I’m sure they are not going to do that, but the bylaws can certainly be changed by a vote of 100% of the membership.

True, but “technically”, all the departing schools are still members of the PAC through 2023. So any rules would be effective next year. I’m sure the lawyer-types will correct me, and seeing that large amounts of cash is involved, the departing schools have the legal teams idling in the background.

They could theoretically vote to give themselves all the PAC 12 post season payout if they win this ruling, correct? Or at minimum hold up the payouts for this year until a ruling is reached?

I could see where OSU &Wazzu would want to go all crazy ex-girlfriend on the ex PAC members at first, but that would be suicide for their athletic departments. They are forgetting they are OSU & Wazzu… not the big dogs like USC & UCLA. If they pulled some rubbish like voting themselves PAC champions (with a .500 record, and getting an automatic playoff bid over (for argument’s sake) an undefeated USC, the blowback would be epic. They might as well embrace playing Directional Montana State Teachers College with no TV forever.

I would doubt the bylaws would give them the option of doing something so stupid, but as big of a cluster-fuck the PAC has been, it wouldn’t surprise me.

What a brutal penalty for a team that won't sniff a bowl game

Considering they’re eyeballing Meatchicken for basically the same thing (Covid period violations), that 4 cupcake game suspension for Harbaugh is pretty light.

    Was he also the architect?

Maybe not the architect if record, but he was the driving force behind that abortion of a remodel. When the concept renderings were unveiled, the consensus was “ who the fuck came up with this?”.  The first thing anyone with eyesight noticed was the craptacular view lines from the seats at the edge of Haden’s Tower. Not to mention how longtime seat holders got screwed out of their locations.

OREGON’S NEW HEISMAN TROPHY BILLBOARD IN DALLAS GIVES BO NIX THE WORLD’S LONGEST ARM WITH GRAPHIC DESIGN FLOP

On Monday morning, construction was starting on a different Nix-focused billboard in Dallas. The incomplete poster left a lot of questions to be answered about how it would look.

The completed project did not help to appease those questions. From dead on, the billboard shows a dimensionally-sound Nix throwing a pass. From any other angle, it doesn’t work.

Especially from the right side. With his limb on one building and his body on another, it looks as though Nix has the world’s longest right arm.

Did no one think about how the billboard would read when not standing directly in front of it? Could the entire thing not have fit on the right building alone?

The idea for the billboard is pretty good looking. The execution fell extremely short.

Now, with less than two weeks from Week 1, it is time for Nix to live up to the hype. Nothing would be more awkward than a Heisman campaign for a quarterback who throws a ton of picks and loses a lot of games.

It's literally called the Berkeley Standard Distribution. It's a cachet and weight you can't buy. Cal Berkeley  has a brand that is impeccable, hence my post. Whether or not they actively maintain BSD, they are pivotal to history. It'd be like saying Silicon Valley has a weak brand because they field no football team, it's idiocy.

Yeah ok Scooter, you know best

I mean, the stanford (and Cal) brand is pretty fucking incredible in just about everything except football. Their brand is rock solid. Not everything revolves around sports. It's still *COLLEGE* Football, so you know, one of the most successful and important colleges in the world should probably matter to a degree. Switching to talking about Cal specifically, BSD alone is worth more than any football program by far. Literally everything apple makes runs on BSD.

Mac OS is a derivative of FreeBSD (open source) & 4.4BSD Lite2. Cal Berkeley is no longer involved in BSD development (since 1995)

WSU Presiden Kirk Schulz interview with ESPN. Good read from their perspective.

Take the offer from the MWC and run. I commend him for sounding like a stand-up guy, but “think long, think wrong”. Especially hitching your wagon to Cal & Stanford’s decision. Even if they decide to expand the PAC, they will declare themselves the Big Dogs and OSU & Wazzu wind up in the same situation as they were in.

  9. Personally, I don’t get all this hand-wringing over cal & Stanford needing to be in a major conference because “Olympic/non-football-basketball sports”. Stanford has had success in football (I don’t follow basketball, so no clue there), so have the go B1G (or wherever) in those sports, sort of like Notre Dame. Cal… meh, let the go MWC or independent if that’s beneath them.

Realistically, this realignment fiasco has to do with football and basketball. At least until football goes minor-league pro model. The same for basketball, since it’s basically a one-and-done deal with a few exceptions.  As far as the Olympic sports go, create an organization to cover those sports. It is going to come down to the big boys who are serious about football & basketball, and everyone else. Why waste money and brain cells on how to make the “non-elites” happy?  But what do I know?

Did Cal rape your corn hole or something? You seem pretty hostile towards the place

Speaking as an alumnus from the 80’s and a member of the Band, fuck Cal Berkeley and their fans. They were and continue to be the rudest, most obnoxious fan base in a conference that includes Oregon and ucla (sorry sbbruin, had to do it).  I’ve had frozen oranges thrown at me while performing, shit thrown at our mascot Traveler, pit smoke filling the bathrooms like it was high school, you name it. All with the air of “we’re Cal, we’re so much more superior to you a the other UC schools”. If they actually won something, then I could deal with the arrogance. They had a big hand in killing the PAC and preventing a Texas/BlowU move, so it can’t be said enough… fuck cal

  11. I have to wonder if Klownikoff is looking at potential legal liability for the bullshit he fed the gullible left-behinds? I’m doubtful, but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to screw Cal or Stanford out of money considering their alumni base. I know, if they cared, the schools wouldn’t need the cash (although Tree has more money than God).

It’s one thing to make a bad deal out of incompetence, it’s another to deliberately pull the “checks in the mail” crap.

I don’t know why SC fans get the rep of entitled snobs.  Wait.  I do.

Yeah that was worded poorly, my apologies. The point I was trying to make (badly) was that having juice in the PAC is going to mean Jack in the BIG12. They are going into a good-old-boys club that could give a tinker’s damn about the PAC. Utah has already stepped in it. Pretty much the same case if USC thinks they are going to run the B1G.

Crow just lost all of his PAC12 political power in ASU's move to the B12.  That's the reason for his ridiculous childish temper tantrum.

Being THAT technology-ignorant and drawing attention to it? “The digitization (?) of our games that you can view anywhere in the world and manipulate…”

Live-streaming mofo… ever hear of it? Ever hear of a pause button?  A President doesn’t have to be tech-savvy, but I would think they have an IT department or a grandkid to say “dude, 2007 called”

So, are ASU and UU already planning their exit from strategy from the BIG 12? Or is there one?  They sure as hell did not want to be affiliated with, as they like to call it, the "Truck Stop Conference." I could see them being two turds in the new punchbowl given the statements made upon joining. Fuck 'em. Hard. Repeat.

They are going to learn a hard lesson going from the wine and cheese fart-sniffers in the PAC to the BIG12. Utah has a history of success that goes back a whole 5 years, and asu is asu.

I mean, who knew, right? I only have relatives and friends who went there and to Stanford. Seems like I needed the opinions of a few people who never even set foot in the state to correct my misconceptions!
