What gang? It must be exhausting constantly playing out these worst case scenarios for yourself, your family, your state, and your country, and preparing as such. Even when you get to always make yourself the hero in your hypothetical hellholes.

This is what I'm always thinking about when people pull the "I need to protect my family" line.  It's straight from Jim Jeffries.  "You think people are coming to murder your family?  How many fucking enemies do you have?!?!"

”Man, it’s almost $3/gallon now. Thanks Joe Biden.”

I loudly guffawed.  These people have zero critical thinking skills, nor do they have any desire to pay attention to the real world.  As long as they have a bogey man to blame what they consider their misfortunes on, they will continue their existence.

The GOP figured this out and they will never stop.

I meant to add to this when I wrote it originally.

Part of the reason this struck me at the time was the probably unintentional reference to the "Thanks Obama" meme from back in the day.  During Obama's tenure, I thought the "Thanks Obama" meme was pretty funny.  As in, let's blame him for everything in jest because he's the president and everyone blames everything on the president.

What I didn't realize was that the people on the Right were 100% serious when they did this.  They literally thought everything wrong in their lives were because a black, Democratic man was president.  I wish I had seen it for what it was then and what it would lead to a couple of years later.  Now here we are 2 months into Biden's tenure and they are turning it on again.  "Thanks Biden".

WTF.  Party of Personal Responsibility my ass.

Racism is a red herring.  The only ideology of the GQP is to enrich the elite.  The suppression of votes and disenfranchisement, xenophobia, and constant need for an 'enemy' to rail against is there to win elections and enrich the elite.

This is how fucked up all of this is: this is pretty much the only CR thread with no GRHorn or Donkey or Don Johnson or Johnny Sack, etc. playing the both sides card or trolling or telling everyone that they're overreacting and common sense voting reforms were needed. There's no defending any of this...doing so means you either you believe Trump's big voter fraud lie, and you're an absolute moron, or you're a racist and don't want so many people--particularly minorities--to vote. Or both. Even our Republican friends know to stay the fuck away.

Came here to say this.  Have any of our republican posters even attempted to defend this?

Psaki handles it pretty well. What I don't like is when it is about them--the interaction--versus what the topic is supposed to be. So yes, calling out insolence and shutting down unproductive question lines is part of the job description or at least it should be. Spicer would get combative and angry and I didn't find that helpful, regardless of how I felt about him. The lies upon lies were just stupid and a bunch of them did that.

Agreed and I'm not just talking about the daily briefings.  This needs to be across the board.  When Ted Cruz starts his bullshit in congress, he needs to be called out.  He needs to be told he's not a serious human being and nobody believes he is genuine.  When Matt Gaetz goes on one of his rampages, same thing.  Shut them down.

I'm going to violate the both siderism, but IMO, any "news" corp should have a better than a certain percent accuracy if they're going to be in the WH pool and credentialed by the WH Correspondent's Association. That's why I called out CNN too. They are not much better with fact checking but have less pseudoscience. I mean, people get that there can be bias in reporting, but making stuff up is not news, it's tabloid and should be treated as such. The problem is, I do not want to restrict the press or censor the press and this is in that territory and right through the front door into the living room of the WH. So, I'm a little squeamish about it were it to come from anywhere but the journalists and the media orgs themselves. They have the right to censor, but the government should not. I guess calling them out, however, isn't censorship nor is it forbidden any more than the former President name calling reporters when he disliked a question. Which was bad form and rude by the way.

The WHCA operates independently of the White House, so technically they control the credentials and who has access, so they may have been the ones to shut out Fox and Doocy for all I know. They could perhaps crack down on their own membership should they choose to do so, but money talks and walks and that's the name of the game.

Right, I'm not calling for them to be banned, thought that would be nice.  I am calling for them to be shamed.  I am calling for them to be treated like the insolent children they are.

Still say that the WH is under no requirement to allow special access to entertainment broadcast media.

See, they need to fucking call this out.  Quit treating them like they are legit.  They are being sued into Bolivia right now for being completely full of shit and knowing it.  CALL THEM ON IT.

This goes for all Republicans and conservative media in general.  I'm so fucking tired of pretending like these are serious human beings.  They are not.  The longer we don't call them out, the longer they will keep doing it and the longer it will take to move forward in society.

Tell me the reporter who was "uncomfortable" with Cruz, couldn't distance themselves as far away as anyone is this photo.  They probably wouldn't even be allowed to get any closer to Cruz than those on the front row here.  Has anyone asked Jen to put on a mask?  Of course not.  Nor should they.  She's vaxxed, they're in masks, they want her to communicate clearly...

I currently live in the smallish town where this went down.  Word on the street is the guy who quit in November had been caught stealing. He had been a somewhat long time employee, so the owner said he wouldn't fire him, but he was going to dock some of his pay every pay period until it was paid back. Two weeks later, the guy quits. Owner doesn't want to pay him the last check (since he's still owed money from the theft). State gets involved. Pennies dumped on driveway. Quitter guy dumps oil in the change pile, then starts calling all the news stations. Apparently a lawsuit will be headed towards the quitter in short order. Big excitement for this ridiculous little town.

    Username checks out kinda
