It would take more than that to keep me in Klein's system. He's never even had a WR with 750 yards receiving and Malik Knowles was a very good college receiver that would put up big numbers in a different offense.

He's never had "Wonder Boy" Weigman at QB either.

Kansas St side is saying that they heard A&M offered 3x his current salary(825k). Guess we will see later today.

If they offered $2.5 million a year for Klein they are fucking beyond stupid. That would probably make him the highest paid OC in college football and he's not even a top 15 OC.

I think they are paying Klein $1 Million to coach offense and Evan Stewart $1.5 Million to stay. That is probably where the 2.5 number came from.

I've never heard his speed questioned. Someone else can speak up if they're a film geek.

I think speed at S has been the biggest issue for our secondary. Williams is going to continue to develop into a cure for a lot of our ills, but they need more. Thompson and Taffe are slow. Catalon was slow. Crawford doesn't know what in the fuck he is doing. We need speed and some instincts back there and that hopefully unlocks more courage in terms letting the CBs walk up.

If you say they're slow, I will take it with a grain of salt. Not everyone can run a 4.3 like you sir.

Yea, I think there may be a bump in the program as result of getting slighted this year as well.  It will interesting to see what they become in the next several years.

Whatever they become will hinge upon Norvell's ability to find a QB that can play Div 1 football. The guys he has now, ain't it. He will need to secure a Cam Ward type to keep this train rolling. Let's not forget that they lose their QB, top 2 WR, RB, and 1/2 their defense including Verse. Several of those guys will be day one selections in the draft, and you don't just plug and play replace that type talent.

This is fucking hilarious.  They paid a boat load of money to buy a bunch of mercenaries that did not want to be there in the first place but their offers were so far beyond market value at the time, kids were reclassifying to get some of that money.  They also extended an already ridiculous contract for Jimbo.

Texas ends up accomplishing something they never could, making the CFP.  This was too much for them.  They stupidly fire their HC in a panic with no fucking game plan and exhaust their funds on this contract to where they limit themselves on their next HC hire.  What decent head coach, coordinators, or assistant coaches wants to walk into that dumpster fire knowing they have a Jimbo's shit to clean up and now doing that against Texas that is back on top.  It took FSU nearly a decade to get out of the fucking dumps with what Jimbo left and that was with a down Miami and Florida.

So they proceed to bring back their previous DC, who really wasn't all that great to begin with.  They lose their best assistant that is holding their roster together.  And their solution is to just pay those players more so they don't leave.  Well... that only works to a certain extent.  At some point, these sophomores know they have 1 year left to put good tape before the draft.  Most will likely take less money to get out of the dump.  The only ones that will stay will be the ones that don't have a future NFL on the line and the only reason they will be staying is to cash a check.

Texas has been through this guys.  We've hired G5 coaches that brought shitty staff with them.  We've had rosters full of guys that came to Texas for the wrong reasons.  We've seen first hand what it's like crawling out of the dumps against rivals that are winning and have momentum.  Enjoy this fellas.  This is going to be a long journey for them.  There's only so much money their donors are willing to put up for a shit product.  Nothing about Elko is inspiring to recruits, assistants, coordinators, or the donors.  There will be a decade of aggy tears to come.

Would you say Elko is their Willie Taggert?

Whichever staff handles the distractions better can prepare better.  I loved seeing Vince on TV yesterday.  I don't know if Vince has 100% access to the team, but he sure can help the players stay focused, I believe.  lm sure everyone here remembers Vince "Whoever wants to beat Ohio St. show up at xxx hour". Obviously I don't remember the exact quote but the Ohio St. victory and the Alabama victory this year are comparable.

I am not personally in favor of any additions to play packages.  I think the team changed when Brooks went down.  I remember typing that when he went down we weren't going to win the Big12 without him.

Did Sark really discover over the middle passes after Brooks went down?  I have seen a few over the middle passes since Brooks.  I think Washington will have trouble preparing for all we can do offensively.  And Ewers hasn't run the ball, except for the one run yesterday, since getting injured, so with him 100% healthy that is another aspect Wash should prepare for.

This team reminds me of possibly only two teams, the 2004 and 2008 teams.  No team should ever be compared with the 2009 team, being held together by a dominant QB and one receiver on offense.

I believe both the 2004 and '08 teams had a will to win and a next man up philosophy this team has.  This team has improved vastly as the season went on much better than any of Mack's teams.  I think this team is much more versatile on offense.  This team has enough good RBs to run the wishbone, and enough really good receivers to run the run and shoot.

Of course none of that matters.  At this point, there are only three factors remaining.  Luck, injuries, and the football gods.  And we all know the football gods owe us big time for January 2010.  It is payback time.

I don't know about over the middle, but Sark has found ways to get Whittington the ball the last few weeks, and that is a difference maker for this offense. He is good after the catch, and can be a reliable 3rd down target when teams take away Worthy and Mitchell. The offense is peaking at exactly the right time. Sark has proven to be very good when he has a long period to gameplan for a specific team, and I expect this game to be no different. I think Texas wins this one by double digits, and then we will see what happens in the Championship.

Ok serious question I’m not going to go through the effort of organizing something for less than 500 people showing up this time because everyone is just gonna do their own thing then go to the game. There’s nothing wrong with that but I’m investing a significant amount of time already in this and I’m getting a pretty mixed response.

If there is a full game day experience package I can put together that includes food and beverage from 11AM to 5PM and either transport or a second line to take everyone to the stadium. Would people be in for $150 per person? This will include a donation to TOF or Burnt Ends your choice. This will include live appearances by Bobby Burton and the On Texas Football live show guests, likely some former players and coaches etc and of course a place full of longhorns.

I am not attending the game, but I would be in for 3 @ $150 zig you can swing this.
