The aggy wife is a Truex fan.  After Tony retired, I've sorta gravitated towards Kyle Larson.  I like the fact that he'll get behind the wheel of anything.

Don't sell the short tracks short.  They are much better to watch in person.  My personal fave is Darlington.  I've been to most everything on the East and South.

Bristol is definitely on my bucket list.

On a related note I always chuckle at these high end dog food commercials. That little precious filthy animal that you think needs free range organic chicken curated and massaged by Cuban virgins will turn around and eat his own vomit right in front of you.

That way he gets to eat that special chicken twice.

If the issue is that there aren't yet enough guns everywhere to prevent mass shootings, why don't they just pass out guns everywhere? Go out to eat, collect your gun at the door (provided you don't have one already, of course). Same with sporting events, schools, etc. The logic is sound, IMO.

This was also Archie Bunker's solution to all of the airplane hijackings back in the 70's so it has to be the solution.

I met my uncle and cousin there. They’re Austinites and used to know the people that lived in the house when it was a house, so it’s a favorite of theirs.
Food is good, basic. Fries are very good.

    Glad to hear that.

Everything I ever ate there was great. I need to go back.

Anything in the house that unnecessarily makes noise.  The parents have a grandfather clock and a cuckoo clock that compete with each other for your attention every hour.  They have a landline phone that robotically announces the name of the caller when the phone rings in an annoying robotic voice.  This is making me surly today because I was at their house yesterday to install their Ring doorbell so they can have something else to make noise, and we had a perfect symphony of Westminster chimes, cuckoos, WIRELESS CALLER, and the ring doorbell while I was making sure it worked.

Not only in the house but fucking anywhere.

Like a co-worker constantly clicking their pen for no reason.

Someone smacking while eating with their mouths open.

Someone smacking gum and popping bubbles. (I will kill you if you do this around me)

A rice rocket car driving down my street. I can hear it for miles after they leave.

Now get off my fucking lawn.

Almost got run over by a 90-something guy driving an explorer on Thursday night around 7 pm while crossing the street by Hyde Park Bar & Grill off Duval in Austin. He did not see the stop sign or me. I’m glad I was watching him. His wife saw me after they’d gone halfway into the intersection and apologetically waved. Somewhere he’s got kids who want to take his keys away from him.

    Is HPB&G still good ?

I have not been there in years. Some of the best fries I have ever tasted.

I'm currently waiting at a restaurant because my wife mis-read the text and drove 30 minutes the wrong direction to a different restaurant. She was already running late - because she's always running late - so now our 6pm dinner might happen at 7. Maybe.

Going out to dinner on Valentine's Day is like going out on New Years Eve.

    Rookie.

Playing drums in Ringo's band has to be similar to playing drums in Foo Fighters.  (No doubt Keltner was up to the task, but talk about pressure.)

First time I saw Ringo and his All-Star band was at Aqua Fest.

His son Zachary was the alternate drummer when Ringo came out front to sing.

The rest of the band was Burton Cummings of the Guess Who on keyboards.

Timothy B Schmit of the Eagles on bass.

Joe Walsh of the Eagles on guitar.

    Nils Lofgren on guitar.

That show was amazing and each band member did a couple of songs from their original bands.

The first one they did was No Time by the Guess Who. The crowd went nuts as did I.

I will never forget that show.

Ringo's All Starr Band with Ringo Starr, Dr. John, Billy Preston, Joe Walsh, Clarence Clemons, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Jim Keltner and Nils Lofgren

That is some serious fucking talent right there.

  10. This needs a bump.....

TV Land shows TAGS every afternoon from 3 to 6.

I started watching all of those early series episodes again and they are so fucking good.

Brilliant writing. All of the guest stars are great and of course all of the regulars are as well.

I have a lot more respect for Frances Baviar (Aunt Bee). She is absolutley brilliant in this series.

She also plays a good drunk. There are a couple of episodes where she accidently gets drunk and she is brilliant.

Barney also plays a good drunk in a couple of episodes as well.

This is the greatest 30 minute television show in history in my opinion.

  11. I have always kind of been a Hendricks fan because of Jeff Gordon in the 24.

That season when he kept winning races it caught my attention. Plus it was right around the time TMS opened.

I really was not into NASCAR until then. I always watched the Daytona 500 but not many other races before that.

Then I went to the race in the second season of TMS and became totally hooked.

I like Kyle Busch too because that mother fucker just wants to win. He is always pissed off if he comes in second. I kind of like that attitude.

I sit in the suites on the NEZ side from time to time, and that big bar/dining area is awesome. But they have pretty much the same stuff over there including loading up food trays with hot dogs, hamburgers, and popcorn that they just leave out for people to walk by and grab. The big buffet in the club level is decent, but it is usually fajitas with accompanying flair.

I will never understand people that go to a game or a movie and have to eat.

Fuck that. All I need is beer. I will eat after the game.

I see these people eating a huge plate of BBQ or something an hour and half before kickoff. I would be miserable if I did that.

Same with a movie......you can't wait for 2-1/2 hours to eat something?

Popcorn is fine but I see people with a tray full of shit and of course they are always fat fucks.

    Same, but strawberry.

I did the same thing with the non-frosted strawberry too.

    My two favorites by far.

They did not even have frosted ones when I was a kid that I remember.

  15. So Daytona begins today with pole qualifying and the twins are tomorrow.

Trucks on Friday with ARCA and Xfinity on Saturday and of course the 500 on Sunday.

Good chance of rain Friday through Sunday right now.

How often did Mrs. Brat ride the train?

Oh we rode it together multiple times......

My dad had worked as a watch repairman for the the guy that owned the Chief and Burnet drive-ins as well as owning the Texas Theatre on the Drag and the Aquarius 4, Southwood and the Americana on Hancock.

He sent us a Circuit Pass every year that was good for free admission for 2 anytime.

    It was great.
