  1. Diego’s worst game last night.

Eric Goodman asked Wolff if the team quit last night. Josh told him that was a bullshit question. Probably the highlight of the evening.

Odds that Q2 has the "hold near reader" ticket scanners working for this game? Was a clusterfuck when those were the tickets for USWNT against Nigeria. I'll be ready with the ticketmaster bar code but hoping to not have a 30 minute entry process again.

Hopefully months of Austin FC experience will make that better. I have the tix in my Apple wallet, which has worked fine for all the Austin FC games.

what a fucking betrayal to the fans. momentum is key going into next season, but i guess they already got their renewals so fuck us i guess, we gotta see if the 23rd man on the bench is gonna pan out.

Here’s a fun fact about that guy.

Well it let us know we need a different backup at keeper.

We’ve still got Pulisic’s cousin and Brady Scott to run through.

People. My 7 yr old has asked to bring a friend to a game rather than have a birthday party and I support fully.  Best place to buy tickets? Any other tips for kids and games? Looking at Oct 24.

If you're in a supporters group, there's a pretty active ticket trading community who will generally have tickets available for face value. Most are in the supporters section, but I see offers for other seats. Seems like SeatGeek is the best option beyond that.

If you're close to a train station, MetroRail is a pretty fun way for kids to get there.

unrelated question---but can you fit a standard college football field (100x53 yards with 2 10-yard endzones) and still have enough room for sidelines for the teams...can you fit that all onto the current pitch of Q2 stadium?  I know the dimensions of the actual FC pitch, but there's no real good way to ascertain how much space is left behind the goals/sidelines, etc.  Thanks.

Dynamo stadium had visible football lines on it.

What a shitty performance. This team has nothing right now. Did get to see a fight in the stands and one of the trumpet players got jumped on the streets outside the stadium and has his trumpet stolen.

  7. I think 6 yards is about right with both the grass and turf that covers the concrete. So that’s 127 yards end to end. Lot more turf on the sidelines and the pitch is 75 yards wide. I think you might be able to just squeeze it in.

Will be watching from home.  I hope our supporters take over Houston like the did Frisco.  I was nice watching the game and only hearing Austin FC chants coming out of the FC Dallas stadium.

Won't be as big of a crowd for several reasons (COVID, front office delay in getting a ticket link, etc) but we'll be louder than Houston for sure.

  9. That's beautiful, man. And I think that's the real opportunity that Austin FC has. To pull people together who love this city but don't have a common experience. Had a fairly long talk with one of the Fighting Leslies guys about that a couple months ago.

Looking forward to the Houston trip this weekend. Have no expectations for the team, but spending the day with a few hundred crazy Austin people is good for the soul.

  10. I think with Driussi/Djitte up front and some rest for Diego, the best place for Ring is covering for the slowness of our central defenders rather than contributing to the attack.

Guess I mean 9, Driussi is definitely the CAM. Not quite completely there with the terminology yet, this is the first full season of domestic league play I've ever watched.

    Gotcha. It's all good!

I think it's Djitte/Gallagher from here on out unless Hoesen or Big Celery magically get healthy. Definitely a position of need in the squad going forward. Here's what I would like to see vs. Vancouver:

    Stuver

    Kolmanic - Besler - Cascante - Lima

    Ring

    Pochettino - Pereira

    Dominguez - Driussi - Fagundez

    Djitte

You get less upset if you gave in weeks ago and just accepted that we're not making the playoffs, and it's been a silly thought for weeks now. We're one of the worst 3-4 teams in the league, and for the expansion year, overall, I think we get a pass for that. Is anybody really going to bitch if we finish 2nd to last in the table during our expansion year? We get a younger, faster CB, maybe another full/wing back to raise our floor and replace a starter, and we come back next year hopefully mid-table.

We still don't have that 10 we're looking for. Maybe Gallagher's the guy, maybe he isn't, but we're putting our hopes on a complete unknown in Djitte as well. This team still has holes and unknowns.

Where are you playing Driussi, if not at 10?

Wish I knew the logic that went into the expansion draft, because that’s the biggest bust in terms of missed opportunity this year.

    - Hoesen (sucks/hurt)

    - Stroud (not bad)

    - Scott (playing in USL)

    - Corona (Houston, WTF?)

    - Kamal Miller (traded immediately)

  13. Man, there are some real shit takes out there on Facebook. And reddit. And people arguing with Brad Stuver on Twitter.

IT'S LIKE THE FAN BASE GREW UP OVER NIGHT!

Romana plays like me. But slower, clumsier, and dumber. None of which I imagined were possible.

This is not a bad team. It’s an inexcusably horrible team.

Romaña’s lumbering runs late, and asking for the ball inside the box on a give and go, were my favorite parts of the game.

One thing I wasn't sure about was having Ring playing further forward than Pereira. I thought it was obvious that Ring was our defensive anchor/motor guy, and from what I've seen, Pereira fancies himself a distributor and somewhat of a control guy............. so why that idea?

Because it worked great against Portland and apparently Josh didn’t notice that FCD plays a different style. Ate Austin up with the high press.
