We had the whole family in the closet last night when that system that generated the Madisonville tornado above was heading right at us. It ended up skirting to the north of us but we still had 3.3 in the rain gauge this morning.

Pretty horseshit moderation for sure.
Chucklefucks yammering about cracking skulls are likely in an echo chamber of bullshit as far as information goes. Having their nose rubbed in their own heinous hot takes can’t hurt. And it wasn’t political.

Protest related to the Israel Hamas war on our own campus isn’t news related to the Israel Hamas war?
chickenshit move.
So, because some boot-licking snowflake got his feelings hurt, it’s political?

Just now, royiv said:It’s not even about Palestine. It’s about students assembling peacefully getting attacked by cops unprovoked. If you have a modicum of respect for the first amendment, you should have a problem with the images we’re seeings. Students on college campuses should have the ability to assemble peacefully. Universities are supposed to be a place where differing opinions are debated peacefully without the fear of being beaten down by cops in riot gear.
This.
Maybe I've missed it, but I have not seen any videos of protesters throwing rocks or tearing stuff up on UT campus. You can disagree with the message of the protesters while still acknowledging their right to protest and realizing that this level of police response is completely uncalled for. Unless you're a boot licker who jerks off at a show of force I guess.

Sure Blacklab will come come out of the cloakroom and ban me because my opinion is different so I’ll let you guys beat each other off over free Palestine
Embarrassing.

What a bunch of fucking bullshit. God damn this is infuriating.
I'm just getting caught up on this thread, but I have seen absolutely no evidence that this type of response and show of force was necessary.
Our "leaders" in Texas continue to fail us. Fucking pussies.

I'll have to look more into the Alberto. I know I've tied it before while watching a video, but it's been a while.
@Born to Run what kind of UV glue setup do you have? That sounds handy.

I've used a FG knot too, but I struggle with it unless I'm in my garage out of the wind.
I really prefer to have a knot tying/tie fast tool to do the uni/uni as well. I need more practice to be able to do it quickly while out on the boat.

I got out to the fishing club last week. Fished with clients one day and did pretty good. I spent a lot of time re-rigging and un-boogering gear but they had a blast.
Was supposed to take a different guy on Thursday but he better offered me for a sailfish trip so I went out by myself. I think I caught 38 but nothing bigger than 3 lbs. Good for the soul tho.

I use #30 braid with a 7' fluoro top shot
I've gone to this when fishing clear water for Bass and it does seem to make a difference. Do you use a double uni knot?
The lake I live on is usually pretty stained so I just roll with 30# Power Pro. The fish all get so much pressure that I probably should use a fluoro leader, but I usually don't bother.

Well, to me your dad sounds like a responsible, smart man with experience and wisdom.
He's a brainwashed Boomer who can no longer think critically. I love him dearly, but you're not in great company if your thought processes aligns with his.

You further beclown yourself when you say ignorant ass shit like we can't give them a blank check. Literally no one is suggesting that.

Their boys shoot our guns at Ivan so our boys don't have to.
Fucking this. I've got sons that are 14 and 10 years old. The quoted is essentially what I told my dad when he was spouting the same horseshit <animal><tobacco> is saying here. We either fight them now with our money, our old equipment, and their men OR we fight them later with our money, our new equipment, and potentially my sons. The Russians have made it very clear they don't intend to stop at Ukraine.
The fact that a back bench bitch from Louisiana is holding up a vote on funding is fucking infuriating.

I went the other way - it is hard not to pick Scottie, so I did. My picks are from the pick'em on the Masters website - where are y'all playing?
You can play in a Surly group here
https://www.masters.com/en_US/fantasy/join.html?leagueId=43725&leagueJoinToken=3f86cf5335
Runyourpool.com is the site my buddy is using. They appear to group players by the Vegas odds, so all of your picks would be in group one and you could only use one of them.

I don't hate Keegan in the 5 tier and I'd just take a past champ for 6 like Schwartzel, Bubba or ZJ.
Probably good plays. I think I'll see how many people end up in this pool and if it's smaller I'll go with safer plays like Keegan and Charl. If it gets pretty big then I might need to swing for the fences with riskier plays like An / Dunlap.
Thanks!

Taking my first stab at a Masters pool and Tier 5 and 6 feel like such a crap shoot. I don't like any of these guys to make the cut. Especially if the weather is shit on Thursday and Tiger and Phil have to play 36 on Friday.
Maybe Zach Johnson in 6. I feel like he's got a decent chance to make the cut.
First pass.
It's hard not to take Scottie in the A group, but surely there's no way he can continue the torrid pace he's been on. Right?
This article gave me ideas for the 4, 5, 6 guys. https://golf.com/lifestyle/2024-masters-sleeper-picks-break-out-augusta-national/

Just to reiterate - I first saw this xkcd after the 2017 eclipse, and reading other peoples posts about being in the totality convinced me that I wanted to go to view this in the totality.
So glad I did, my 2 youngest who went to a dark park in Arky are already talking about not waiting until 2040's to see on in the US.
This can't be said enough. I mentioned it already, but we almost didn't leave the house because of the weather and the fact that our house was going to get 98% totality. This thread and comments like this one were the nudge I needed to insist to my wife that we were going even if it was a 50/50 shot that we could even see it.
After experiencing totality, I'd drive a long way and put a lot of energy into a 10% chance to experience it again.

Yep, I listened to a guy on NPR a month or so ago talking about how you should do whatever you can to get in the path of totality, and as deep into it as you can get. He emphasized how precious it is and how you should try to get as much time in totality as possible. He was right.
I could’ve stayed home, gone to the northernmost part of Dublin and seen 1:23 of totality. I could’ve stopped in Delaware and seen 2:35 of totality. Instead I drove on to Marion and got 3:34 of totality. Every extra second of jaw-dropping wonder was worth it. I’m so lucky that I could leave a little after noon and be back around 5:00.
1000%
We listened to The Daily on the way out there and "Mr Eclipse" was talking about how impactful his first total eclipse was on the rest of his life. I honestly thought it was a little much and maybe he was just a wackadoodle. Nope. I get it now. All three of my kids really enjoyed it too. My middle son is skeptical of pretty much everything and I could tell leading up to today that he was happy to get out of school and was humoring me with his interest, but that shit went out the window the moment totality hit.

Did you check out this place? https://www.sulphurspringscamp.com/
It's just up the road from the state park and I've stayed there 3 or 4 times. It's certainly not fancy, but it's got a lot of area for dispersed car camping. We've kayaked down to the park to see the falls and had someone shuttle us back a few times.
