  1. Mack - I'm on the SBMSA Baseball Board. Come play with us. We'll have 450 kids at his level. SBALL will be lucky to have more than a few teams. If you have any questions, hit me up. I'm happy to discuss. One thing about SBMSA - sign up in the 1st week. It will fill up quickly.

Thanks - I will send you a PM
  2. I've been lurking this thread since before Covid. My son is turning 7 in December. He played t-ball as a 5 year year old with mostly 6 year olds. He wasn't the best player on the team, but was solidly the 3rd best. I was one of the assistant coaches, and we had a great time, except for the fact that his team was just abysmally terrible (and the other teams constantly violated the rules in place that were to ensure fair competition). He's always been hyper competitive, so being the Bad News Bears was very discouraging for him, so he wanted to take some time off from playing baseball again and then Covid happened.

Putting aside the reemerging Covid situation, he really wants to start playing again, and registration for spring coach pitch is around the corner. We're in Houston zoned to both Spring Branch -- Memorial Sports Association and Spring Branch Little League. Does anyone have experiences/opinions regarding the pros/cons between the two? Part of the difference appears to be a USSSA vs USA Baseball situation, which I know nearly nothing about other than the bat spec issue.

Had the gas plumbed in as part of new construction so I couldn’t tell you on that front. I’ll ask the builder though.

Whole kitchen was 12k but 3500 of that was the very particular stone I wanted for the counter and I bought the entire slab. Probably overpaid by a thousand or two but I wanted the job done right away and the value builders were estimating a 6 week wait and throwing around the idea of cinderblock and wood frames lol.

    Thanks - looks good.

  4. Thanks yea we went without the sink for now. This is what we ended up with which is probably more functional than aesthetically pleasing but whatever.

I’m thinking of putting in something similar. About how much did that cost? Did you have to run a gas line very far?
  5. Masraff’s, Treebeard’s, and Texadelphia are all open now at 10 and Bunker Hill. The latter two face Gaylord St. Tiny’s Milk and Cookies is opening soon in the same spot.

I’ve only tried Treebeard’s so far since they were the first to open, and after getting take out twice I found it much better across the board than the downtown locations. No one is going to mistake it for Brennan’s but it was better than the last couple of times at Ragin Cajun.

I really know next to nothing about electric cars.  But if the range is something like 250 miles for the jag version, what do you do when you need to drive to Dallas from Houston for example?  Do you just have to stop 75% of the way there to sit and watch it charge? I guess just plan around it and take a different vehicle?

How long does it take to charge up say 25-50%?

You can charge from 25-50 percent at a Tesla supercharger in the time it takes to go inside a convenience store for a restroom break and to get some drinks/snacks for the road. At least my Long Range Model Y does.

I hope he wins. He is innocent and has been fucked over by both the Astros, Manfred and MLB, especially. I can see why Crane got rid of him to appease the media and avoid blowback from his sponsors and corporate suite owners. Still he should have waited until the report came out which exonerated him in my opinion

There is no such report coming out, and your endless defense of Luhnow and the whole situation is over the top. Luhnow's lawsuit will likely be dismissed, and if it initially survives, I seriously doubt Crane and Kibbe (the GC) will have any interest in settling.  You should try to move on from all of this.

  8. “Codebreaker” and “dark arts” aren’t illegal.  It’s smart analysis.  The line is crossed when it is used to relay information in real time during games.  It’s not clear anywhere that Luhnow knew  that was happening.  Like I’ve said before, he came off as very genuine in the KPRC interview last week.  I also think that a lot of the “toxic” environment claims sound like an unwillingness to embrace a new way of doing business mixed with sour grapes.  Some owner (not necessarily baseball) is going to hire him and build a winner.

There’s no way Luhnow didn’t know what was going on. The MLB investigators, some of whom were former federal prosecutors, had multiple sources who said Luhnow knew. His interview was full of deflection, logical inconsistencies, and what appear to be half truths. He says MLB called him and said there were rumors of the Astros sign stealing but he didn’t do anything to look into it because they didn’t affirmative ask him to do anything? You gotta be fucking kidding me.

And even if, for the sake of argument, that he somehow didn’t, MLB had put all GMs on notice that they would be held responsible for violations of the sign stealing rules. So at minimum, he should have known. Hell, I went to a bunch of regular season games that year where I was sitting behind home plate or first base and could clearly hear the bangs. Of course at the time I had no idea what they were, but Luhnow could certainly hear the same thing from the owners box just a few feet away.
  9. my official testing says that HCF crispy crowns are better than ore ida extra crispy tater tots.
HEB kosher salt box not as good as morton due to lack of actual pour spout.  doesn't matter so much if you're pouring out 1/2 cup at a time, but there's little precision with it.

  10. So a couple days ago I’m at Lowe’s getting some shit and I get a notification on my phone that my car alarm is going off. I go outside and apparently some mouth breathing neanderthal had rammed my car with a shopping cart, leaving a steak of paint on my door.

What’s the best way to get this off? After googling, I tried goo gone and WD-40 which didn’t work that great. I got a decent amount off but it required scraping it off with my thumbnail. At this rate I will be left with bloody stumps for thumbs.
