Now that's the Red Raider Carpet defense we're familiar with in Lubbock.

Tech takes the lead 21-17. Now only need 11 more points to blow it.

  4. Those two, afaik. The "Omaha College Baseball Hall of Fame" is really the "Omaha College World Series Hall of Fame" but uses Omaha in the title due to copyright restrictions (MLB owns and licenses the copyright to "College World Series" to the NCAA). It was started 2013 by the same Chicago-based company that created and promotes the College Home Run Derby as a way to bring attention to the then three year-old event. The "National College Baseball Hall of Fame" (NCHoF) is run by the Lubbock-based College Baseball Foundation. The non-profit organization was established in 2004 and inducted their inaugural HoF class in 2006. The NCHoF Museum was planned to open on land to be donated by the City of Lubbock, but fell through due to missing a ground-breaking deadline. It also bestows annual awards to players and coaches: Skip Bertman National Coach of the Year, National Pitcher of the Year Award, John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award, and the Brooks Wallace (Shortstop of the Year) Award.
  5. The 1994 team sure did, don't know how I missed that one. That 2010 team didn't make it out of the losers bracket, but they did hand South Carolina their only loss of the entire tournament and almost knocked them out in extra innings. 6. With the Red Raiders set to make their first appearance in the Final Four, Northwestern is now the only "Power 5 Conference" school to not have had either a baseball, men's basketball or football team make the semi-finals in either the NCAA Tournament/College World Series/College Football Playoff, or have a football team finish ranked 4th or higher in the AP or Coaches' Polls. Below are the 65 "Power 5" conference schools and their most recent "top 4/final 4" team in either football, men's basketball, or baseball: School Football Basketball Baseball ACC Boston College 1984 – 1961 Clemson 2018 – 2010 Duke 1941 2015 1953 Florida State 2014 1972 2012 Georgia Tech 1990 2004 1994 Louisville – 2013 – Miami 2002 – 2001 North Carolina 1997 2017 2013 North Carolina State – 1983 1968 Notre Dame 2018 1978 1957 Pitt 1981 1941 – Syracuse 1987 2016 1961 Virgina – 2019 2015 Virginia Tech 1999 – – Wake Forest – 1962 1955 Big 12 Baylor – 1950 2005 Iowa State – 1944 1957 Kansas – 2018 – Kansas State – 1964 – Oklahoma 2018 2016 1975 Oklahoma State 2011 2004 2016 Texas 2009 2003 2014 Texas Christian 2014 – 2017 Texas Tech – 2019 – West Virginia – 2010 – Big Ten Illinois 1963 2005 – Indiana 1967 2002 – Iowa 1960 1980 – Maryland 1955 2002 – Michigan 1997 2018 1983 Michigan State 2013 2010 1954 Minnesota 1960 1997 1973 Nebraska 1997 – – Northwestern – – – Ohio State 2018 2012 1966 Penn State 2005 1954 1959 Purdue – 1980 – Rutgers – 1976 1950 Wisconsin 1999 2015 1950 Pac-12 Arizona 1998 2001 2016 Arizona State 1996 – 2009 California 1950 1960 1980 Colorado 1995 1955 – Oregon 2014 2017 – Oregon State 2000 1963 2018 Stanford 2015 1998 2008 UCLA 1965 2008 2013 USC 2016 1954 1998 Utah 2008 1998 1951 Washington 2016 1953 – Washington State – 1941 1965 SEC Alabama 2018 – 1999 Arkansas 1977 1995 2018 Auburn 2013 – 1967 Florida 2009 2014 2018 Georgia 2017 1983 2008 Kentucky – 2015 – Louisiana State 2011 2006 2017 Mississippi 1962 – 2014 Mississippi State – 1996 2018 Missouri 2007 – 1964 South Carolina 2013 2017 2012 Tennessee 2001 – 2001 Texas A&M 1939 – – Vanderbilt – – 2015 The 1939 A&M football team's #1 ranking in the AP Poll is their only entry on the list. 7. College Baseball Daily is reporting Wayne Graham will not return for the 2019 season. (Link) Graham has taken Rice to the NCAA Tournament for the past 23 consecutive seasons, including the Owls' first-ever tournament appearance in 1995.
  8. Texas Tech has outscored K-State 47-10 in the first 2 games in Lubbock. The wind took a few that would've been a flyout to a grand slam.
  9. Large Red Raider contingent down there. Hopefully Tech will be playing an annual game at the new Amarillo Double-A ballpark too.
  10. Hopefully no more Bedlam games off-campus with those capacity numbers. If Holliday isn't the guy, OkSt is going to be one of the better jobs in the country when this opens.
  11. Texas Tech @ New Mexico State: Postponed ("Short week" not weather...)
