  1. There's some disingenuous bullshit being spouted right now by the media.

ALL Y'ALL ARE REPORTING THE WORK DETAILS OF THE JURORS NOT JUST FOX!

The thing that's changed is that now he's HAD the position. Why the fuck would he, or anyone, want it?

because it's still one of the most powerful positions in the United States and third in line for the presidency?

also note that the GOP may be going to change the rules for removal (see Marge's whining). if they do that then he's more secure and more empowered.

This is actually happening.  The House version of the aid bill to Ukraine REQUIRES the transfer of ATACMS missiles to Ukraine for "achieving victory against" Russia.  This House bill is even better than the Senate bill.

Yes... it is a "loan" and not direct aid.  But everyone knows Ukraine is never going to have to pay it back and this is a cheap political concession for Johnson to say he "got something."

The ERLC is the lobbying arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. It's not obvious what Ukraine funding has to do with the SBC or Christianity in America. This is an example of over-politicization of evangelical denominations. Let individuals voice their support for Ukraine, but evangelicals institutions shouldn't be directly involved this type of policy advocacy in most cases. It's outside of their lane.

Actually the SBC has significant ministry in Ukraine, including the largest presence of evangelicals and Baptists in Eastern Europe. In Russian occupied territories, they are being tortured and persecuted. We’ve lost 300 Baptist churches. This advocacy by the ERLC is consistent with SBC advocacy going back a century. Which is why the 25-year ERLC president, Richard Land, has been advocating similarly.

I don't follow these accounts - Kinzinger reposted this. Might explain how things changed.

Yep, he’s counted votes and been told by the Dems to do it or get his fucking shine box.

actually my read was it was enough Republicans were ready to sign it to bring it up to a vote - so they told him to do it or they'll do it for him. keep in mind there were many Democrats who had yet to sign the discharge petition so there had to be a LOT of Republicans telling him to move this forward.

Give more than your tribute cut to da boss and he'll like you more and maybe even do a campaign stop there (in between court dates).

It is definitely LOL, but honestly, presuming Wrexham do get promoted, and Rob and Ryan are willing to pay up, I imagine they are going to try to place some US names on the team.  Weston is too good, but if I am, say, Haji Wright, and they are willing to throw Championship money at me, I am listening.

(this was in context of a reply where someone suggested McKinnie go to Wrexham if things don't work out at Juventus)

Putting this here since it's Wrexham-centric, but even Wright is likely out of their price range.

His current salary at Coventry would be tied for the highest in League 1 (slightly over 1 million pounds) and according to Transfermarkt his transfer fee estimate is 7 million euros. He may be angling for a shot in the Premier League with how well he's been playing. Same for Sargent (who might be in EPL regardless if Norwich manages to get promoted).

So even though Americans can be had at a discount I'm not sure that makes anyone who is USMNT first team eligible an option for them - at least as a permanent signing.

It would have to be a loan for a guy who needs playing time and could help Wrexham push for promotion if they are in a position to do so. Any permanent types would have to be someone young like Tanner Tessman (who is cheap) or maybe an older guy like Tim Ream now that he's in the twilight of his career but can still play at a high level (just not EPL starter quality).

This just gets back to my point that although they may be good enough right now to avoid relegation back to EFL 2 without much change they are going to have to pay significantly more than they have in the past in order to challenge for promotion to the Championship in just one year.

Translation: a team drafting later in the first wants him badly so is floating this to scare off teams who are picking earlier.
