Here is a fun topic for everyone this morning, but I woke up and chose violence
Who was worse at Texas. Herb Hand or Andre Coleman?
Bobby Jack Wright

Sorry to get off topic, but are any targets on commitment watch at today’s all star game?
No.
Rewatching Breaking Bad right now… in the first episode with Saul, he says, “it wasn’t me, it was Ignacio!” I love how they turned that one line into Better Call Saul.- 1

Well, if this shit is going to continue, I'm going to have to expound on my earlier post and I think we're going to have to give an official name for the denizens of the football board. A few options, off the top of my head:
House StumbleFuck
House HuffingGas
House WaterHead
House ShortBus
House DownGrade
House StumbleFuck 22%
House HuffingGas 11%
House WaterHead 10%
House ShortBus 41%
House DownGrade 15%- 4

User name and all for me but this is the kind of shit Bill Belichick does with the Patriots. He always seems to draft a long snapper and specific guys to be gunners on special teams along with the return specialist type guys. He apparently thinks special teams is a key to a football team's success and makes sure that there are key people in those positions. Not sure if that works in college with the limited scholarships.

I don't think him purchasing them second hand is going to signal anything to the market. They are common af in Mexico, market indicators be damned.
Well, we disagree on the market then.
I will mention it when people talk about sea turtle, pangolin, etc... boots and ALL YOU PEOPLE CAN something something moral high ground!!111!!!

My initial question about sea turtle was because I saw a used pair that was old and pre-ban. Trying to decide whether to purchase
My opinion is it's better to not signal demand to the market by purchasing them. Maybe you'll help reduce loggerhead poaching for people's vanity shoes.
They are a beautiful boot.

Is there a spiritual successor to Dart Bowl for enchiladas?

I use the 1/4# spools of trilene big game for mono. Versatile, cheap, and knots well. I’m pretty liberal about respooling given how inexpensive it is.
I go braid to flouro for 95% of my conventional fishing though. Usually respool the braid every other year or so.- 2

Are we any closer to either A) solving the impending qb room crisis when Casey gets drafted in April and Babyhands transfers to the carnival or B) cracking the Dart Bowl enchilada recipe? I have some work to do today, but it can wait if need be.
B) you have to use Land O Lakes extra melt cheese. Still trying to find the sauce. Mine comes out too dark generally.

I don't think Badmotorfinger was released the same day as Nevermind but I could be wrong about that? I don't remember it that way.
Source: Me, an early subscriber to the Sub Pop Singles Club and an avid Nirvana and Soundgarden fan from 1989/1990.
Looks like it was supposed to be released 9/24 but due to production issues came out a few weeks later. -
On Sept 24, 1991 the following albums were released:
A Tribe Called Quest "The Low End Theory"
Red Hot Chili Peppers "Blood Sugar Sex Magik"
Soundgarden "Badmotorfinger"
Nirvana "Nevermind"
While these might not be these bands' best albums, it's hard to imagine a better set of albums being released on the same day, ever.

Man y’all are doing it the hard way
put line and leader together, parallel, overlapping about 8 inches
make a granny knot (a simple loop) with the two lines where they overlap
run the leader and line thru the loop 4 times
pull line and leader tight to form the knot
trim tag ends
start casting
A quadruple surgeon's knot, never tried that.

+1 for crazy Alberto knot

IT: Recruits React to Texas' 38-18 win over Louisiana
SpoilerIt would be difficult to find many faults in UT’s 38-18 win over the Ragin’ Cajuns on Saturday from DKR-Texas Memorial stadium. From recruits in the stands, to prospects watching on television, the game resonated well with the Texas targets.
OL Connor Robertson, Westlake (Austin, TX) (TEXAS) – 2022:
“It was fricken’ awesome,” said Robertson. “I was so glad to be there. Great to be back in DKR. That was a big win.”
EDGE Derrick Brown, Texas High (Texarkana, TX) (TEXAS) – 2022:
“I loved it,” Brown said. “I can’t wait until I’m playing in (DKR).”
RB Rueben Owens, El Campo (El Campo, TX) – 2023:
“I was great,” said Owens. “Love how their running backs looked. Good, team win. Love the (running backs) coming out of the backfield, catching the ball, and giving them the ball in open space.”
DB Ryan Yaites, Guyer (Denton, TX) – 2023:
“(UT) was a damn good football team,” Yaites said. “Well execution on both sides of the ball. And the defense did a great job.”
DB Ronald “Champ” Lewis, Easton (New Orleans, LA) (TEXAS) – 2022:
“It was great,” said Lewis. “The city, the campus, and the hospitality.”
WR Rohan Fluellen, Gilmer (Gilmer, TX) – 2023:
“Amazing,” said Fluellen. “The fans and game were amazing. And yes, it was very hot.”

The rivers have been high since it rained mostly all of July and my normal spots are still blown out. So, in looking for flowing smallie water, I scoped out a place last Thursday and went to it after work yesterday with my sit on top kayak. About 200 yds downstream of launch, my drag chain got caught and I capsized (PFD was on). I righted the kayak, got it to some water where I could touch bottom, and caught my breath. Luckily I travel very light in the kayak and only lost a spinning rod and chain, but damn, that all happened very fast. Wear your pfd in moving water y'all!
I ended up catching 4 smallmouth and a northern pike.

Been a slow month for river smallies. It’s been raining everyday and the rivers in MA are all blown out. So, we took a long weekend up to Maine and got rained on until yesterday afternoon. We got a couple hours on the river.
Masshole jr caught the biggest fallfish I have ever seen. It was 17”… will have to check Massholita’s camera for a better picture.
Speaking of Massholita, she caught her PB smallie, 14.5”:
I’m making a trip back up here early August sans kids to focus on fishing.- 4

They only had the giant bags of frozen riced cauliflower at the grocery store, so I'll be making all sorts of different versions coming up.
Yesterday did a cajun style, It was good. If you haven't had cauliflower rice before, don't let anyone tell you "it's just like regular rice." It's not; it's very different, but it's still good. Like veggie burgers can be good, but they're nothing like a real burger. If you try to tell me it is, I'll assume you're a fucking idiot.
Recipe; all amounts approximate; used what I had on hand:
Diced the salt pork, rendered the fat, removed.
Put cauli rice in a sheet pan at 400 to dry it out a bit. (This was probably unnecessary)
Added Andouille and chicken to pan, browned it a little.
Added diced vegetables, softened.
Added riced cauli, chicken stock, spices, and a pinch of the browned salt pork.
Reduced the stock by about 1/2, added shrimp, served when the shrimp was done.
