  1. My last F150 hat I bought used came with a retractable cover installed. It was great for the first year or so, but eventually some part broke and it would no longer retract from pulling the cord. Had to manually push it open, which was not easy. Eventually it could only open halfway, which made it less than useless. I finally just tore the whole thing out. Guy at a truck accessory store told me the retractable covers pretty much always eventually break.
  2. Curious what price you got quote for those All in was $1650, installed.
  3. My handsome devil Tyler immediately charmed the pretty new dark haired girl at daycare today.
  4. Out-dated article from 2022 that talks about a Fall 2023 opening, but it is currently under construction. I'm guessing sometime in Summer 2024. https://houston.eater.com/2022/10/26/23424738/houstons-pit-room-opens-new-resturant-expansion-katy-barbecue-bbq-memorial-city
  5. I'm looking forward to checking out the Pit Room's new flagship location when it opens up next year out in Memorial City, next door to Fishing Tackle Unlimited. Gonna be like 5x the size of the original.
  6. I mean, they're not exactly across the street from each other. Truth is on Washington and Pinkerton is basically east of Norhill. Each would be between 2-3 miles away from TB. I'm pretty comfortable making the following prediction: If they do actually build a big Terry Black's at that location on Shepherd, it will be busy. Additionally, neither Truth nor Pinkerton's will see a noticeable drop-off in customers. Houston is not exactly shrinking, and the Heights specifically continues to get more and more dense. God knows how many new giant apartment complexes have sprung up in the past few years.
  7. Terry Black's first outpost in Houston may finally be getting underway. Internet sleuths sussed out years ago that LLC's connected with Terry Black and his sons were buying up several adjacent properties in the Heights. Eventually they acquired a large chunk of the block fronting Shepherd between 13th and 14th. Over the last few weeks, numerous demolition permits have been issued and all those buildings should start coming down over the next few months. https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/48391-1311-1331-n-shepherd-dr/
  8. Finally going to finish getting this one the way I want it this weekend. Dropping off Saturday morning to get a bedliner sprayed-in and a Bakflip tonneau cover installed.
  9. DJIA briefly topped 37K for the first time ever.
  10. God damn he was good on Brooklyn 99
  11. Follow this video, this is the real answer. Find the allen-wrench shaped socket on the motor and have at it.
  12. S&P at about a 90-week high dating back to Spring Break '22. Up about 33% since bottoming out in mid-October last year.
  13. I read yesterday he already makes upwards of $50M/year in endorsements in Japan. There's not a whole lot in this world that you can't afford on $52M/year that you could afford if only you were making $120M/year.
  14. Front is rolling through late this afternoon. Will get windy and start dropping 2-3 degrees every hour starting around 4 pm. Should bottom out around 40 at dawn tomorrow. You should be in good shape if you head out a little before sundown. Wind supposed to die down by then to almost nothing and should still be a few ticks above 50 at 5:30 Sunday.
  15. U6 is 6.8%. While up from its all-time low (6.1% in April '23), it's still a very healthy reading historically. Labor participation went up 0.1% last month. Prime-age (25-52) participation in particular is in very good shape.
  16. DOE has begun purchasing barrels for the SPR, but claims they can only physically take delivery of 3M barrels/month. Several smart econ guys I follow on Twitter have proposed DOE should set up a system for ongoing long-term purchase contracts and worry about taking physical delivery later.
  17. UMich consumer sentiment hit its best reading in several months. Inflation expectations cratered. Gas prices tanking probably accounts for a lot of that.
  18. Oh here you go with your Texags-esque "always revised lower" schtick. Every single BLS report, under every administration, gets an initial release, initial revision the next month, and final reading the next month after that. True, for several months now, the revisions have primarily been lower. For a long stretch in 2021 and 2022, they were consistently revised higher. The guy in charge of the BLS was appointed by Trump and has had the job for 5+ years now. Is he cooking the books for Biden?
  19. 10-year back up to 4.22% after the report.
  20. In hindsight, pretty sure I had COVID. Never taken anywhere near that long to recover from a simple cold or the flu. Still had a couple spells this weekend where I felt like I could hardly stay awake, and I could hardly smell anything starting Sunday. Still a bit of congestion, especially in the mornings, but the cough is all but gone and I have my normal energy levels back. Sense of smell came back today as well. Started lifting again on Monday. Only did about 80% of normal weight, but it's a start. Just did cardio again yesterday, but planning to lift again this evening. Hate getting de-railed like this, as it feels like losing 2 weeks ends up setting you back a month. It's like an anti-fitness multiplier. Oh well, at least I'm finally truly on the mend and getting back at it. Being sick like that for nearly half a month fucking sucks. Just saps all of the enjoyment out of life.
  21. Guy put up really good numbers over 68 IP in '22. Was terrible in very limited use (18 IP) last year. May have been injured. Presuming this is a depth move and nothing more.
  22. Caratini to Stros. 2nd catcher pursuit is done, and more importantly, any lingering threat of a Maldy comeback.
  23. The jinx will have to wait another day.
  24. Ugh. Haven't lifted in exactly 2 weeks now. Lingering effects of the flu have sapped my energy dating back to the Sunday before last. Even after the worst symptoms passed, I've had a lingering cough and congestion and have been falling asleep super early and waking up dead tired in the mornings. Managed to do some cardio after work every day this week, but just haven't felt like I have anywhere near enough strength to lift. Longest I've gone all year. That said, trying to look on the bright side. This may have been what I needed to finally rest my arm. Developed a bit of tendonitis in my left elbow over the last several months. On my first set of curls every arms day, it feels like something's about to pop. It loosens up afterwards, but definitely concerning. My lingering cough has pretty much dissipated, and I feel like I'm back to about 90% of normal energy levels. Planning to ease back into normal exercise schedule on Monday. Probably gonna feel weak as hell and may even be sore afterwards, but I can't let much more time pass. Hopefully by the end of December I'll be back to where I was in mid-November.
  25. 60+ year old Tommy Victor still rocking out with Prong. This song sounds like it could have easily come out back in the mid-90's, alongside "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck"
