Rewatched the part about the second amendment. Beto owned that interchange for anyone with half a brain.

Unfortunately there are too many rural Texans with half a brain.

I think Beto missed an opportunity - when Cruz suggested the Republican Party is the party of equality and of Abe Lincoln, Beto should have said "If you think that today's Republican Party bears any resemblance to Abe Lincoln you probably believe that Amber Guyger shouldn't be fired."

Anyone who believes the Republican Party is best in 2018 for blacks because Lincoln was a Republican is a moron.

    it's a horrible strategy

He's going to lose. The Dems will pour all their money into him and ignore downballot. The Dems will lose those, too, because they aren't investing in them. They won't have a bench in Texas.

    Dems are garbage.

    What are Republicans?

I may be lame but I’m fine with give em hell, give em hell, go horns go. And of course OU sucks day of and game before if winning by a good margin.

I may be old here but we sang "Hail! Hail! The gang's all here and it is goodbye to all the rest!"

That right there is where Cruz’ base will have a hard time not voting for him. They can hate him in every other way, they can hate Trump, they can become open to Beto’s appeal, but they will dig their heals in to keep those AR-15s.

Beto's position is to stop the sale of AR-15 type weapons but not confiscate them if you currently own one.  I do get your point though.

Yes there is a threat that Beto is the start of Texas turning purple but a red state can have a dem senator.   Beto could very well win this year and lose in 6 years.   Texas is still a long way off from reliably voting Dem.

True, but in six years a lot of Boomers will have passed and a lot of young Texans will have reached voting age. The key for Dems is getting the young vote to the polls as they lean blue. That, and getting Hispanics to overwhelmingly vote blue.

it's not a popular thought because it is completely untrue.  Yes, she was "qualified" in that she had held government jobs.  That said, he work product was an absolute failure making her completely unelectable to anyone who valued being good at performing the jobs where one gained their experience/qualifications.  It also didn't help that she's an extremely unlikeable, narcissistic c*nt.  Guess she and Trump were at a stalemate, or cancelled each other out on that front.

As for Rand, hes a despicable politician who has been corrupted and fallen into the Washington trap that all the rest of them fall into.  He's nothing more than an establishment cancer at this point.

We all have opinions. Why do so many state their opinions as facts?

  9. Republicans are like aggy with their holier than thou attitude. They think that all Democrats want welfare and free stuff from the government and they see themselves as morally above Democrats. It has always pissed me off.

And they are so full of themselves that they still feel this way after they elected and approve of Trump after all of the crap he has done.

Why?  What about Beto makes you want to come out?  I suspect you’ll be disappointed if he gets elected just the same as Obama did to so many people.

"I suspect you'll be disappointed if he gets elected just the same as Obama did to so many people" Hilarious in so many ways. Obama getting elected disappointed the Trumpkin types. Is that supposed to be a surprise?

And  have you consider how many people who got disappointed when Trump got elected? Lots of potential Clinton voters stayed home because everyone thought she was going to win.

And have you considered how many people who have gotten disappointed in Trump's election who voted for him thinking he would pivot and act like an adult?

    Thanks for the laugh.

One of the strangest dynamics of this forum is Hugo’s love and defense of Mama Hillary. 99% of Dems admit she was a bad candidate who sucked but Hugo dies on her hill everytime...and I hate that saying.

I know plenty of Democrats who loved and still love Hillary Clinton and considered her a great candidate. I agreed with President Obama that she was as well qualified as any candidate in history. This is not a popular thought here but I'm going with much less than 99% of Democrats admit she was a bad candidate.
