    I'll give you a list.

No one under 21 can legally purchase or own a semi-automatic centerfire rifle.
Person to person sales of said rifles will be prohibited.
Magazine capacity for said rifles will be limited to 10 rounds or less.  Existing high capacity mags will be grandfathered.  A buyback program would also help.
And because I like Anastasis' idea, there will be serious jail time for the parents of kids who take their guns and use them in a mass shooting.

    Signed.

Agreed that mental illness is the underlying problem, but we are decades - if not centuries - away from a general acceptance of these issues from society.  It's one thing for Person A to study Person B and say that Person B has a particular mental issue. The difficult part will be for Person B to accept, identify, and treat their OWN mental issues.

Right now there are people that don't believe in depression. They think it can be easily "fixed".  The mind is a wonderful, powerful, and frightening thing. We are only at the beginning of understanding the ins and outs of how the brain works.

We don't have time to figure out mental illness right now. We need strict gun control laws: required licenses, extensive background checks, magazine limits, age restrictions, stiff penalties for irresponsible gun owners. Society has failed with current laws. Time to adapt.

The tools currently available in the medical field are no where near effective in treating these ailments.  Add on to that the unbelievable shortage on mental health providers and the fact that a significant amount of them do not accept medicare or medicaid and you have a feel for how close we are to providing any sort of assistance on identifying and treating those with mental health ailments.

I assume both are incredibly small. I am certainly of the opinion that every child’s death is horrific and should be prevented where possible, short of permanently eliminating facets of Liberty that are in place to keep this country free in perpetuity, particular when/if an alternative action may bring about similar reductions in killings without banning guns or putting everyone on a registry.

I always enjoy assuming things when it comes to the potential of kids dying.

Mock all you like. People seem to ignore the history of firearm registration, usually followed by confiscation, when tyrannically parties come to political power.

Similar argument to “why do regular people need 30 round magazines and sports rifles? Are you going to take on the army?” In the however unlikely event of a revolution or foreign invasion, it won’t  be the US Army or USMC, etc. firing on average citizens. And second, I personally would like whatever slim odds I or my family have to be maximized in such a scenario.

Whoever said the end goal of reduction is elimination is right, whether people on the left side of this issue will admit it or consciously realize it themselves.

Wonder what the odds are of you having to fight off the Chinese Invasion versus losing one of your children to a school shooting is.

Nowhere have I suggested this, and in fact said on Shaggy that I couldn't possibly care less if there was an immediate ban on AR's and high capacity magazines.  I'm just not in favor of making a stupid and futile gesture so that we can say "we did something".  What will the next step be when a kids shoots up a school with a pistol that only has a round magazine?

Ok for argument sake, provide one argument for not banning AR's and high capacity magazines?

  6. Any early onset dementia is a bitch more so than other forms, Alzheimer's or FTD.  I spend more time working with the family than the patient as progression occurs.  One of the best books I've come across for patients is the 36 hour day.

    Amazon

There is quite a bit of research ongoing, but nothing promising other than techniques to attempt to diagnose early as the feeling is by the time the diagnosis is made, it is at a point where you are past the treatment.  Here's hoping that with newer tools in the not too distant future, we are able to start to help the patient's in these situations.

Thoughts and prayers to your friend and his family.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the preliminary stages of the said talks were held today and the likely outcome? A new bumper deal for Sarri, with a reported annual wage of €4.4 million after taxes being discussed. While more follow-up talks are scheduled for tomorrow, there is, apparently, a resounding optimism from De Laurentiis’ camp that the manager will stay on in Naples and spurn advances from other clubs.

    Looks like Sarri is staying.

Neymar has apparently told his teammates that he’s done at PSG, which leads me to believe that he’ll typically end up at United.

  9. And goal zone nailed it on the head, Conte wants to be fired.

First our board shits the bed in the summer, now our manager has just stepped away from his responsibilities.

At least we dont have any world class players needing to sign contracts.

  11. So to avoid another thread, new kits for CFC. I think the home looks like something you would see on bus seats, so Mou is heading back to CFC apparently.

I dig the yellow, but I'm not aware of how the third kit flows with the historical color schemes of CFC at all.

    Other two apparently.

And another pic of the home.

Conte has done a solid job keeping the team in it. Would have been easy to pack it in after the home loss to Spurs.

We should totally sack him. emoji849.png

After today's decision, I am past Conte.  He went into a game with all the momentum in the world needing 3 wins to end the season in a fashion that one could argue he should stay.

He sits out Hazard 60 minutes of the game and we get a draw essentially removing us from the Champions League. If Barcelona or Real needed 2 wins to finish a La Liga season to try to secure a Champions League spot, you are damn well certain they will be playing 100% of those games.  He has done this throughout the year, pulling Hazard out of games so that he would have the legs to end the season, and what do we do, we sit far and away our best player.

    Good bye Conte.
