  1. I thought that was why we came to this site in the first place....
  2. Goddammit!...I hate that ....when a sports writer doesnt have a clue what else to write he says ....so and so is more comfortable .....AAAARRRRRGH!...What in hell does that even mean? I want the bastards to play football and have no mercy on the other guy. Comfortable my ass!
  3. ....poor Texas fan base...we are like winos trying to come out of the haze of Koolaide...We emplore the football team...a song on our lips.... Treat me mean and cruel treat me like a fool but love me... wring my faithful heart tearing it all apart just love me...........ohhh yeah
  4. all this time you have been riding them backwards?
  5. I have been thinking about those comparisons a page or so back between Aikman and Ewers. At first I was thinking ...wow!...if only...... Then I remembered that Aikman at Ewers age was a 3rd string wishbone QB whose coach liked him so much he helped him transfer....
  6. what is the sign at the Store in Study Butte?.......something like....This is the place where brilliant minds pool ignorance with questionable logic in order to form absurd conclusions...... Sounds like Surly to me....
  7. before or after he tore up his ankle?
  8. I get that we have crappy O linemen. However, I have to believe that with decent coaching even crappy O linemen ought to be able to act in concert to somewhat disrupt the defense. Last year every play looked like we had drawn in up in the dirt in the huddle and "sprung" assignments on the Oline. For that reason alone I think we might be a bit better. Surely in 2 years our vaunted coaching staff might be able to teach some basic skills..... Jesus!.....what was I thinking? Our Line?....skills?....Doom!
  9. Welcome to Texas Elon....but if you want the Texas look, start shopping at the Saddle Shop in Kingsville (King Ranch store) and leave that Rodeo Drive crap to the Californias....
  10. Icant edit, but I ought to neg my own ass for writing McCoy when I very well knew the guys name was Ted Coy...
  11. I agree ....the above ought to be chisled in stone somewhere after reading the above selections hell, how about Bertelson, Woster and McCoy to the groups as well?....
  12. I understand what you are saying, but if you have a guy that can gain yards every time blocking or no, and you never take out of the game, anyone else is irrelevant. However, point taken, we are loaded at RB.
  13. I am sorry, but the best RB we have ever had was Earl Campbell and who ever else was playing RB at the same time.
  14. I heard from a guy today that was at practice....He said Ewers was way ahead of Card....said that there was not a throw Ewers could not make. That was the good news. The bad news was that the only guys on the team that could catch at all were the RB's. He said we might have the best RB room in the country. That was the good news. The bad news was that the OL was terrible. He said they did not cast shadows because they cant even block sunshine. now send me those 9.95 checks please....
  15. Come on man....I was talking hypotheticals....but I will admit you are correct.
  16. If Don Knotts is a DL and Tiny Tim is the opposing OL, and they battle to a stand still does that mean they are both stellar? I didnt think so either....
  17. dont know if this works
  18. did you ever get to see Earl when he knew a hit was coming?....He would cock his head back and knock crap out of the tackler with it.
  19. give me a break....I am old and cant spell Cat twice in a row without help
  20. No love for Thujon?
  21. I was thinking he forgot C.Jones...Karik..Angelou... and friends...
  22. was Patrick Vahe an early enrollee?....I thought he was a starter his Freshman year.....Come to think of it the extra training might have helped.... Conner Williams as well....
  23. the astros used to have this right fielder named Hunter Pence. He had the worst looking rag arm sideways throw you ever saw. Every opponent would take extra bases every time he got the ball.....until they began to notice the throws were almost always right on the money accurate. He led the league in put outs. The point is....it shouldnt make a damn how the ball is thrown as long as it gets there.
  24. I get where you are coming from, but even still he is the only Texas QB to date that never lost a game in like 20 or so starts. Would I take him over VY or Colt or Bobby Layne? Maybe not, but none of those guys could have done any better than he did.
  25. y'all may not remember but perhaps the best QB to ever grace the 40 acres (20 straight starts....all wins and absolute nails on every big play....James Street) did not even get to start until his junior year. IDK if he was good or bad before that time, as I never saw him take a snap before then. I am beginning to think we as a group are beginning to take this spring training crap more seriously than aggy.
