Catalon led the team in tackles with 7? He had a bunch of missed ones too.
-
Yeah I’m pretty sure it was a drawn-up play. Sark reacted like he was thinking “it worked!” So great.
Chefs kiss for sark- 1

And Conner had the smartest play of the game, squeezing his hand to draw Bama offside late. Absolutely a genius play.
Quinn clapped too and all night they used that as their snap signal -
Oline was the biggest improvement of the night. Hats off to those guys. They stoned bama.

He's not even close to be fully weaponized. He's still covered in baby fat.
It ain’t baby fat, he is bulking and putting on muscle so he’s running a surplus. By next year he’ll be a monster. He has great hand placement and his length is a weapon. He could really become like aiden Hutchinson or whatever -
David Gbenda getting knocked down then hopping back up to sack Milroe was damn impressive too
Gbenda had several stand out plays tonight, but he does needs to work on covering rb wheel routes though…- 1

This D is sick this year. There were a few mistakes tonight but whatever they needed to do to turn pass pressure into sacks, that happened. Burke is a huge upgrade and might be the best player on our d line. That wasn’t expected coming out of camp. Hill is so fast and has such skill at getting to the qb. This team looks like it has 12 draftable players this year.
Thoughts in catalon though? Saw him flying around missing tackles a lot. I think he might have been too turnt up since this was his first real game back and it was such an intense moment -
So it turns out that sark does know what he is doing. Not a surprise to anyone that pays attention to the right things and doesn’t get distracted. Fuck yea!!!

Dude we are all lucky that we woke up in this universe where today happened, and not that shitty one where the reverse happened. Shout out to us in that universe bc we’re really going through a hard time over there right now. But over here it is fucking alright alright alright!!!

welp, i've done the thing where i've convinced myself today is the day we're actually back.

Is this the game thread, no retarded title? I have to say I am fucking excited for today. All day I’ve had nervous energy. So I mowed my yard, then I lifted weights. Then I went to the store and bought shit for my wings and sausage meal plan. Now I’m drinking, and I love drinking, and soon…oh soon….I will be rejoicing in aggy misery. And then the big moment. The game I’ve been waiting for. I love the fall. Deep breath KPW deep breaths.

They probably didn't watch a single snap of the Alabama game, because that was not an OL that was dominant at all. Our defense has a major advantage over the Alabama offense.
DL vs OL = advantage Texas, we can play 10+ deep
LB vs RB = couldn't run that well against Middle Tennessee State, not much in the passing game either
DB vs WR = They return pretty much the same bunch of WRs last year that our DBs smothered.
OC vs DC = Kwiatkowski has the personnel he has dreamed about since he took over the Texas job. The ND guy is mid.
Their lone WC is their QB, who turned the ball over 3 times last year against aggy in his lone start against somewhat equal talent.

A lot riding tomorrow. Imagine a world where we go into opening nfl Sunday after watching aggy get beat by Miami and then watching Texas best bama. Pretty sweet. But then imagine a world where it’s reverse. Not good. There is about to be a multiverse split between these two worlds and I damn sure hope that tomorrow morning I wake up in the first version of my story.

The “Texas doesn’t develop talent” honks are going to have to find some new material here shortly. Texas is about to have 7+ guys go in the 2024 draft and might have the most drafted of any team in the country in this cycle.
I’d like to think that the data will bring that shit to a halt, but I also know there are flat-earthers and l saw a guy jogging with a mask on this morning in my neighborhood, so it’s probably wishful thinking. There are stupid people everywhere and certainly a high concentration of them covering college football.
I agree. Wins and draft numbers follow all the process stuff the coaches can control like recruiting & coaching, etc.
Sark has been doing everything right, and the wins will follow and the draft stats will follow those.
There is something to be said for the value that stability and consistency in a football staff brings. Similar to having a healthy program full of upperclassmen. -
Saw a stat where of that 30, 10 are UFA.
Not surprised, that was the source of my overlooked comment. The goal is to draft players that succeed and teams took busts instead of our guys that succeed.- 1

I think we’ve been producing overlooked talent. Funny how we, as a school where talent goes to die, have developed players into successful NFLers more than so many other schools that don’t have that reputation.- 4

Now Tyron Smith is got an ankle and might not play. Thanks for the o line depth Jerry!
Roster is sick everywhere else though. Bring back peters as a spare plug.
They should have had faith in Ferguson and hendershot and gone guard instead of schoonmaker. I think that’s the biggest takeaway from the draft.
Mazi looks ok so far, and I’m sure he will improve while immediately helping us situationally, but I thought we were deep at DT and we cut bouhana who seemed like he provided about as much as mazi. Hankins provides about as much as mazi.
Here is to hoping asim Richard’s pans out as a steal -
What I’d like to know is how much all this work would cost if we just cold called a company.
-
If we do win, I cant wait for the threads that say “Sip won by 5, so that means we will win by 20!”
If we win it will mean bama isn’t good anymore.- 1

I hate when sports guys learn a new word and wear it out. Momentum is the recruiting word. Grabbing momentum doesn't even make sense. Grab the advantage. Take the lead. Something just to mix it up a little bit.
Coach Prime is this year's broadcast sports idiot mantra. Sportswriters are the dumbest people in the world paid to write. Sportscasters are almost as dumb. Scratch that. They're dumber.
Last week, I heard one color guy take the wisdom voice to say, "When you need a big play you go to your playmakers." They really ought to hire funny people instead of "experts." I heard Romo do part of a game last year, and he was good, but that's the exception. Use Don Meredith as the standard.
If you remember our last head coach said there was no such thing as momentum.
This is tricky, there is momentum in a game and it can swing from one team to another, so then it can be taken or grabbed.
But recruiting is often described as if it is some process, like a horse race between schools. It isn’t, it is just some teenager’s decision. Not really such a thing as momentum in making up your mind about something.- 1

Work began today. Cleared some dead trees, started prepping the ground for a deck, and started chipping away the old plaster.

Have people gone back and rewatched the 1st half possessions carefully? Most of the blame is on missed blocking assignments. I think ewers is getting a bad shake on this board. We had 7 possession in the first half.
1: ewers tripped, low throw to sanders on 4th down. This TOD is on ewers.
2: brooks long screen for a td
3: 1st deep ball should have been dpi, 0 gain Baxter run, OL failed on 3rd down - QE should have stepped up and thrown but tried to squeeze through and run and was tackled.
4: 2nd deep not even close to ad made irrelevant from a defensive offsides, nice slant to worthy to get into red zone: then bad run, followed by ewers bootleg out of bounds, and a dropped td by brooks-fg
5:long cb4 run, got to 21yd line then: bad run, good throw to JT in end zone almost a great td (great deep ball by ewers here), false start on 52 followed by a 3rd & forever deep middle throw that sailed and went incomplete-fg
6:worthy stepped oob cost us a 1st down, good brooks run, followed by brooks stopped on 3rd up the middle, 4th&1or2 run but ad missed block and rb was stuffed . TOD
7:get the ball on the 3yd line with 4:25 and somehow run out of time…two bad missed deep shots in this possession. Bunch of missed blocks. Fg- 1

Suppose the decision by and ultimately picks for zina are related to the decision by Mckinly?

I didn’t see a single at post before the game that they expected we’d be bama bc bama is trash and this is the worst bama team under saban . But yet now that we won all those things are apparently the truth? Lol. I hope bama rolls this year
