  1. Saw this at the local mom and pop. Don’t know too much about the Jeffersons except that I seem to remember reading that the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze. As in the ocean part of the deal was just a gimmick and didn’t really impart anything substantial to the overall experience. However, I do like ryes and this is the first time I’ve seen it. Has anyone experienced this yet and is it worth the $80 price point the store had it listed at?

  2. I dunno. I liked the effort, the 3-pointers. Nothing that I saw was anything other than a much better team dominating a much weaker team.
How'd Shaka do, last time he was in the first round of the Big Dance?

I agree with everything you say. The excessive TOs were concerning. I guess that’s my biggest gripe. But I also got a little concerned with Woodward bodying people in the paint. Obviously they can’t keep up that 3pt %. But I was impressed with the efficiency of their shooting. I was admittedly overly dramatic with my initial statement. I think there are some things that need to be cleaned up. But I can’t argue with a “W”.

Ordered the Mido Commander Gradient and should be delivered today. Thought the smoky face that allows you to see into the movement was a cool concept. And apparently Mido has a fantastic reputation for watch making.

  4. Finally finished this bottle of Rebel Yell 10 from ‘16.  It wasn’t quite Heaven Hill’s best work.  Too much peanut on the nose and generic vanilla/oak on the palate. I’m not sure I’ll need to buy these anymore as the MGP and other brands of wheaters get older.

I just got one today. Says it was barreled in ‘09. I know the age statement says 10 years. But is it possible that the age statement is just a minimum time in the barrel? Based on my maffs this is 13+ years old.

I’m a big fan of peanuts and vanilla. I know some are down on the product but the quoted post piqued my interest. Looking forward to opening this up tonight.

  5. Buffalo Trace 1.75l $45.99
    Weller Special Reserve 750ml $24.99

These seem like excellent prices to me. Am I off base?

Sounds like you’re on base at the BX or whatever they call it.
  6. Yep. I am not entertained. I think the Bourbon Night folks cut a deal. I’ll drink it because I need to get drunk tonight.

  7. Of course, but the same process of evaporation and dilution happens in both. And that's what I was talking about. Not saying they're exactly the same.
On a less pedantic note who would buy this shit?

  8. If I saw a 2022 GTS for $400 I’d buy it. If I saw one for $600 I’d be pretty serious about it, and would try to talk the person down. It’s hard to imagine paying over $400 for a bottle. But that’s a function of my income . If had a lot more money, then $600 would be no big deal for something I want that’s hard to get.

Thanks for the honest answer. I kicked myself for not going up an extra hundred bucks. But at the time I thought I was doing the right thing. I even tried to let the owners know I was offering to pay 3x retail. But $600 wouldn’t have been a big deal either for me. It was just the principalities.
  9. Yes, but this feels like a trick because there’s no ‘21 GTS.

I tried to buy the bottle in 2021. I’m new to the game compared to most of you on the thread. So forgive me for not knowing there was no ‘21 GTS. My question still is that if you don’t have access to bottles at retail, was my stance at $300 warranted? Or should I buy at asking price just to obtain bottles with this type of demand?
  10. Leave Bert alone. His point was was the 2022 GTS was exceedingly good. He also provided us with the Nashville ships to Texas gift.

Sorry. I tried to edit his quote and actually wound up responding. I have edited my post to reflect the honest question I wanted to ask. I take all of the recommendations on here very seriously and use it to inform all of my purchases.

  11. 1) 2022 George T Stagg is tits. Like you need to get in on this. ASAP.

I saw a 2021 GTS bottle last year and offered $300 for it. I was told $600 was the asking price. I kept going back to the liquor store every two weeks offering 300 bucks for. I felt dirty offering that much for for it. But it was gonna be a one time purchase. Eventually it disappeared and I asked how much it sold for. $400. Here’s my question since I don’t have access like most of you do…Should I have paid the 300 or even 400 to purchase the bottle? Regular folk like me don’t see these often and definitely don’t have access at retail.
