voting illegally 9 times while white and Republican = a fine and reprimand
casting one provisional ballot while black when being unsure if you're eligible to vote and you're not = 5 years in the pen

The fact that his regular gig is as defense counsel has zero to do with the result. I say this as someone who has worked on both sides of the system.
I’m not defending the agreement, but him being a defense attorney getting the blame is a weak take.Ok sure, but my comment was personal to him. I have quite a bit of familiarity with the guy and he's a certain... strain... of defense attorney. The kind that quotes Shakespeare in his briefs, name-drops continually, and dances up to the edge of outright misrepresentations to the court

Brian Wice, the special prosecutor who makes his living as a defense attorney -- great job, bitch

you can't always get a good appointment but yes -- the "split prep" that comes with an afternoon appointment sucks. You've already been butt-purging water for hours straight and you don't get good sleep... and then in the morning, you have another half of the prep. It really, really feels like overkill.
Also, kudos to the one who ate Tex Mex the day before, but damn you lucky you didn't get an F-minus on bowel prep (they grade you lol) and had to cancel... they need to see in there, enchiladas tend to block the visuals

Is the Nate Paul stuff state or federal?
federal, though he is supposed to serve some days in jail on contempt charges from civil dispute in Travis County
so... who is the NBA player he wired $100k to in 2022? Haven't followed this so closely
it's too late in the day for me to be accurate on anything, hence my edit. but one thing I do know ---- Natey boy. has been eating his feelings

"pre-trial diversion agreement" = deferred adjudication? Reporting on legal matters is so imprecise. Looks like there was a concerted effort by both parties to let him skate. What a colossal fucking waste of resources and yet another enormous green light to the continuing lawlessness of the state's top law enforcement agent. I'd say it's embarrassing but Texas is beyond that obviously.

JFC, guess I haven't had the distinct displeasure of really taking in the full grotesquerie of Comer before... that is one hydrocephalic, Gingrich-esque noggin there

Tucker's giving Dan Patrick a run for his money in the unfashionable lesbian race.
And this just goes to show, there's always a worse alternative the right wants to line up for us

Let’s ignore for a second that despite an investigation and countless hours of hearings paid for by the US taxpayer, there hasn’t been even a spec of evidence to prove the president was involved in anything untoward…Burisma was a Ukrainian company you fucking moron.
How many R's know the fundamental fact that Biden helped get RID of the guy who was NOT investigating Burisma ... not that it'd make a difference in the age of cognitive dissonance

They abandoned that law after the Georgia Supreme Court ruling and created a new law/entity — signed into law this week — that removes the state court from being involved in the commission’s reviews and dismissals.
Yes, the new law will likely be tied up in courts as well, but the likelihood of Judge McAfee putting DT on trial if the state commission has moved to remove Willis from office is pretty slim.
your glee about getting in the weeds of "winning" despite the potential win being untethered to the treasonous actions at issue is quite telling

Yes. I have some additional on it above. Seems the state inadequately alleged how the conduct solicited would have violated the oaths of office.
That would seem evidentiary in nature rather than elemental, but obv. I haven't looked into the wording of the indictment

Very little media focus on the charges that McAfee threw out --- is it correct that they were the ones relating to the phone call to Raffensperger, i.e., the crimes that should be easiest to prove??

So judges can just throw out charges? Then what use is the grand jury?
yes, if -- for instance -- defendants claimed the indictment didn't give proper notice of the charged conduct for those offenses. Not sure how it went down here

The tweet clarifies that those charges could be reindicted, if they're more detailed... and the ruling may indicate no disqualification of Willis. Most importantly, let's get this prosecution GOING

For me, it's always been his very blatant misogyny, he just fucking hates women and I could never tolerate his cuntiness based on that alone.

this is random and shallow but how are his teeth so perfect and blindingly white -- he's got a million-watt smile.

... and why hasn't this shit been ruled on and handled by now??

weird, just happened to see this quote posted by a German 80s goth singer, no less:
" The greater part of the population is not very intelligent, dreads responsibility, and desires nothing better than to be told what to do. Provided the rulers do not interfere with its material comforts and its cherished beliefs, it is perfectly happy to let itself be ruled. "~Aldous HuxleyTrumpers absolutely believe they will benefit from the autocracy and not suffer alongside the people they hate. History says chaos will ensure society-wide, however.- 2

Can we at least fire Gilbert Hinojosa (who? state Dem chair) into the sun and start getting serious about voter engagement??

Agreed. Rape is absolutely abhorrent and my views are unpopular on how we punish for it. Let’s just say there should never be a repeat offender, imo.
pretty harsh punishment these days as far as being forced to carry to term, not sure how your party will get harsher than that.
