But you can’t remove politics from it. Somebody who would support causing this much suffering is not a good person.
They’re great people to you.
But they’re bad people.
It’s something we all have to deal with. My brother-in-law is a guy whose company I enjoy. He’s been good to me. But knowing his politics and listening to what he has to say about various out groups and the joy he takes in Trump hurting them—he’s a bad person. And I very frankly don’t want to be around him.
dad and sister are visiting this week. i am experiencing this firsthand, after X number of drinks some shit inevitably gets brought up.
it's...challenging. 😕

Through some extremely serendipitous circumstances, I have been able to escape Texas. Now, it's a bit of a lateral move, as I'm in Ohio for at least a year, but...better than Texas.
Still spent the last two weeks crying a lot about leaving my home tho
🤗 for real ❤️
also all my inlaw family are in Cincinnati, yes i make the chili, yes it is an acquired taste but honestly it's pretty good, and parts of Ohio are especially lovely in the summer. good luck 🤘

Lee pulls federal land sales from megabill
Sen. Mike Lee’s decision to withdraw his proposal removes a major headache for GOP leadership in both chambers as they look to advance their megabill.
🤞may this be the shortest thread in the CR.
also...did the pressure actually work?? cuz it seems like the pressure worked.

that salad looks fantastic 🤩 i love a steak salad.
it's farmers market season which is great, getting all my vegs from there rn. the tomatoes are sooo good! 🍅
which brings me to... various things:
leftover grilled tri-tip topped caprese, seared so it melted the moz a bit, drizzled with an evoo we shipped from Florence last year. my god was this good. ❤️😊
lemon pepper and bbq wangs
chicken cutlet with creamy lemon wine sauce
grilled pork tenderloin, fresh collards with bacon, wedge with homemade bleu cheese

if you're looking for travel rewards, i believe Chase Sapphire is still the most recommended.

threadworthy topic? 🤔
i feel like this issue is one of the most crucial and possibly closest to 'bipartisan' as we're likely to get nowadays, and the details of whatever happens are going to generate substantial discussion.
on a personal level, other than the brownshirts (which, i can't even), this is the issue i find most upsetting.
so... everybody knows the senate parliamentarian threw out Mike Lee's first version on a technicality. i'm not convinced there wasn't a push to find something from his colleagues, whose staff are probably (hopefully!) getting an earful from constituents.
Revised GOP plan would sell up to 1.2M acres of public lands
* from 3.3 to 1.5 million acres
* excludes National Forests
* specifies it must be sold for housing or infrastructure to support housing and it must be within five miles of a population center border
* excludes federally protected grazing landdoesn't change the terribleness of the idea. also i do not trust them at all. but if most of the land was still in UT (i don't know), well, they elected him.
i hope there is enough resistance on both sides to kill it altogether. 🖕
