  1. So, Biden's latest accuser is sticking by her story despite it being proven that he didn't attend the event where she claims he complimented her underage knockers.

    Quote

“The Biden campaign is now trying to make it seem like Joe Biden never even attended the event (that year) they are saying he had a sinus infection and sent some one is his place, only that year,” she wrote. “They are saying he attended all the other years EXCEPT the one year my incident happened. This is crazy to me and saddens me.”

“I just wanted to post this to say, I am NOT lying I never was lying and I stick with my original truth, and that won’t change,” she added.

The nerve! Providing evidence that you were not physically present to have committed harassment is rape culture run amok.

  2. Is this supposed to be a quote, or does Trump now consider himself some sort of prophet? Has he figured out how to open his third eye? Moreover, does he have any clue how an ellipsis actually works?

I'll be honest, introducing Donald the Seer as a new character this late in the series just feels needlessly tacked on.

  3. I've enjoyed watching people I know on Facebook decide that all the experts all over the world have been dead wrong, so in these times we must turn to the real pros on epidemiology and pathology: Candace Owens, Bill Mitchell and a guy who runs a doc in a box clinic in Bakersfield.

  4. Daily tidbits:

XOM cutting 400K/day in Q2. 100K from Permian, rest from Canada and international.

CVX cutting 200-300K in May, 200-400K in June.

Air travel numbers beginning to improve ever so slightly. 155K went through TSA checkpoints yesterday. That's the highest number since 3/30, though still ~95% less than this time last year.

  5. A rare positive thing to come out of COVID is that we just got an extra 3-month extension on our construction loan without paying any fees or even really having to ask. Seems they're just presuming that any delays occurring these days are due to emergency. We actually haven't seen any virus-related slowdown on our build. Crews there pretty much everyday.

  6. Continuing to chip away at the supply/demand imbalance:

COP announces cuts of 265K barrels/day in May, 460K in June.

Norway announces cuts of 250K for June, 135K through December 2020.

Valero says gasoline demand has climbed from 55% of normal to 64% in the past week.

I'm not sure the source of this problem but when I embed tweets, the tweet is just blank space. If I refresh the page, sometimes it shows up sometimes it does not. Could be Surly, could be my computer, could be the Twitters.

    Same problem here.

Also getting a lot of 502 and 504 gateway issues the last ~2 weeks.

  8. On top of this, I've seen reports estimating that US production is already down 1.5Mbbl/day since the beginning of the crisis, and large scale shut-ins are just beginning. Currently sitting around ~11.5M/day. I'd expect we'll drop to below 10M by end of June. That would wipe out nearly 3 years of supply growth.

I capitulate.  Being "right" is less important than being profitable.  This game sucks.  My money is going into PSLDX until the next time I want to burn daytime hours obsessing over absolute bullshit

Hey, guess what?  GILD made another announcement about their "miracle drug" at the exact same moment GDP was released.

Meanwhile, many Governors, both Dem and GOP, have seen 20+ point upticks in their approval ratings. Presumably related to not being incoherent piles of toxic human garbage.

How do you shut in an oil well?

I know nothing about o&g and my searches for an answer turn up a bunch of stuff about royalty payments and shutting down while drilling.

Most oil and gas leases only allow for gas wells to be shut-in (as a result of market conditions). When operators opt to shut-in a gas well, they have to pay shut-in royalties in order to keep the lease from expiring due to lack of production. Typically, there's no provision for shutting-in oil wells, which is why companies have been asking state oil and gas regulators to issue emergency orders allowing them to shut in oil wells without triggering lease termination.

Well, at this point, he very well may get sued.  Because that is contrary to Chapter 418 of the Government Code.  He can't supersede local control on this.

Doesn't sound like City of Houston will be the one to fight that battle.

  13. Abbott press conference going on right now.

Existing stay-at-home order expires 4/30 and will not be renewed.

All local orders are superseded if they conflict with state order.

Phase 1 of re-opening begins Friday 5/1. Retail, restaurants, movie theaters and malls can re-open at 25% occupancy levels.

Phase 2 will begin on Monday 5/18 if infection data remain steady and no setbacks. Capacity can increase to 50%. Bars, gyms, barber shops, and other additional categories will be considered for re-opening in Phase 2. No decision yet on those.

Rural counties with very limited case numbers may be able to skip ahead to Phase 2.  Apparently this would apply to almost half the state.
