I used this for some fried rice I made the other day and it goes hard:

Was it really sweet? Looks like molasses is one of the ingredients. -

I mean…you can say that, but Knorr powdered bouillon was and is in every real-deal Mexican kitchen I’ve ever been in. It’s one of my “never run out of this” kitchen items.
And yeah, fry rice in oil, add onions, then knorr - that’s the basic Mexican rice I had in every family member’s house my whole life. The variation is using the chicken tomato instead of just chicken, adding peas and/or carrots, maybe adding a bit of salsa to the cooking liquid. But the basics are fried rice, onion, and knorr.Except those bastards at Knorr recently changed the recipe for their chicken bouillon. They added more corn starch and removed the cooked chicken power. I noticed the difference right away after tasting something and without comparing the old label with the new one.

He calls it the Westlake SoHo House as a working title. Not sure if it will even have a name so as to add to the mysterious allure.
he hit all kinda permitting issues but it’s basically just down to punch list stuff and finishing the parking lot at this point. I’d say by May, but who knows given how it’s gone for the last two years.
Was Gatti's in the Trader Joe's center? Is this a ghost kitchen? What kind of food is it?

My friend WS finally assures me that the "Westlake SoHo" on Bee Caves where the old Gatti's used to be is almost ready for delivery. And they'll be offering a smattering of catering/dropoff options. Let's see how that goes.
What’s the story here? -

I remember when the most annoying thing about him was arguing with Mark May and Lou Holtz back in the day.

What a bunch of fucking useless assholes.

UK just won by one in Starkville and they're comparing them to UH?
Correct. Acting like it was a great win. That’s the part of the season we’re in. -

Yes, it's where the pizza place was between the jewelry store and the massage place. Basic internet sleuthing says that the owner used to be a manager at Maudie's and then Cisco's.

I have 2 tickets in Sec 1, Row 3 for Friday if anyone wants them.

Mack, for Dearborn I would make time for the HF Museum. It is awesome. Al Ameer for Lebanese. The Ford Garage is supposed to be very good. There is a sit down Buddy's in West Dearborn. Miller's Bar for burgers is a must. Don't go to Fairlane.
Thanks for the recs!

Yeah, nothing left in or around Ann Arbor. I booked a hotel in Dearborn.

Curious about sentiment on the board: anybody expect Helm to start over Niblack (with Niblack still getting plenty of reps rotating in for passing downs and 12 personnel)? That's where I'm at but maybe it's a minority opinion.

Does she make it like a lot of packaged chorizo with plenty of hog thymus and salivary glands, taint, and lips?
My cousin had a brother-in-law who was a biology professor at UTA. A parasitologist who was an expert in liver flukes. He and wife were great cooks back in the 80’s and would have extravagant dinner parties. In between courses we would play “what is this?” Which was things passed around the table and we’d guess what horrible thing had been found in their food. “You’re all wrong! Thats a pig cornea I found in a hot dog at a Ranger game!”So now you're bitching about/conflating cinnamon, which is staple in interior Mexican food, to offal served by Ferris Bueller's best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend who heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw some meat that something was bad?

Las Palomas makes good food but it's very safe, white texmex.
I wouldn't call it Tex-Mex. Their main combo plate is cochinita pibil with a mole enchilada. There's no Tex-Mex chili gravy, no queso, no tamales, no crispy beef tacos, etc. Which is fine, but it's one of the those schizophrenic interior Mexican places that feels the need to do some Tex Mex (fajitas, nachos, enchiladas) to appeal to the masses, which aren't exactly the best things on the menu.

Apparently Nazis in Ft Worth like them some Torchy's.
