I don't follow recruiting at all, but i just saw the 24/7 state rankings and it looked like a&m was cleaning up in state while we only had like three or four guys from the top 30. are getting beat that bad in state or are we getting recruits from elsewhere?

    hahaha, impeccable timing

If he askes out of his NLI, USC going to give it IMO.

They cannot block his transfer period. They could force him to sit out next year though, basically using up his redshirt year.

Not letting him out and every opposing recruiter going to use the "look how they treat the 5* kids"... and you want to go there? Imagine how much they care about you. Recruit parents will not be excited to know that the minute you sign all promises might be null and void.

So you're saying "get out of the NLI" and not "go through the portal process" then?

I guess my question there is whether him sitting out and redshirting in that scenario is up to USC or the NCAA.  For example, Shea Patterson at Michigan- Ole Miss didn't block his transfer, but he still had to petition the NCAA for immediate eligibility, right?

I'm not entirely sure I agree with that.  When you consider the bottom isn't about to be next when you if one takes a look at doesn't mean you haven't, well, I guess that's just another even after the day before irrelevant different is anyone still reading this i am just writing gibberish, too.

Yeah, and has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

  4. Obviously getting ahead of everything with these types of discussions, but..

I'm interested to see (if ANYTHING happens) whether it ends up being Bru trying to get out of his NLI and then withdrawing from USC and enrolling at Texas (is such a thing even possible?) or if it's a more "standard" go into the transfer portal and transfer to Texas, then petition to be immediately eligible.

Not sure what all the rules are involving eligibility when withdrawing from one school and immediately enrolling at another (either with or without an NLI in force), so I'm not sure what the functional difference is between the two scenarios.  Seems like both of them rely on lawyers challenging the ineffectuality of the NCAA, which seems like a decent bet these days.

Maybe the difference is that he gets the lawyering overwith before going to Texas (NLI invalidated), or after (transfer portal then petition for immediate eligibility).  If he got the NLI invalidated, would the fact that he was technically on scholarship at USC for a few weeks mean he couldn't be on scholarship for the spring elsewhere without some sort of intervention?

And what kind of timeframes are we talking?  Is the opportunity for counting him as an early enrollment already gone?

    Anyone have any insight here?

  5. Did I imagine it, or was there a picture of Bru and a USC coach where the coach was doing the “shhh” to talk shit to Texas and Carrington?  Seems like it was hundreds of pages ago.

If this craziness actually happens, somebody should photoshop Carrington over the USC coach in that picture, maybe put them in the happening bunker.

or Bru can just just take the same pic with Carrington when he gets to Texas.

If you think he is going to give you a foothold in Texas recruiting you guys are in trouble. 1. You’re Texas. You don’t need Beaty to have a foothold in Texas recruiting. 2. Look at his recruiting at KU. He stopped recruiting Texas.

The co-OC thing better just be for a pay increase.  Our offense got worse after he fired meachem and took the helm. Tough to do when meach leads you to a 21 yard outing.

Good fucking luck. Friend text me last night “Clemson hires a WR coach and gets two championships and a loaded roster. We hire one and lose 90% of our games for 4 years and are left with no roster and no scholarships.”

pepper your anus. He will not add a damn thing. He might not be a net negative as an assistant but you won’t get your money’s worth out of him.

Yeah but do you even alignment, bro?

An industry source said Armstrong was seeking a buyout befitting “a coach who’s winning 10 or 11 games a year and conference championships.”

Who else does this guy represent?

Because Holgo’s record in the Big XII certainly doesn’t merit that kind of buyout.

Big XII record (overall): 51-38 (avg. 7-5)

    Total wins by year: 7, 4, 7, 8, 10, 7, 8

Big XII record (conf): 33-30 (avg. 5-4)

    best finish: T-2nd

    bowl record: 1-5

I was surprised how mediocre his record was when looking him up. I suppose one could say that he might be better in a non-P5 conference, but given how much noise UH and the frittata made about them being P5 (and in particular big XII) worthy, it seems more like a move that feels splashy at first but maybe not so much once it’s looked at more closely.

They basically have to hope that a step down in competition will let him bump up his results a notch or two.

So perfectly fitting for UH I guess.
