  1. Texas A&M University to close Qatar campus

The decision comes after an antisemitism think tank alleged last month the Qatar government had control over nuclear research at the branch campus. Texas A&M has denied it.

The nonprofit, which describes itself on its website as a center “dedicated to the academic study of antisemitism,” sent a letter to U.S. officials in January alleging that Qatar had “substantial ownership” of weapons development rights and nuclear engineering research being developed at the Texas A&M campus, which they claim is a threat to national security. The letter came a few months after ISGAP released a 17-page report where it alleged it had discovered a “disturbing relationship between Qatar and Texas A&M University.

  2. The Senate border bill released Sunday night, includes $2.72 billion in unspent grant funding for domestic uranium enrichment, with the goal of bolstering nuclear fuel development. Another $98 million would go to domestic isolation and production of isotopes, a major Russian export.  The border bill has so much crap in it there’s no way in hell it passes the house.  I would like to go nuclear on Congress’s ass.

  3. A Burt Bacharach tune originally recorded by Dionne Warwick.  The lyrics were meant to convey a woman's concern for her man who was serving in the Vietnam War.  I do like Dionne’s version, but Aretha Franklin was like Linda Ronstadt.  When they covered a song, it was money.

Good choice. Already posted on page one. Understandable since it's impossible to do a search when it's just a YouTube link.

I was going to submit the Pixies cover of Head On and sure enough there it was on page one.

I would imagine all the obvious ones have already been posted somewhere in this thread - black magic woman, red red wine, Whitney Houston's cover of Dolly's song, Hallelujah, etc.

I was too damn lazy to read the thread.  So, a big SIAP for All Along the Watchtower and Twist and Shout.  However, have now perused the entire thread and will effort to not duplicate.

  5. It was originally recorded by the Top Notes, but it did not become a hit in the record charts until it was reworked by the Isley Brothers in 1962.  Then, these lads from Liverpool recorded it.

What in the Texans substantial TE draft history encourages you on the latter?

EDIT - Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to save the probably $12MM yearly Schultz is probably going to cost I just don’t see anyone in the FA market who is as reliable a pass catcher and I don’t want CJ to have to be in the position of being perfect (even though he can be) because he doesn’t have many dudes who can get open.

Owen Daniels was a two time Pro Bowl selection.

  7. IBRX’s PDUFA date is in April unless the FDA has decided to go ahead and approve Anktiva…which would be just dandy.  Where there’s success, we’ll see more and more pharmaceutical commercial teams promoting Anktiva as a combination therapy. No idea how big this can be.  GERN has been been notified there will be an Adcom board established to make a recommendation to the FDA regarding Imetelstat.  Boom Shaka Laka Laka.
