Media is broken. They want the horserace, hell they probably want a Trump presidency. "Think of the ratings we will get covering what that crazy son of a bitch will say or do next 24/7/365".
And I don't see that changing until somebody or a lot of some bodies are made to bleed. You take the good and noble 1st Amendment and weaponize it to foist propaganda on a society with quickly eroding critical thinking skills, increasing levels of isolation and fear, and an ever-increasing blame complex all under the guise of free speech.

Just so we are clear, in the 1950s and 1960s we keep referring to, we imposed taxes of up to 90 percent on the highest bracket, only falling into the 30s in the 1980s (which is when we began to look at the crazy rising CEO pay rate). Raising taxes substantially on the extreme upper end of the compensation spectrum will heavily disincent those sorts of packages and will boost revenue and provide for more services than implementing some sort of “wage speed limit.” The blueprint is all there.
To that I’d include a wealth tax and larger inheritance taxes.
Now you've done it.

Michigan and Wisconsin: two electorates famously known for being 50 points apart.
Did they only poll 18-29 year old people of arabic descent in Dearborn? This is silly.

i watched it last night and laughed my ass off. i thought it was hilarious. its ron burgundy/dumb and dumber kind of dumb, but as long as you arent expecting something highbrow you should be fine. ironically, jerry seinfeld is the worst actor in the movie and probably the least funny. i do agree with one of the posters above that commented about the target age demographic. it definitely helps to be over 50 to get this era of american society. last comment: hugh grant was almost academy award worthy. great performance from him in this.
Saw it last night and loved it. Completely absurd. There's nothing ironic about the bolded. That has always been the case, including the show. That's kind of the point. What a killer cast.

Someone that does a poor job of putting on a facade to hide their true intentions. Usually, they struggle to mimic normal human behavior due a lack of social skills. As a result, whatever they are being sneaky about comes off as creepy.
The vibe is, "that dude is weird, I think he is going to sniff our seats when we leave the room." Although, he might just be waiting to pitch Amway products but he comes off as a sweaty mouth breathing pervert due to their odd weaselly personality.

None of the polls make any fucking sense.
This. It's fucking dumb. I'm not paying attention to any of them. It doesn't fucking matter. I'm going to vote early for Biden and I'm in Texas. There. That's my poll.

You're thinking of the tennis hustler from New York who did once travel through France alongside one woman's erotic train journey from Milan to Minsk.
I speak of Rene Emile Belloq who died off the coast of Greece in 1936.
to your point, however. They both had a penchant for skullduggery.
Yeah, you're probably right. I heard it from a dwarf and we all know they only care about themselves.

As the famed French Archeologist Belloq tells us, this is not movement through history. This is history.
I believe it's "Bellosh".

What that little fan film shows is that a good story with good dialogue competently delivered really is the key. I didn’t mind the budget production or the no name actors at all. In fact sometimes no name actors can help with the immersion.
I'm not going to watch it because a) I don't want to be comparing the Jackson version to it the whole time and b) I don't want it to be better than the Jackson version.

GE used to be proud of how much they paid their employees, and the high quality of benefits they provided. It was a huge part of their marketing for new hires.
Guess which exec killed that off?

Watched Unfrosted last night on Netflix. Thoroughly enjoyed. Completely absurd, great cast, and a couple of Seinfeld references sprinkled throughout.

lol, wtf is that even about? A diary from Biden's daughter? I guess I don't run into enough right wing propaganda to have ever heard of that.

So I had a few hours to kill this afternoon while waiting on my kids’’ activities and went down some YouTube, Reddit, and blog rabbit holes. Lot of analysis of what WB said about Jackson and LOTR in the earnings call, as well as WB’s financials (which are shit). The thinking is that WB is going back to the well with Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (the HBOMax series) and a few other things to make a bunch of money in the next 4-5 years, and they are willing to spend money to make money.
From what’s been said, Jackson and Co. have complete creative freedom, and the first movie is more about Aragorn (basically prequel to the LOTR trilogy) and pulling a ton of stuff out of the LOTR appendixes (as mentioned earlier). Legolas maybe tied in as well as Gandalf (who is central to the reason why Gollum was being hunted by Aragorn). Aragorn is a fan favorite so it makes sense. We might also see some of the fights that happened outside of the Shire between various baddies looking to attack the Shire versus the Rangers/Dúnedain, etc. who were guarding the Shire.
it’s not going to generate a lot of “new” stuff, but instead builds up the backstory of Gandalf, Legolas, and Aragorn (and Gollum and Bilbo) and lays out the journey of the ring up through Bilbo obtaining it, and it’s all out of the LOTR appendixes.
There’s also a lot of talk that WB may have worked out a deal with Amazon and Embracer for Jackson to have access to The Silmarillion going forward, including the silmaril jewels and some of the elf stuff for future movies or series beyond these first two movies. Embracer and WB especially want to make a lot of money fast.
Here’s a pretty good video just talking about the hunt for Gollum
Ian McKellen is 84, so they should get in all the Gandalf stuff they need asap.
