  1. These young guys don’t really have anything to lose. It’s not like the LIV guys are going to get lifetime bans. So the LIV folds after a few years, they get to bank a ton of easy money instead of grinding to make cuts. And they come back to basically the same place they left off with a pile of cash in the bank. Wolff has missed 6 of his last 10 cuts and finished T25, T40, T60, T61. Hes dropped from 12th to 77th in the OWGR the last two years. He’s earned $1.4 million this year and probably got offered 10x that to jump.
  2. 13 LIV players from the last tournament plus Reed and Bryson qualified for the US Open: DJ - T24 Richard Bland - T43 Reed - T49 Bryson - T56 Phil - MC Sergio - MC Oostie - MC Kevin Na - MC James Piot - MC Taylor Gooch - MC Brandon Grace - MC Sam Horsfield - MC Jinichiro Kozuma - MC Jed Morgan - MC Shaun Norris - MC All except Bland will lose rank in the OWGR.

  4. Not just them, but Rory and Rahm too. They both played themselves out of it, but to battle off 1, 2, & 3 OWGR players on Sunday at the us open is damn impressive.
  5. Holy shit. The fucking goal posts being the exact width of the opening between the trees. Guys, if you weren’t sure, hit it between the trees.
  6. Love the short par 3. Was hoping the green would stay hard. It was playing over par through 3 days.
  7. The short par 3 set up at 108 today and the green is soft.
  8. Greame McDowell saying in his post round interview that he hasn’t heard if half the guys he’s playing against this week. -supposedly, Reddit.
  9. From what Reddit said the LIV website didn’t even have a leaderboard.
  10. Maybe, but other than DJ, no one who is crushing it has bailed.
  11. Bryson’s thoughts often don’t line up with reality. He thought he could overpower Augusta and some people actually believed him when he said it was a par 67 for him. He’s gone T34, T47, MC since then. I’m not saying he’s finished at competitive golf. He’s just not healthy enough to be good right now. He got offered a bunch of money to play against a field of mostly scrubs. He has to be better than the 72nd ranked golfer to finish top ten. He might not make the cut with that on the PGA tour. So he can beat up on scrubs and get paid while he works out the problems with his body.
  12. Every single one of the top guys on some level of a downward trend. The group of guys in the top 50 have more missed cuts than top 10s in the last year. The most obvious was Phil, he got an insane amount of money. he’d likely never win another tournament on tour. Bryson’s body might not allow him to be competitive on tour on a consistent basis. Rickie, assuming he joins, might lose is pga tour card on his own. Reed has gone from 7th to 36th in the last 2 years and has 4 missed cuts to to top 10s (7, 3). Bubba is down to 70th. all of those guys are bigger name guys that are struggling for big payouts on tour and presumably got huge payouts to jump over because of their name. If you’re struggling on tour and get offered a huge paycheck to finish top 10 by beating a small handful of scrubs, why not take it? It’s good for your bank account, good for your ego, and potentially better for the perception of your current golfing ability Add in a bunch of fading internationals, a bunch of no-names outside the top 200 and a few amateurs that are facing the grind of working up through the KF tour. For DJ it was just a big paycheck. He seems to not give a fuck about anything other than the economics of it.
  13. “Shit, we got the wrong Koepka!”
  14. So how many OWGR points are you getting for winning against this murderers row? GOLFER OWGR Dustin Johnson 13 Louis Oosthuizen 20 Bryson DeChambeau 28 Kevin Na 33 Talor Gooch 35 Sergio Garcia 54 Pablo Larrazabal 65 Richard Bland 66 Matt Jones 68 Shaun Norris 69 Phil Mickelson 72 Sam Horsfield 72 Lee Westwood 74 Ryo Kinoshita 87 Ian Poulter 89 Bernd Wiesberger 90 Hudson Swafford 90 Oliver Bekker 93 Jinichiro Kozuma 103 Scott Vincent 109 Justin Harding 111 Laurie Canter 114 Branden Grace 118 Charl Schwartzel 120 Sadom Kaewkanjana 125 Hennie Du Plessis 128 Phachara Khongwatmai 133 Sihwan Kim 138 J.C. 15. Do any of you guys have one of the ~$500 launch monitors? im debating getting one of the rapsodo/garmin/flight scope/etc monitors for the range and back yard.
  16. it just seems like the ability of the GOP to take an absolute insane stance on guns is possible because they know that no matter how ridiculous they are on that they have the anti abortionists and low taxes business owners. It seems a lot easier to take ridiculous hard line stances on things when you know there is no chance you lost your other single issue voters. but this is probably well beyond how cloak roomy things should get on this board.
  17. This post confirms that I don’t know enough about how multi-party democracy function to be able to really add much. But it sure feels like if from my perspective, having more choices would curtail some of the blatant partisanship. It also seems that it would make gerrymandering a bit less clear cut, but maybe not.
  18. That’s all well and good and I’m of the opinion that anyone still voting Republican is just a flat out bad person. And the legality of anyone and everyone to own anything more automatic than a bolt action rifle is just reason 1000. But the fact is that the two party system allows clean segmentation of single issue voters and “bus” voters to be convicted that the other bus is going in the wrong direction. Hardcore “the government should have no say in my life” libertarians and people that want the government to regulate the legality of medical decisions should never be voting in the same direction, but they do here in the good old USA where democracy is just red vs blue kleptocracy. In general, I agree with you that this is a failing of the GOP evilly painting gun control as a freedom issue. I don’t think that is entirely separate from the complete inability of a legitimate 3rd party to rein in the ability of both parties to shape everything as us vs them.
  19. But because of the two party system we have here we have busses that go east and west, when most of the country wants to go north.
  20. It’s an electric smoker and a gas oven. I figured the electric box would do a better job of holding. I think the lowest setting on my oven is 175 or 185, whereas the electric smoker’s lowest setting is 100 so I assumed that would have an easier time holding a low temp than the oven firing gas for a short period and then shutting off and cycling all night/morning.
  21. Smoking brisket and pork butt today for lunch tomorrow. The meat will likely be done in the range of midnight tonight. Should I rest it, then refrigerate it after it’s done and reheat closer to lunch time, or set the electric smoker to 160-170 and just hold it hot, wrapped in foil for 10 hours?
  22. Pens are out. Guess my team is the stars the rest of the way.
  23. I can’t wrap my head around being in the arena and the second your team wins the series and your first instinct is to pull out your phone instead of just enjoying the moment.
  24. 3-3 at the end of 3. OT. next goal wins the series.
