  3. AD will be fine if going to Bills. So happy for X, to stick it out when shit was going sideways and people were calling for him to hit the transfer portal, to improve on his weaknesses and be a huge factor for his team, and blow up in front of everyone with the speed to be a 1st-rounder, wow.

  4. Get a load of this gaslighting horseshit

The RNC and the Trump campaign said they were preparing to deploy more than 100,000 attorneys and volunteers across the states that are expected to be competitive in the presidential rac

The Republican Party and the Trump campaign said in a statement that they plan to recruit an army of poll watchers, who will monitor individual polling sites for irregularities.

Attorneys, meanwhile, will be stationed at "Republican Party War Rooms" in competitive states, where they will staff an "Election Integrity Hotline" to answer calls from poll watchers and voters who have observed possible irregularities.

"Having the right people to count the ballots is just as important as turning out voters on Election Day," Trump said in a statement.

Maybe the press should alter that headline to something more accurate... and maybe the initiative should be called something like Fraud Guarantee

What the fuck is a 'Moonbattier'?  Don is a helluva nice guy, but he's a little over the top even by Texas GOP standards.  And really abrasive and kinda creepy at times.  He's like a less intelligent and more awkward Grover Nordquist.  Matt is scheming, but ultimately...what he could he possibly do with this position?  He wants to check a box on his resume and that's well and good.  What I am curious about is if he wins the seat, and he likely will............this is all so new given the last Prop vote.........can an elected official of another office, carry out the duties of the appraisal board in good faith?  Not saying Matt would do anything sideways, and I'm sure there are a number of other appraisal boards around the state that will soon have on them elected officials (mainly local/county).  But in 1-2 cycles, it's going to raise some legit legal/ethical questions.  Think of a massively partisan appraisal district that raises/decreases appraisals so they can turn around in their other office and blame the other party before the next election if they're in a tight race.  Matt's safe, but I could see this becoming an issue in a lot of suburban A.D.'s and the like.  Where some county commissioner or party chair or what have you colludes with others to rise or fall valuations to effect tax increases/decreases so they can take credit for their main office run or to use the alternative to blame the other side.  It's Texas Jake, we're gonna find a way to fuck this up.

helluva nice guy? This dude is a psycho abuser

And rural counties are too fucking stupid to realize it and will continue to pull the lever for team (R) no matter how shitty their lives get.

Real question -- do Democratic candidates even run in places like that these days? I don't know but taking a look around the Canyon Lake area last month, I saw plenty of campaign signs but none saying Democrat.

Railing on rurals for voting against their own interests is probably justified but what if their only choices are Lunatic and Lunatic Plus because the D's just concede, thereby perpetuating the party's cycle of hopelessness?  I think I'm saying what Bozo is saying ?

The radicalization of Texas Republican legislators continues. Ten Rs who won their primary race for a House seat in R districts have signed the pledge of Abolish Abortion Texas (AATX). The pledge  provides that a 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐁, the morning after pill. Consistent with the pledge, clinic workers can be charged with murder for destroying embryos resulting from IVF.

  9. Holy shit, he said a lot of other insane stuff in that speech too

"On a federal level, we’re run by a criminal enterprise. … None of you are going to escape this. And so I would implore you to get closer to the Lord. I would implore you to prepare. I would implore you to bring other people on board.”

He blasted legal challenges to Texas’ abortion laws as a “mockery of God,” and invoked apocalyptic language when discussing Democrats — saying his judgeship gave him a “front-row seat to the end of the world.”

And so on. Didn't realize he barely won his primary. Fuck this state, we really are doomed.

At this point, I gotta get all Lobo-esque and wonder if we're simulating inside the simulation by mansplaining to the forum about how we know why women visit cruelty upon other women without any of them knowing why.

Well, yes -- y'all are mansplaining and I do see some biases there. But, Mrs. Whiggins and I are just 'splaining :)

  11. IMO, some aspect of the women-against-women stuff is a trauma response. Just this endless cycle of "I had to suffer through something, you younger people should have to also." Bitterness, shame, resentment, etc. can be turned outward. For men, this usually occurs via violence, with women, it's more of a social shaming. I mean, on a larger and more literal scale, look at female genital mutilation. The female elders are the ones doing it to the younger generations, even though they know the pain and suffering it causes. Religion/cultural tradition plays a big part but that's not the whole psychology of it... the patriarchy infects everyone, and the cycle of abuse uses everyone as an instrument to perpetuate it.

  12. wait, what? Everything about academia has been politicized as of late, and DEI is so obviously conflated with "CRT."

The strangest trans name I've ever experienced was also my first.  She was my professor in the ACTLab at UT back in the early 90's so she was definitely a trailblazer.  Anyway, her name was Allucquére, which kinda sounded like "All Look Queer" to me, so I used to wonder if that's why she chose it.  Of course, most people just knew her as Sandy.

    Sandy Stone (artist) - Wikipedia

I remember her, an ex took her class. I had no idea that UT faculty in the RTF dep't were such cunts to her. Pathetic. She was well-liked and well-respected by her students as far as I knew.
