  1. Einstein’s another good one. This isn’t going to become some sort of Soviet Russia government. What entitlements are breaking the bank?
Income inequality where those at the top have so much money and power which enables them to do things like lobby for their own special laws in government. Or where large corporations with billionaire owners who pay shit wages to those without education or means to get a better paying job. They’ll just get government assistance you pay for anyway. But yea tell the poor fuck who grew up in a shit environment with shit schools and shit leadership or parenting fuck you find another job paying you another buck an hour dumbass. Or go back to school put yourself in massive debt and we hope you find something. If not we’ll fuck you too. Bc not your problem right? Maybe you are taking crazy pills the ones where you value green paper over the lives of the next man. Destroy the environment so we can spit out more useless shit. Nevermind the generations that will follow you. It’s American capitalism. It’s what you know what you grew up with. It’s hard to shake.

All valid points. I hear you.

I don’t have all the answers beyond some basic macro principles.

Taxing individuals beyond say 30% is bad. Let them keep their money.

Only pay for the things you have to have.

Printing money to buy things you can’t afford is evil and generational theft.

    Stuff like that.
  2. And another thing... what the f is income inequality?

You have value. The things you can do provide some value either to yourself in the form of self employed income or to your employer in the form of wages.

Don’t like your pay - do something else.

Don’t like the fact that you as a women or whatever get less than a man - this is false by the way. Go on your own.

It’s like I’m taking crazy pills.

  3. I’ve seen this movie. At UT had a class on the economics of scarcity. Great class. Teacher was a rapid socialist but he was one of the best I ever had. We read Das Kapital and the rest. Same pitch different messenger.

Nothing Bernie says hasn’t been said by Marx and the rest of his ilk.

It’s not income inequality and the rest of the smoke and mirror leftist talking points. It’s the entitlements that are breaking the bank.

    Hard pass.

  4. I held the record in my neighborhood for jumping 6 galvanized metal garbage cans using a ramp I constructed.  I was the only one that would try 6.  We had all the neighbor’s cans in front of our house.

My ramp want an old door on cinder blocks. Yellow banana seat Schwin.

Was the ramp an old door? Bc that would be cool!
  6. I've long had a theory that every American man born in the 1960s has a scar somewhere on his body from some incident where he thought he was Evel Knievel.  Mine is on the lower part of my left knee.

Right elbow. Jumped 6 kids. Crashed into curb.
  7. Must depend on the area, as El Paso is trying to really revitalize downtown.
Anyways, don't know if there's too much to say about UTEP. It's extremely Hispanic, which makes sense, the architecture on campus is phenomenal and fits fantastically with the location, the stadium is old, but has one of the best views in the entire nation on a fall night, and Don Haskins will forever be cherished.
As for El Paso, it feels like it's almost always a decade behind the rest of the state, but there's definitely more of a move towards craft breweries with Deadbeach (the Abuelita stout is probably one of my favorite beers) and Ode, Mesa St is getting a lot more restaurant and bars beyond the normal chains, Chico's Tacos is amazing if you're from there, may not if you aren't, the Chihuahuas are amazing and an USL soccer team is on the way for more action, and the city itself is growing tremendously, particularly on the NE side. It's not a destination city, but if you're from there, it somehow captivates you if you manage to escape.

Westside Coronado grad checking in. Did a summer semester at UTEP between UT freshman and sophomore year. Last time I was home. The campus is pretty. I may have been the only wedo in my calc class.

The last statement by Gabrielshorn is true. You have to get out to appreciate it.
