Of course it won’t but the scale of hypocrisy is astounding. The fact that GOP spent 4 years investigating and prosecuting made up bullshit about Hunter Biden should offend everyone’s intelligence

ive said it before... but the rampant hypocrisy is the number one reason i stopped voting republican.

and yes there is hypocrisy on all sides...but the Rs are absolute expert champions at it, on literally every issue. there's really no contest.

Trump Calls Ilhan Omar “Garbage” as His Team Breaks Out in Applause

Donald Trump went on a particularly racist tirade about the Democratic representative. And his entire Cabinet enjoyed it.

She’s a real terrible person … I hear [Somalians] ripped off that state for billions of dollars … I don’t want ’em in our country, I’ll be honest with you. Somebody’ll say ‘Ooh that’s not politically correct.’ I don’t care. I don’t want ’em in our country. Their country’s no good for a reason. Their country stinks, and we don’t want ’em in our country.

“We’re gonna go the wrong way if we keep taking garbage into our country. Ilhan Omar is garbage. Her friends are garbage.… When they come from hell, and they complain, and do nothing but bitch? We don’t want ’em in our country. Let ’em go back to where they came from and fix it.”

Trump’s Cabinet members started banging on the table, clapping, and cheering as the meeting concluded on that note.

Other than the family member mentioning it in the post, where does it say she went off the balcony?  The APD says she was “found unresponsive”. Isn’t that usually language for an OD or alcohol poisoning or the like?  A 17 story fall seems like “found unresponsive” is odd language.

thank you, this was bugging the hell out of me!

i've unfortunately seen a body that fell just SIX stories - it was gory and frankly traumatizing, a picture i couldn't unsee for literally years. a 17 story fall, the body is going to be a lot more than 'unresponsive', like wtf people!

Right. But then the regime misses an opportunity to continue to demonize Brown foreigners, in general, and Muslims, in particular. Acknowledging a potential mental health problem like PTSD would be like recognizing the killer's humanity, and we couldn't have that. They must forever remain the proverbial "Other" so that American hatred and blame for our problems are targeted at Brown foreigners instead of at the asshole billionaires picking our pockets.

don't forget the opportunity to insult another female reporter, that's always fun!

For God sake, if we're kicking them out of our country, then yes, please save the recipes.  I don't want Cleetus making my enchilada plate.

I’m sure the cook didn’t hock a fat one into the enchiladas. But he should’ve.

  8. oh yeah...the US military. I posted about it in one if the Venezuelan invasion threads.

they're was a LOT of air activity over where we were staying. we assumed at first it was normal but after talking to many locals...it pretty much all started like just a week before we got there! 😮 they re-opened the naval base just like a few days before we arrived.

the folks we talked to seemed pretty agitated about the whole buildup...but also nobody is a fan of Maduro.

    think these were Osprey?

this happened pretty much all day, every day...

  9. well here's my trip report as promised, for everybody who doesn't go there 😊

we were there over a week, first time, and found it fabulous 🌴🇵🇷

there were six of us, coming from different locs and met up there. stayed most of the time in a great AirBnB in Punta Santiago right next to a nature preserve with tons of trails, we could walk all around the area including a spectacular beach. several hidden bunkers from WWII, now home to local art 😄

we visited El Yunque NP, Vieques conservation area, Hucares, Palmas Del Mar (found the rich PRs 😄), Loquillo, Fajardo/Las Croabas (found the best beach there!), and finished our time with a couple days in Old San Juan.

we cooked a lot, but the food we ate out was pretty damn good. i had never had PR food...surprisingly meat heavy for a caribbean island! 🤨 but very tasty...one of the best things we ate was some guys with a giant pit on the side of the road 😄 melt in your mouth pork and chicharrones...holy shit was it good 🤤

rained several times every day, short bursts then done. it was hot but not unbearably so, the evenings were super breezy and pleasant, and sitting in shade was actually nice and cool. that was actually one of the best features - all the natural shade on the beaches! no need for umbrellas or cover, the vegetation is super dense.

most of the tourist areas seemed full of...Puerto Ricans? or at least some variety of Latin folk...even in OSJ, the gringos were way outnumbered. it was kind of nice 😄 eating out prices varied depending on the spot, but no place we went seemed exorbitant. groceries and gas were generally much less expensive than expected for a caribbean island.

damage from Maria is still very apparent on much of the island outside San Juan. lots and lots of still empty structures everywhere, some being worked on but many just waiting for buyers i guess. i was kind of fascinated by the architecture/buildings...generally squat cement structures that were obviously built well bc they are still standing...but completely hollow as the insides have been blown/flooded out. seemed like you just add new windows, doors, and wiring... until the next time it all gets blown out i guess 🌀🌊

all in all it was pretty awesome, we would definitely go back. we only had two days at the end in OSJ...i think when we return we'd spend several more days there...very much a NOLA vibe and lots of history. also think we'd do a couple nights in Condado, enjoy some high rise beach resort time. i'd go back for more hiking in El Yunque as well...spectacular!
