I mean, I agree, but this is a bit over the top.

I know one day I'm gonna be at my wife's sister's household or her parents and at breakfast they're gonna ask how I liked the new bed/pillow/linens/whatever.  Like the guy in "Go!" when he asks Scott Wolf and Jay Mohr, "This wine, these plates, even that cologne you liked...all Confederated Products!"  I'm gonna be polite and say, "Yes, slept like a baby...everything is really nice in there."  And they're gonna spring it on me, "ZING!  That's a pillow and bed linens from Mike Lindell.  You know?  The mypillow.com guy you used to make fun of.  What do you think about that funny guy?"

I'm sure it's a decent product.  And I don't condemn his past. It's just that he's fucking insane and if I give him money, he's gonna do weird shit with it.

I think you and I are the only ones that appreciate that movie.

It may have not been any different. I was just posting Biden saying under his presidency this would not be happening because he was going to stand up to him. You think Biden saying maybe if it's just the tip it won't be that bad was good? You think the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan helped? Is this the bUt tRuMp thread or Biden thread?

It's the but trump thread for the rest of fucking history.  You voted for (and still support, by all measures) the worst president in the history of this country and now you get to reap it forever.

It’s really a neat thing that by helping people we can also help ourselves so everybody lives in a better and safer world.

This is what, thank god, several insanely wealthy families coming out of the Gilded Age understood.  Roosevelts, Rockefellers, etc.  They had ZERO need to help out society, but they realized the tremendous influence they could have on the future of the nation.

I fear this mentality does not exist in our present time, at least not by most of those at the top (billionaires going to space and whatnot).  Sure, you've got the Gates Foundation and other charities, but we need people with massive power and money to influence our politics in a positive way for society, not the nightmare that is occurring right now.

  5. This mentality is just something I will never understand.  I am pretty well off and was born into a pretty good situation.  Yeah, I worked decently hard, but I'm well aware I've been given a TON of opportunity.  Way more than a lot of people.  That said, I can't fathom feeling like people in other walks of life don't deserve to have those same opportunities.  If that means those of us in positions like mine (or better) need to help them to that point, I have zero issue with that.  It only seems fair.

But there is this bizarre, almost gleeful, attitude in putting down those less fortunate and looking down on them with scorn and disdain.  I just don't get it.

I guess it shouldn't surprise me anymore how quickly people abandon empathy for the perception (and rarely the reality) of saving a few hundred bucks a year on their tax return.

The last few pages is a pretty disappointing reminder of what we're dealing with and how effective Republican messaging is. Fatty is smarter than most, but it's still the usual "Democrats want free college for everyone, socialist healthcare, poor people to have free cell phones, and to take all of our guns!!!"

Man, I thought for a minute he was going to have a real discussion, but it QUICKLY devolved into right wing talking point nonsense.

Ok, you're somewhere between 0 and 100% for it, I'm not.  That's but two examples of policy that I don't agree with the progressives about. I feed my family with money earned in O&G.  I hunt and shoot skeet tournaments for fun.  I run cows and actually need a diesel truck.  Basically, someone the progressive party would delete completely if possible.  It's not in my best interest in any fucking metric to vote for them.

Cool, glad they want to help people.  But see above, they don't have much to offer me. I've had insurance with every job I've ever had.  I've already paid for my school, and my wife's school, and a shitload of my kids' future school.  I don't need a free phone, help with daycare, or any help with broadband internet.  I align with the (moderate) Democrats with regards to abortion.   What I'd like is for my tax bill to decrease (income, capital gains, inheritance), or for everyone to contribute income tax to take some heat off those of us actually paying.

There’s a lot to unpack here, but the crux of the issue is that you work in O&G.

I can’t blame you for that. I’ll continue to withhold my vote completely until they fix that. But I can’t bring myself to facilitate in any fashion the progressives view for the country.

So you’re not going to vote again?  Like, ever?  Cause the GOP you claim to want ain’t walking through that door.  In fact, they probably never existed.

Countdown to right wing media cutting off the last part and showing it to morons saying “see, he wants inflation! He wants to destroy the middle class and usher in Marxism!”

either that or, “see, Biden is a dementia riddled potato that thinks inflation is actually good!”

    Oh this is 100% happening.
