Tech?  They may arguably not win a conference game and should have beat us.  This isn't one bad game and the refs screwed us here....

  14. I am not expecting us to be perfect or even win all the games we are supposed to every year.....but we should be a good enough team that not every conference game is a nail biter.....blowing out bottom feeder teams in this conference isn't too much to ask...
