Paxton couldn’t wait and he clearly wants an all out war of sorts over abortion, brilliant to do this going into an election year.  If Soros was paying somebody to do this to get Democrats and women out to vote, it’ would be money well spent.

Isn't this essentially an ex parte communication to parties who may be bound by the TRO, and an attempt to threaten consequences for conduct that is consistent with the ruling? And the idea that this society would tolerate any kind of state surveillance on a non-criminal citizen with intent to prevent (not investigate but PREVENT) a potential "crime".... well this is way fucking beyond abuse of power --  bravo Kenny. There are no fucking limits for this evil shit. We are way beyond what even Ireland was doing a while back before they came to their fucking senses there. But we continue to be frogs in the boiling pot where it's already on fire, just taking it up the ass in this state. I hope one of the parties sues his ass and makes this a case everyone hears about.

It's never surprising that many on the right never recognize the basic consequences of their own laws.  For example, when Dan Patrick pushes that trans men and women need to use the bathroom of their "birth" gender, he apparently has never considered that a trans man may look extremely masculine and according to Dan Patrick, that man will be required to use the women's public restroom.

On some level, Patrick and his ilk know that if a trans person isn't allowed to use a public restroom that matches their identity, that person also could not use the restroom that matches their birth-assigned gender for the reason you state; it would be unsafe and would cause disruption and possibly violence. Their goal is to exclude trans people from public life. I mean, how are you going to go around in the world if you could never use a restroom while dining out, shopping, running errands etc.? It's a policy purposely designed to further exclude, stigmatize, and marginalize.

  3. They might, as they've done before. I saw at least one house dem trying to cave though -- Barbara Gervey-Hawkins from San Antonio (or some such name), saying "why we gonna keep fighting so hard when we gonna end up losing in the end" ...SMH

I've spent a lot of time in Poland. More than I care to admit. As a dirty American born and raised, the one thing that always stuck out to me was the monolith nature of Poland and Polish people. I've spent time in various cities, Warsaw being the most diverse, but in Wroclav and Krakov I don't think I've ever seen a non-white. Not even saying I've never seen a black person, but even a brown person. It was startling.

Anyways, personal anecdote don't mean much in research, I know, but that always sort of bothered me.

Oddly enough, a significant part of the Brexit sentiment in the UK arose from all the Polish people, and other East Europeans, who had gone there to work lower-wage jobs. Guess whites gotta divide themselves against each other if that's what you've got....

School bill rally by TPPF on Monday.  I've got to be at the Capitol that morning anyway, and TPPF usually gets good catering for lunch.  So come on by, don't bother with the mouth-breathing protest and address  by Gov. Abbott afterwards.  But the part that caught my eye was the "sign making activity" beforehand.  I have a number of ideas.  I know you sick bastards do too as well.

"I went through 91 counties with no private schools to get to the Texas Capitol this morning.  And all I got was this stupid sign."  If nothing else, come hear what these dipshits say behind "closed" doors.  Maybe we can hit up Chili Parlor afterwards.

What time is the rally? I probably can't do it -- possibly could go by and be an agitator -- but my office is next door to the Chili parlor.

Duh, actually just clicked the link. Just reading the agenda made my blood boil.

So I watched a movie on HBO Max called The Lodge. It was more of a psychological thriller. Has a couple of “what the hell” moments (you’ll know what I’m talking about early in the movie if you watch it). It dragged a little in the middle but that’s more due to the subject content. I thought it was worth the watch.

Was that the one with Riley Keogh? If so, it held my attention well enough--was a nice slow burn.

The new Exorcist movie with the two little girls looks scary AF! For real. I still avoid the original, it gets to me like nothing else.

I saw The Nun II. It was kinda meh, though I didn't see the first one and admit I'm not super knowledgeable about the Conjuring universe. It was kind of like, let's run here, let's run there... if a demon, much less Satan was so powerful, how are you shutting the door on it and keeping it out or being able to hide from it?
