I'm considering purchasing undeveloped land for my school from one of our parents. Great location, and I think I could get a good price. How do I go about pricing water, sewer, streets, etc? Who do I even call for something like this? I don't want to necessarily get in bed with a builder when that's probably 5-7 years away, but I need to get some idea of what the land will ultimately cost.
What kind of rates would you think I'd be looking at for owner financing?

Belton. Small city. Largish county of 375k.

There are kids involved, it won't be handled safely. Like the meme going around, there are going to be kids licking their hands, screaming "CORONAVIRUS" and chasing other kids around.
But it could mean some parents get back to work.
I’m a private school administrator and had a meeting with our county’s health authority today. She said it’s just not behaving like other viruses with respect to children. It’s infinitely more likely a teacher would infect a kid rather than the other way around. Kids ARE getting the virus but they are not giving the virus. Their parents are bringing it home. -
My 7 year old daughter has been misquoting Hamilton after every chore.
Me: “thanks for unloading the dishwasher!”
Her: “Hypocrites—we get the job done.”
Me: “Do you mean immigrants?”
Her: “No, I’ve always lived here!”- 2

there's no marina, so i guess it would be a pain to pull it in and out of the water to refuel and store.

it's high right now, so no danger of hitting trees. you do need to know where the trees are during a drought.

If you’re not there, who’s going to do check ins/outs, service the boat, refuel, etc?
my parents or siblings. would probably be a family biz.

this article on vrbo for boats is the one that got me wondering

I've been trying to rent some watercraft to use on Lake Nacogdoches, and evidently no one is doing that there now (though i vaguely remember someone doing that when I was in high school). Since my parents live on the lake, I'm wondering if it'd be easy to buy a boat and rent it out on the weekends we aren't there. Anyone done anything like that before? I assumed the insurance is cost-prohibitive and that's why no one does it, but there's plenty of rentals on other lakes so maybe just an untapped market?
Talk me out of it.

I'm not understanding the logic in delaying the school start by just a few weeks. Has there been any indication that we are close to a peak? I have not seen anything that would suggest this will die down in the least without another shelter-in-place or vaccine. So unless the schools are prepared to shut down entirely until we have a vaccine, what is the three weeks going to do?

Where in the hell are they getting those projected death #’s for kids? I know damn sure it’s not 1%. Trying to scare all the parents.
From China. In a Chinese study of 72314 COVID19 cases published in Feburary in China, 549 of those 72k cases were in children aged 10-19. One child died which results in a case fatality rate of .18% with a confidence interval of 95% (meaning that the case fatality rate could be as low as .03% or as high as 1.02%). Dr. Escott has
exploitedextrapolated this single child's death in China in January to imply that between 40 and 1,370 children will die in Travis County if schools reopen. It's absurd and appalling, and that's coming from someone who supports the schools staying closed. No clue how to disseminate this perspective without sounding like a fake news trumpkin, though.

Eating good tonight! (If i can keep them alive, that is.)- 7

Just buy the 2pack next time you are at H-E-B and give them a try. The texture is so smooth when you chew it. I’ve never had a better burger. Be careful if you grill them though. Keep them off of direct flame as the generate a lot of grease and can burn very easily.
I tried them tonight on the egg and they stuck horribly even on an clean oiled grate. Have never had that happen with 80/20 burgers before. I guess theyre almost pate like. Did not like. -
22 people slept through that? and not in the middle of the night but 6am? was everyone in that one house?
Yep! Most all of us had box fans on for white noise. -
The good thing is if the bear comes back looking for a meal with a heartbeat, all you've got to to is be the 20th quickest person there
Yeah I may be cutting it close based on my performance in yesterday’s kickball game. Time to ramp up the fartleks. #pushing40 -
So you never heard anything, like the sounds a bear would make going through your fridge
No I sleep through anything. Can’t figure out how it didn’t wake up my other 21 family members though. He ate two loaves of bread, 18 brioche rolls, three boxes of cereal, that giant bag of dots pretzels, three cartons of ice cream, uncorked an open bottle of wine, etc.- 1

You have split upper and lower door fridge? Can’t say I’ve seen one of those.
This is two fridges next to one another. We are in a family reunion cabin at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park.- 1

That is the mildest unsportsmanlike conduct offense I’ve ever seen.
