I was banned from commenting on The Athletic a few months ago because I called an OU fan a fucking dumbass for insisting Muschamp 2.0 would be an improvement over Riley.  The jilted ex-girlfriends have been flooding the comments sections of every USC article on that site ever since they lost Riley and I finally got fed up with it.  Anyways, I Googled "college football message board where I can call OU fans fucking dumbasses without getting banned" and it led me here.

This is one of, if not the best boards around. I used the lurk on the old Shag board, the place was comedy gold.

Go through some old threads to get a feel for the posters. They are a very knowledgeable bunch of assholes. Even the bruin, sbbruin, is a good guy, poor choice of school notwithstanding. Just remember we are guests here and it’s all good. ✌️

question for the gallery: why doesn't phil just create the nike network and pay domer $100m a year to join with the remnants of the pac?  part 2: move SDSU football permanently to SoFi, relabel the school Southland State University and build them an LA campus to support the Football Team?   If I were Phil, that's what I would do.  Otherwise it's duck season.

Not sure this is a serious post, but I’ll bite:

    1. Uncle Phil is not running Nike as CEO anymore, and corporate is not going to give $100m to play who exactly?

    2. You are proposing moving a California State University campus ~120 miles north in the center of 5 other campuses so they can rent SoFi, not to mention becoming a stand-alone school?

put down the crack pipe and step away from the keyboard

The Big12 needs to take 4corners and skip all the other pac schools. They aren’t draws, and if left out, they lose all leverage for Cali recruiting. They will either. That gives B12 a nice middle nation conference. The pnw schools will have issues with Baylor and Texas/Oklahoma in general.

Uncle Phil/Nike won’t allow the ducks to be left out

I wish the B1g and sec would just tell ND to fuck off in any playoff scenario.  Why do we have to account for them?

Ideally, that would happen if the Domers try to get too cute and flex on the B1G & SEC. It won’t happen for some unknown reason, but they may be in for a rude awakening as far as brand value goes in the modern market.

Why does Notre Dame get to extract a pound of flesh over games that they aren't in? I don't get that part. Did NBC get bent over a rail on an exclusive agreement they have to pay to get out of?

Because they are Notre Dame and they are special /sarcasm

Seems to me you're better off basically keeping all of the remaining PAC schools (so keep Wazzu and OSU instead of SDSU and UNLV), and maybe take all of the existing Big 12 without the new additions (maybe keep Cincy and BYU?).  But just create a new league.  It wouldn;t be SEC or B1G, but it'd be a good league.

Not to mention the fact that it is highly doubtful Cal, Stanford, and possibly Washington and Arizona would want to be lumped in with SDSU & UNLV, academically. And yes I get the irony of Oregon State & ASU being in the PAC, those were state-mandated “take your little brother with you” deals. One of the criteria for PAC membership was (key word) being an academic research institution, the UC schools, USC, Stanford, UO, UW, etc..

Yes I know those days are over, the world is now about $$$ and market share. So all bets are off, but I would be shocked if Cal & Stanford agree to be merged with a Cal State school. Stanford in particular just DGAF, they have a metric fuckton of money and would just hold out until the B1G came calling.

So Governor HairGel is pissed he didn’t get a taste of the action?  Did Kal run to daddy in order to get an invite to the B1G? Other than Bay Area eyes (which I would guess is nil in football, I don’t care enough to check their ratings), they bring nothing to the table. If the Regents somehow throw a wrench in the deal, the B1G will just say “ Notre Dame… come on down!”

I’m not sure how intertwined UCLA is with the UC Regents financially due to construction projects for athletics. I would think facility construction financing goes through the Regents and not UCLA itself.

I’m sure sbbruin has more insight than I do on this.

UcLA is messed up financially.  They have to rent?

That’s how it works with some of the State schools, some facilities are designated “profit centers”, and charge for usage. When I worked at Cal State Long Beach, they had opened The Pyramid, where indoor sports played. I don’t know if the athletic teams had to pay, but everyone else was charged rent. It just depends on how the building was financed.

Hey faget, I would LOVE it if anyone here gave 2 shits about cfb.  Yeah, I'm in your hood, dumbfuck.  I had a great time fucking your wife, but I'm glad cfb scores get you hard.  Did I call you a faget yet?

Wow, you got 4 of the 6 letters right in “faget”, pretty impressive for a gooner.  Relax Francis, I get you’re still tender from the strap-on Dirty Sanchez she gave you, she apologizes for not giving you the donkey punch beforehand.

