Articles like that are exactly why this is happening. Engel and others like him helped create this eventuality but they'll never realize that. They created, fostered, and amplified the environment where Tech and the other second tier schools never bothered to improve themselves and lift themselves into the first tier because it was UT's job to protect them. Meanwhile they constantly complained about UT and ripped the school and athletic department in the press at every opportunity. Which, of course, damaged UT's reputation (albeit slightly) at every step which meant that UT was weaker than it otherwise would have been and less able to protect Tech and the others.
So, basically, UT is in an abusive relationship with 8 deadbeats. Sounds about right. The only great thing about being cast as the villain is you're not responsible for the suffering of others when you leave.

Can someone please educate me on why the cultural fit card is being played citing we will not be a good fit in the SEC?
It's like they've never met a Vandy grad. Vanderbilt alums look down at SMU and Baylor alums like they dropped out of Prairie View. The only non-Ivy alums I've met that are worse are Rice grads.

Is this a joke? He will get a free master’s degree funded by football, be it at UT or elsewhere.
He was already on track to graduate early, as that’s a decision that had to be made pretty early on given the additional course load each semester and summers in order to get four years into three. At this juncture, why would he not? It's probably nothing, but WTF else do we have to gossip about.

Maybe he’s graduating because he has completed the requirements to graduate.
That's completely possible, but no fun to speculate about.

Your whole posting on this is way off. No one has to sit out this year or get a waiver, and it’s always been known he’d be a grad transfer by this summer. Nothing has changed, and the situation has been obvious the whole time. There’s a reason Card didn’t get a single snap with the ones the entire spring game.
Depends on how you look at it. What you're telling me is that Texas is doing everything it can to keep him here and make it look like he's QB1. You're also telling me he could still insta-transfer without graduating and that his ability to graduate by the summer was a known situation forever. Basically, this was foreseeable and meaningless.
But my perspective is that if you don't have to graduate to transfer, why graduate? It's like packing a suitcase. It doesn't mean you're leaving, and you could always leave without the suitcase, but it sure makes it hard to argue you don't want to leave.

He gets a free transfer regardless. Not sure how it changes the calculus.
Grad transfers don't have to apply for the COVID exemption, though. It's an interesting choice for a backup who wants to be the starter, that's all.

Grad Transfer with 2 years' eligibility? I'd be interested in seeing what offers might fly in the window this next couple of months, were I in those shoes...
It definitely puts the writing on the wall if he's leapfrogged by Card.

Agreed on all this, no question Bonitto seemed to be leaning our way until FCB's hit piece. As for why CDC uses FCB as a mouthpiece? Probably some Sun Tzu level shit going on there..
Based on all accounts, including someone I know who has met CDC a couple of times, CDC is the ultimate people person. We haven't had someone like him in the program since Mack Brown.
I think part of CDC's relationship with FCB is keeping an enemy close. But the other part of it is CDC probably thinks he can run FCB, so long as nobody else feeds him anything. The staff is all pros from top to bottom, so Chip Brown is literally fucked. He has to be a good boy or he's toast.

Sam rocking a GMT Master II? Nice watch.
Pretty sure that's a Submariner. The bezel insert is in minutes, not 24 hours.

When will we know which teams have what players for this game? I did read that it was going to be basically team orange vs team white with split roster and more game like than some weird format.
They've announced that teams will be picked and that it will be normal football scoring (team vs. team). No live kicking, just offense vs. defense.

Death by bufu, one would hope.

Man, Leitao is a major success story for our program that nobody else will even know about. He came very close to not even going to college. Now he's going to med school after three and a half years of Division I Football. Amazing!

You can’t write a worse scenario than this when you had the opportunity to trade him for first round picks and opt to wait a little bit. Then this breaks. I don’t know of any other city as sports cursed as Houston. Good lord.
I actually think the Texans knew about this months ago, way before the trade demand. The Texans hiring Caserio and Culley without buy-in from Watson, and some of the other strangeness around the coaching search, make a lot more sense if Cal and Easterby knew this thing was going to blow up during the off-season. Once they knew about the scandal, you can't really trade him. It would open you up to massive sanctions by the NFL if you were to not disclose it, and if you did disclosed it there's a good chance that the NFL blocks the trade. If they knew, and it makes too much sense that they did, you just can't trade him away and screw his next team.

I don't understand the fetish, but either he's too stupid to just hire actual prostitutes to roleplay the massage, or it has to be real for him. He's not going to have evidence of consent for all these girls.
It's a really fucked up situation. Rusty Hardin must have gotten PAID. I'm talking 7 figures up front, easily.
The thing is, you've gotta pick a direction and go with it, and it appears they've gone with (mostly) consent. There must be too much corroborating evidence out there that they know about to stick with a pure fabrication defense.

Sure. My only caveat to this is why was he still trolling on Instagram for massage therapists after he knew he was getting sued?
Their defense is going to be that he has a fetish and all these girls consented to participating in the fetish. They can't run from his weird sex addiction. All they can do at this point is argue consent and make these girls look like prostitutes. I'm guessing the strategy at this point is to lean into it and hope that Watson can pull a Louis CK and make a comeback when most of the anger blows over and the media moves on to the next pervert/rapist. It's friggin' ugly, but this isn't Rusty's first sex case. They're all friggin' ugly.

"Amazingly, Hardin’s team voluntarily disclosed this communication, which otherwise was confidential and never meant for public consumption. It shows that Watson’s representatives viewed the claims made by Ashley Solis as something that weren’t frivolous but that instead provided a useful opportunity to teach Watson a 'lesson about having put himself in this situation.'"
Hardin is going to spin this as "don't put yourself in a situation to get extorted or exploited." Sort of like the NBA teaching rookies to make sure to take the used condom with them after shagging a groupie.

A good friend of mine from high school was murdered less than 2 years after we graduated. She had just broken up with her boyfriend, who apparently had been very controlling and abusive. He went to her work, shot her in the face, then shot himself in the head. The saddest part, the murderer was the older brother of another girl who I graduated with and knew well since 6th grade. They were good friends as well, and she introduced the couple.

All I wanted for Christmas was an XBox One X. The wife bought me a watch instead. Microsoft is saying they won't be in stock regularly until June at the very least.

I don't want to spoil anything, but good recovery from the "embarrassing incident" story at Whataburger to breakfast cereal and sugar babies. His sugar baby story was the funniest part of the 'cast. Well, that and "3rd and 17."

That doesn't stop James Harden from making it rain every time he's in Atlanta, Miami, or any other city known for their big-booty stripper scene.
