Since Congress willfully allows the private sector to market our data for-profilt, I also suggest maintaining the top-level feature set of Optery or DeleteMe, to let their automation keep your E-mail, phone number, and mailing address out of these databrokers. The least-expensive and hands-off service is EasyOptOuts, as a $20 annual subscription.
Which one of these have you used? I did a little bit of digging through reviews and created an Optery account but I'm a little leery of giving them some of the information they requested.

This sorry SOB pisses me off more than some of the other magats that don't know better. This motherfucker educated at Vandy, UVA Law, and Oxford has the audacity to rail against coastal elites and play rope-a-dope in his fake ass Elmer Fudd accent.
It sure will be a shame when the leopards start to nosh on his face. I bet there's some tender morsels under those jowls.

Steamboat was great today. Initial gondola line was 15 mins or so and we waited in one other bad one at Sunshine Express because the other little lift on that side of the mountain was down this morning. But other than that they were all <5 mins.
This is only the 2nd time for my sons to ski and the powder was an adjustment. They had a few slow motion falls where they caught an edge. I fucking loved it. I didn’t train enough before the trip tho and I’ve got major jelly-leg.

Yeah, the executive branch is responsible for carrying out the law as interpreted by the judicial branch. If they're ignoring the judicial, we're waaaaayyyyyy off the map in terms of civics
These congressmen are giving away all of their power way too easily. I mean, I'm not surprised, but it's still shocking to see shoulder shrugs at the Executive telling the Judiciary to get fucked.

They REALLY don't want to be seen as Trump's stooges. Especially considering Roberts' track record, I see the Supreme Court as delivering the beginning of the end of this Trump/Musk fascist dictatorship cartoon. And I see it all being done with 9-0 per curiam opinions.
I think the pig is out of the pen on SCOTUS not wanting to be seen as Trump stooges. The Colorado ballot case and the immunity decision are pretty hard to overlook. I sure hope you are right, but I tend to lead more to the Brisket school of thought on this one.
Trump and Musk are already ignoring court orders and there are GQP congressmen hand waving it away. There's no one coming to save us. I think it's going to come down to massive protests (with protestors getting shot) and/or a general strike before anyone in the GQP even starts to get queasy.

The court's republican majority is not going to issue a ruling it knows Trump will ignore. They will say it's a political issue and punt.
That's my bet as well. If the case involves Trump breaking the law they will kick it to congress and say impeachment is the only remedy. And we know there's no chance of that happening with the spineless bags of goo that make up the GQP congress critters.

I dunno about the shale…what with re-fracing technology improving over time the production in some benches could hold somewhat steadier after the initial decline.
So I heard.Sure. But there's still a lot more capex required to refrac all those wells. There isn't an endless supply of good rock that can be drained economically at <$65 oil.
Rex doesn't know shit about fuck most of the time, but he's definitely been right on the twilight in the desert coming for the Permian/US Shale oil sooner than later.

Sorry for your loss Brisket. That's a very nice tribute.
Your old man sounds like someone I'd have liked to have a beer and fish with.

He will likely never know nor care, even he hears, that the facsists running the show for him are breaking things.
I think the stock market taking a huge shit MIGHT get his attention enough to try to correct course. But I think the damage will already be done.
Make some room for me on the ledge, I'll bring gummies.

I have purchased 4 Toyotas in the past 15 years or so - 3 4Runners and 1 Taco. Current 4Runner is the 1st w/ under 120K at purchase (105K). 2 of the 3 previous had 225K at time of sale and the 3rd was on it's way before an accident. None were ever in the shop for engine issues. The Taco had an issue w/ suspension and a leaking something or other on one wheel. Other than that, bulletproof.
Thanks for the info. Buying one with ~200k would make me nervous, but maybe it shouldn't. My first car was a '91 4Runner that I drove like a total asshole for 8 years and it was starting to lose pressure in one cylinder when I traded it in with just a shade less than 200k. With the way that I abused that thing it's incredible it lasted that long.

How many miles are too many miles when buying a used Taco or 4Runner for a 16 y.o.? I don't want to spend too much of my time taking it to the shop. 125k? 150k?

The massive increases we've seen in the property market is directly correlated to the massive increases the primary insurance carriers were seeing in the reinsurance markets.
The reinsurance shitshow rolls downhill to pretty much everything else too.
It can be challenging to get the CFO of an energy company to accept that the outcome of the Baltimore bridge claim/Florida Hurricane claims/Cali Wildfire claims can have a significant impact on the premium to insure their assets in the Permian Basin. It's generally all re-insured through the same handful of mega carriers in Europe.
It's hard to get my head around the scale of the damage from this fire. Gut wrenching stuff.

My dad is on a lease out near Junction and they have a hard and fast rule that you have to shoot 2 doe or a doe/cull buck before you can shoot your trophy. The ranch manager enforces it and you lose your spot if you don't follow the rule. My old man is still real mad at them and has a lot of friends and family that will take any sausage he can get them so I think he shot 7 or 8 doe early in the season. He helps his buddies on the lease fulfill their 2 doe obligation every year. The ranch is on a MLDP so they can start early and keep hunting bucks late too. They've had this rule in effect for 5+ years and I think it's improved the quality of trophies, but that could be driven by any number of other factors too I guess.
I'm curious about the duck hunting this year. I live on an East Texas lake and we're usually covered up in Coots by November with good numbers of Canvasbacks not far behind. I've seen very few Coots this year and not a single Canvasback. I thought for sure the big front this week would push a lot of ducks in, but still nothing.

I've been wanting something similar for a while now but never pulled the trigger. My wife got into a car accident 2 weeks ago and someone (body shop, at fault driver's insurance, police?) shared my contact info in a report. I was getting worn out by emails/calls/texts from scammers trying to get me to contact them and give them more information about the accident. Final straw.
Thank you for sharing.