I didn’t think it was possible to put so many words together and make zero sense. The entire board is stupider for having read your post. Grab Stoops bag-of-dicks and chow down.

Add the one for USC.  Still behind buddy.  tOSU behind too.  Use the link, it’s your friend.

Since reading is a foreign concept to land thieves:
    1992 USC 20 dirt burglars 10

    1988 USC  23 dick eaters 7

    1982 USC 12  trailer trash 0

    1981 USC 28 hillbillies 24

    1973 USC 7 oklahomos 7

    1971 USC 20 cock gobblers 33

    1964 USC 14 methheads 40

    1964 USC 12 knob gobblers 17

And last but not least, since you want to pretend it didn’t happen… 55-19 bitches

Serious question but do they have any linemen that are any good on either side of the ball?  I know they lost a lot of guys but their recruiting class shows 8 commits for '22 and 3 for '23 with no linemen.  All skill guys, primarily on offense.

They did grab 1 OL in the portal I believe. Yeah the OL was rubbish, mainly due to poor coaching and development. They did seem to improve later in the season where they were able to establish a running game (or at least what sort of resembled a running game under Harrell & HeWhoShallNoLongerBeNamed).

Snagging a mobile QB will help paper over the line deficiencies. Dart was mobile, but injured his knee early on. We shall see

Per a sportsbybrooks report, carol folt, the president , killed it

Pretty much true, though not reported on heavily. After the Tyndall fiasco and settlement, USC hired Carol Folt to clean up the mess. Considering her tenure at UNC, there was ZERO chance any huge moves were going to be made, particularly with Meyer’s background. So, we were stuck with an-shucks Gomes Helton. And yet we just hired a land-thief, so what the hell do I know?

Donte Williams, CB coach, is the most interesting name here.

Grinch has been a DB coach most of his career. The staff also has Roy Manning, who was coaching CB at OU. Donte Williams may be the best DB coach of the bunch and is best recruiter. Williams was the contact for Domani Jackson (5-star recruit) who just committed to the Trojans. The proper business decision would be to keep Williams, but Grinch and Manning followed Riley to USC. Williams was the one USC coach I was hoping OU would have gone after.

Have you SEEN the abomination that is the USC secondary? Players out of position, poor technique and zero tackling ability. Those are William’s players. He may be a “recruiter”, but has honestly shown little as a position coach.
This nonsense about keeping or promoting a coach for no other reason than his recruiting ability is rubbish. Make them a “recruiting specialist” or something, but judge their coaching separately. From USC’s perspective, this is the same thing that happened with Tee Martin. He could recruit, but as a receiver coach (yeah he was a quarterback) he was sub-par. So what did they do? They made him the Offensive Coordinator to keep him happy, which turned out as well as you would think.

Riley needs to clean house completely to right the ship. If players are butthurt about it, have a nice life. Not like they were setting the world on fire.

Do you have evidence that OJ Simpson did not murder people while he attended USC?

I was going to come up with a clever reply to keep the joke going, but being a resident of the L.A. area during that shitstorm, and watching the morons cheering his acquittal, it sickens me to see his smug face not dangling from a rope.

    carry on

You know, this was a debate on a radio show out here a few months ago.  Is Oklahoma the midwest, or the south?  I've always kinda thought midwest, but to be honest, haven't given the state of Oklahoma whole lot of thought in my lifetime.

I doubt either region wants to claim that shithole. Let’s just call it hell and leave it at that.

That is a bit of a question mark about Riley.  What kind of "culture" he instills.  That part of OU was ready-made for him.

That he shitcanned Mike Stoops at the earliest? possible? opportunity perhaps speaks well.  Hard to say.

I’m betting Orlan_o is busy updating his résumé as we speak

Crazy part is that (hate to say this) USC's current roster is probably already better than what SARK now has at Texas

The QB Dart is better, the WRs are better, TE's better, and I'm guessing the rest of USC's current roster as a whole > current Horns roster...

Texas is a huge fuckin' rebuild...

    smdh 😠

The OLine is pathetic, soft and no nastyness. The D is an abomination to football. LB corp with no football IQ (out of position, bad angles), secondary not worth mentioning.

Much like y’all are experiencing, there is a huge culture problem with the team. A good number of players have no business wearing the USC uniform. ClayDoh fostered an environment of softness.

Coach Riley has his work cut out for him next year. His first act needs to be blowing up the dead weight, players and staff.
