Holy god we got lucky they didn’t seed us at 5 or Tech at 11. They gave us some help with the 6 seed and Clemson at 11 instead

    SEC SEC SEC

I would have bet money that we would have gotten Tech in the supers. LSU is double fucked, but at least they have Beth to coach em out of it. I believe the SEC will put at least 6 in OKC. FSU is a wild card, as they are playing inspired softball for coach Alameda.

I get it Vivi is good but some of these talking points are painting her like she was Vince young or Colt McCoy. Yes she was a top 5 player on this team but to say she would’ve saved us from all of the problems this team has showed all year is pretty crazy.

No matter how good Vivi was she had nothing to do with pitching and the downward spiral they have had the last three years, or how some of our hitters (Stewie) has regressed

I do believe MW is a top coach but I also believe he got complacent, he didn’t go after better coaches, better players or better development and if he’s the coach he should’ve said something if Mac and others are eating their way to the bench. One thing that caught my attention was how the announcers mentioned how the A&M players stayed all summer because they were on a mission. Why is that not Texas!? What did we win for us to feel like we made it?? Yes that’s on the players but ultimately that’s the coach. Sark demands excellence and always mentions how he has that fire because we haven’t won shit at Texas even though we’ve made the final four two years in a row. Just my thoughts

yes he went after the Stanford Pitcher but it was also other great players out there and we’ definitely could’ve did better than Katie Bennett. I love how Sark approaches it - yea even though we have good players you still go out and try to recruit the best because you never know what can happen. (Injuries, transfers, Etc)

ViVi’s presence immediately fixes the defensive woes this team has had in the middle infield. It also makes the lineup 7 deep, which is more than any other team in the country. It moves Maloney back to the bottom of the order, which is where she belongs, turning things over and getting us back to the top of the order. Kavan, even with her late season slide is a top 5 pitcher nationally.

You realize this team has been one of the final two teams playing the last two years…right?

Agree, but MM has always been a dropball pitcher.  She used to be able to throw it reliably for a strike at the knees, so you couldn't just lay off. She had the lowest WHIP on the team last year, even with only one deadly pitch.  But that's gone now.

On a more macro level, how has the staff not worked with her in 3 years to develop a decent rise to pair with her dropball?  If you take Kennedy at TAMU, by contrast, she came into college as a pretty standard lefty curve ball pitcher.  But now she has a full arsenal of pitches and just got drafted into proball.

Even the announcers were shocked she wasn’t getting the low strike call.

Every single bit of this. If this team doesn't shape up pronto (highly unlikely) and then, come fall, have much better talent at several positions (besides Vivi) and better coaching, we might realize Mike White is just a much more likable Tom Herman. By that I mean way better than the previous HC, but not the ultimate answer as a roster builder, tactician or leader. Although I'm honestly not sure who out there would be.

This is categorically incorrect. Mike White is a top 5 coach in the country. His record proves that. 6 of our 9 hitters are elite and Kavan is a true ace. Mac ate her way out of effectiveness, Citlaly has always been a 3, but is now forced into the 2 spot thanks to Mac and Cambria is a highly rated freshman, who everyone in the country recruited. The loss of ViVi changed the entire lineup, defensively and offensively as well. Katie Bennett is a pinch runner if ViVi stays healthy. They shit the bed last night, and I am worried they peaked to early, but the season ain’t over yet.

They wont. You are overrating them when we are throwing our worst pitchers tonight. We will not be relying on BigMac or Cambria at all when it counts in the postseason. It will be the Kavan and Citlaly show. What an absolute failure Morgan has been this year, she should be embarrassed.

She ate her way out of the rotation. Mike remembered her shutting the ags down last year and trotted her out there. He should have made a move after the 3rd batter when it was only 0-3

This is an issue for all the pitchers.  They don't change speeds for strikes enough.  You have to have that threat unless you throw upper 70s.

LOL. There are literally about 10 women in the entire world who can touch 75 on the radar gun.

the pitching coach is flat awful in calling games.  Morgan didn't throw one inside pitch or anything reasonably off speed that I saw.  It was all nibbling on the outside corner or  meat over the middle of the plate.

also, we are like a David Pierce staff we have pitchers that top out at 68, like a baseball staff with guys who throw 92 max.  it is just meat to good and not even great lineups if you don't have movement or change of speed.

Mac had one pitch, the drop ball. When the ags showed they could lay off the low ball Mike should’ve made the change. She is throwing batting practice at that point.

We do love that high cheese

I was most disappointed in our slappers in that series. Their inability to put the ball in play and force Tenn to play defense really hurt us.

Arky wins 6-1. First semis set for OU and Arky

This should be a great game. Seeing how Gasso approaches the beast that is Bri Ellis will be entertaining. She is the best player in the country and it isn't close.

To be fair, I don’t think they had much trouble with her in the regular season series they won 2-1

To be fair, lots of teams hit her.....just not us. She has a tendency to overthrow which affects her control and takes some spin off her other pitches. Texas chased her rise ball all weekend which ended up exactly how one would think it would.

I also am curious how effective Lopez will be.

I know softball pitchers can pitch multiple days, easily, but Lopez did throw 98 against Missouri on Tuesday and 101 against Florida yesterday.   You could tell she was a little more fatigued yesterday (5 walks and 2 wild pitches in 4.1 IP).  Not only that, she started, went to the dugout and then came back in yesterday.

Will be about 80 degrees at gametime with 50% humidity

She also appeared to be wearing sports tape on her pitching elbow. I am guessing she has some soreness.

A bunch of players voting with their feet might send the AD a message. Maybe Fall's most likely to bolt, given that she's a SE Texas girl. Of course, Plotts is the obvious plum. Her being a hometown player from Lexington could make her a tough pull, but I'd love to see Texas try.

The players won’t revolt on Lawson. She is a nice lady…. But a shitty coach

Deep down you all know Tech is getting sent to Austin

This is exactly my thought as well. Texas will have to find a way to score 3 runs off Canady, because I don't think Tech would get more than 2 off of Kavan.

I don’t see how a top 3 SEC team with a top 8 RPI doesn’t get a top 8 seed. Beating Florida to open the SECT would cement it

Texas will surely get a top 8. The real question is where do teams like Nebraska and Texas Tech go for supers? Facing Bahl or Canady at least twice in a three game series is to tough ask.

You laying odds on Beth the Underachiever getting the axe?

I was in Baton Rouge  2 weeks ago and was told by some locals that if Beth doesn’t get them to the WCWS that she would be fired. She will burn it down in a way that would make Jimbo jealous on her way out.

What's the competitive set for this unofficial title? To me she's far less annoying than Stoops or Riley. Doesn't mean she's one of my favorites people, but my impression is that she doesn't really run her mouth. That said, the histrionics of many of her players have annoyed me greatly.

Patty is a cut throat, arrogant bitch. The worse part is that she flashes that Mr Ed smile and hides her true self behind the illusion of being a bible thumper. Her kids have been mediocre as coaches when they have tried to ween themselves from momma’s teets. Her players actions are a reflection of their coaches true self.

Is Gasso the least annoying championship BlowU coach ever? I don't have the urge to punch her face.

Trust me when I say you are in the minority. I would love nothing more than to punch her big ass horse teeth out.
