Oh it’s not going to take 2 years. We have actual contractors here. I’m sure they will keep us apprised of the cost of goods.

LV Integrator here, one of our main vendors already hit us with this (received Nov 8th).

    Dear Valued Partner,

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality products while managing rising costs, we have made the decision to implement a modest price increase. This adjustment is necessary to maintain the level of service and product quality you rely on.

Effective January 1, 2025, there will be a 6.5% increase across all Security products, including panels & keypads, sensors, radios & antennas, peripherals, Z-Wave automation, and accessories in our 2GIG, GoControl and Linear brands. Updated pricing will be sent to you via our standard communication channels.

We appreciate your understanding and continued partnership. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

    Best regards,

That’s from Nice North America, a lot of the products listed come from China. Waiting for Snap to hit us with the same.  They are our vendor for most of our wire, TV mounts, etc. again, mostly made in China. The AV industry is gonna have a bad time. I’m pretty sure Monoprice gets absolutely everything from China, so that sucks for the DIY AV guy too.

He didn’t link to his source but the one link in his c&p was to Fox Business so that may have been his source which, unsurprisingly, would’ve been slanted and biased.

I’m still waiting for someone to explain to me how Biden’s 2021 stimulus caused inflation but Trump’s 2020 stimulus wasn’t a factor. (Or how Trump’s $28 Billion giveaway to farmers to offset the cost of his tariffs wasn’t socialism but that’s beside the point…sort of.)

I’ve never understood how we completely ignore the fact that inflation was global post pandemic.  I get that politics is laying blame for everything at the other parties feet, but how do you not just show really simple graphical information like below.

Does the average American really consume this many eggs or is this the standard R double down on JD Vance’s weird press hit in that grocery store with his kids?  I don’t understand how eggs became such a focal point. Gas, housing, totally makes sense. Eggs?

I've been watching German football since the 70's. This is the worst German side I've ever seen. No finishers, poor defense. An unimaginative manager.

Bambi, Gnabry, and Sane are all scorers, so it’s bizarre that they can’t finish here.  The defense is historically bad. I thought Hansi was the man behind the curtain on that 2014 team after Low seemed to melt after he left. Now I don’t understand how they went from that dominant a performance to this.

    What does this even mean?

All of these guys play year round. And every league schedules around international breaks. It isn't like MLB vs. Venezuelan winter league.

MLS plays Feb-Oct, most international leagues are Aug-May.  I think guys that are mid season are in a different form than guys coming off their break. We are always missing internationals during stuff like gold cup, so their time together in camp is impacted. MLS guys get more time in camp, which I think gets them some outsized trust and playing time with GGG.

Was thinking about this earlier, thought I’d throw it out to the group.

if/when the US wins a world cup, is it more likely to be a miracle run from a team rated similarly to this one, or will it be a more methodical plod where the team climbs the rankings and slowly advances further until it is one of the favorites?

I’ll say former. Structurally USSF is always going to suffer because of their best players being across the pond.  We lose time in camp on international breaks waiting for guys to be released. Our mix of MLS guys and internationals are always in different form because of the different season timings. I think that will always lend itself to a mixed bag which will keep our rating roughly where we are now.
