Stadium looks like it’s finally filling now. Stupid Thursday night games.

Patterson is TCU's Bill Snyder. He's going to get a statue and a street named after him for turning around a program that was complete shit for 4 decades into a national powerhouse.
QuoteHe has a statue.
Yup. It would take a LOT for him to leave at this point - more than is probably realistic (it ain't just about the money). He's also pushing 60.

Seeing a lot of chatter about this on Twitter tonight. Hope it’s wrong, but she hasn’t been in great health for a while.

We are Texas Crew
We are the University of Texas at Austin student-run club rowing team. We row on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, TX six days of the week at 5:15 in the morning. We strive to promote athletic excellence within our school and to promote the sport of rowing in our community. Every year our student athletes outperform themselves both on and off the water, balancing their dedication to the team with their studies in college.
What Happened?
Our boats were in transit to Oklahoma City for the Stars and Stripes Regatta on June 22nd. An accident on the road ended up with us losing three boats, oars, and our trailer. Luckily, no one was hurt in the accident. We ended up losing some of our most valuable equipment, which we desperately needed for the upcoming Fall rowing season.https://www.gofundme.com/texas-crew

OP should listen to this episode of This American Life, in the hopes it will help him understand why diversity programs are important. It's not just about recruiting - it's about helping kids from diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds to succeed once they get to college, instead of falling through the cracks and dropping out due to being in an environment that feels foreign and lack of a support system, among other reasons.

And don't give me any "they just need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and work harder" bullshit. It's so much more complex and nuanced than that.

Trivia: TCU head coach Jim Pittman died on the sideline during a game vs. Baylor in 1971.
