  1. With all the consternation about parking and walking, I mapped out my usual route for Longhorn game day. It’s 1.5 miles from the lot to the stadium. And it never seems all that bad. I don’t know why opponents refused to acknowledge how many similar situations there are with events all over town.

Yep. Maybe even fifteens of 'em!

But Susan Spataro assured me that Mr Epstein was the one person who really cared about soccer in Austin and would ensure that fans had a first class experience!

  3. Great night at Haymaker. Flannigan, Pio and the Mayor all showed up. I've bro-hugged Jimmy like 30 times today. Legit work in terms of site plans, architectural, engineering, etc. starts in earnest tomorrow.

    Are you at the hall?

Yup. In the back w the MLS in Austin gang.

Does Pool know that there’s a “T” on the end of Precourt?

What would be the implications if it WERE a wetland?  Would the alternative proposals suddenly be better?  If it's a wetland, it's a wetland.

    Idiots.

Gotta mitigate. Such a pointless discussion.

Hopefully this process causes normal people to interact with their council member more so it's not just the vocal angry minority that drive some of these council members.

This is the truest statement of this entire painful ordeal.

  7. Flannigan also compared her to the state senator who went to Russia to tell them to stop meddling in our elections. He seems very put out by the process.

  8. “I’m disappointed and confused that an Austin elected official would seemingly care more about the perspective of soccer fans in Columbus compared to the city she’s elected to represent,” said Ensign, who accused Pool during the City Council meeting last Thursday of “stall tactics

“I’m confused looking at some of her comments in the last week about wanting to remove the emotions from this argument and look more at the numbers, then she’s quoted in this Dispatch article talking about the emotional impact in Columbus.”

  9. No need. Some of us are going down just to see the show, and see it through to completion after ten months, but there’s not a role for the public. Supporters group meetup @ Haymaker on Wednesday evening to celebrate or drown our sorrows.

Hotel at COTA? LOL. OK. I can't imagine how they intend to keep the occupancy high enough to stay in the black, but whatever...

Looks like they'll ruin another of the best viewing spots in the process.

& they apparently also wanna do a 'residential' site in the infield along the back straight. Surely the city needs to demand rail, affordable housing, use of the track by amateurs, etc, etc, ad nauseum, before approving this kind of thing, right? Right?

And to make sure that there are an equivalent number of male and female racers at each event.

To your question about amendments, there shouldn’t be any more, but I’m not certain about anything.

  11. That efficiency audit seems pretty politically motivated, but also a good idea. I didn’t know much about it, but watched the dicussion last night for almost an hour after soccer was done.

  12. Wednesday is not going to be a problem.

Pool really sucks. Adler having to describe what a poison pill is to her right now.

I think Jimmy should have an open mic to respond to everything that Pool and Alter say about everything. Would make all Council sessions must-see TV.

Wow. The 'opposition' minion is really working overtime on twitter tonight with all the numerous twitter accounts, no doubt run by one guy sitting behind a laptop deep in SE Travis County. The lies are really getting thick. No surprise. It's their M.O.

Some of us have gathered enough dirt to both win this thing tomorrow and make things very difficult on other soccer operations outside the city limits through this process. Some groups may have overplayed their hand and alienated the entire soccer community.
