It's gonna be a real kick in the ass for Texans when the Orwellian named "Big Beautiful Bill" introduces excise taxes on solar and wind energy
edit: You can find the new tax on solar and wind on page 558, applicable if components are sourced from China

It started too slow and meandering/rinse and repeat, but 4.5 onward was nails. I loved the under the table gimmick frankly because the set kept getting bigger and bigger as more people were under there. Sure it’s a metaphor, insisting on itself whatever, but I felt it was kinda self aware when the Fak backed up to take the picture.
I actually loved the conceit of the last episode just being those 3 and then Sugar comes out and validates Carmy without words.
Will miss this as I don’t think it’s coming back. Hopefully not.

If any of this works, and apparently it sort of did with Canada, I think it will show us that not only is American leadership a bunch of dumb fucks, but so are many of the rest of the world’s leaders.

The Democrats have never, not once, in my entire life actually wanted to accomplish anything its left-of-center base wants accomplished.
I mean, what little movement there has actually been on climate change has been entirely because of the Dems. And was Obamacare just nothing?

I think the Dems lose more they gain if they start backing off something like gay marriage. Again, this isn't the Dem leadership deciding how to change the world; the world changed and the Dems are reacting. Unless our culture shifts back enough, supporting gay rights will remain part of any path to winning. It's hard to imagine culture shifting back that much quickly, but, as they say, "nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition."
I meant that Rs will reverse gay marriage as soon as possible. Probably will wait to see if (when) they retain power in 2028, by whatever means. But once that happens, look out gays.

There is no shifting back, thankfully.
That is…optimistic.

but it like Michael McCaul said on Face the Nation this weekend..
He says Republicans will vote for the bill because "they know that their jobs are at risk, not just from the president, but from … the American people, our base back home, will not reelect us to office if we vote no on this."
The merits or demerits of the bill are irrelevant, the politics say vote yes or get primary-ed.
Just get past the primary, and then coast to the general in their gerrymandered district.
It's fucked.
And then their constituents take it right in the ass, but by the time election season rolls around, they've been inundated so much by Fox News that Dems are the Debil that they forget the pain Dear Leader(s) caused and they again yank that R lever like they are starting a mower.

The Hancock HEB is finally getting close to being done with the expansion. However, it appears they forgot to not only expand, but instead decided to contract their check out lines. Am I crazy or does that seem like a really bad idea?

We focus on the racism bit, but young men (and some not so young) reacting to the attack on their god-given right to be superior to women is a major factor as well.
Equality is triggering, in all its forms.
This is where I think social media has fucked us the most. I can’t imagine growing up trying to socialize and date chicks with so much of that time spent online. What a cesspool.

Anyone who calls themselves a centrist nowadays is not a serious person, or they just really love Joe Biden for some reason, but one hand feeds the other.
I’ve found it’s people who want the Rs to be more “80s conservative” so they can vote for them, but know they can’t vote for dotard.

Not trying to make excuses for these folks and then proceeds to make excuses for these folks.
I didn’t read it as an excuse, more of an observation. It’s ridiculous, but if they don’t expose themselves to the real world, stupid and gullible may be more apt.

From my centrist buddy who votes Dem as of the last decade, but seems to hate doing it.
QuoteWill be interesting to see what happens in the mid terms. As an outsider, sure seems the liberals are shifting left rather than acknowledging the hard truths of why they are losing elections to these asshats.
