I spent 10+ years in sales then managing national accounts.  So, lots of time on the road.  What you're describing was commonly referred to as the "Hampton Inn Pit Stop".  In the front door like you own the place, take care of business, slide out the side door.  Nobody uses the lobby restroom at a hotel.  Absolutely spotless 99% of the time.

There are few things better than waltzing into a hotel you're not staying at and obliterating the nearly-always freshly cleaned bathroom in total privacy without a soul around.... but you're missing one small thing....   and that is when you walk out, they thank you. Epic.

  2. Despite being a regular contributor to these threads in the past, I really did have a good run going over the last year. Apart from a truly catastrophic shart that cost me my underwear and my long johns around this time last winter, it had been smooth sailing and I had been shart-free for about a year. I had gotten a handle on things and corrected some lifestyle habits (beer and bean and cheese tacos on the same day seemed to be a major culprit). Well, that all came to an end as my slightly hungover self was walking up the stairs with my morning coffee. Pushing off on the last step at the top of the landing, I decided to let a little air out and.... splat! Full bowlegged waddle to the bathroom, disrobing after a major league home run shot that blasted through both underwear and pants alike.

Stepping into the shower I was thinking WTF? Where in the hell did that come from?!  Then I started reconstructing yesterday's events.....

    1. You f'n judged at a chili cookoff yesterday, Marfa. You judged F'N BEANS at the final table, Marfa.
    2. You drank a f'n 12 pack at the contest you dumb shit and then your drunk ass ate a pint of gotdamn icecream before you passed out.

I have no one and I mean NO ONE to blame but myself.

AFAIK admins aren’t visible to non admins. Nothing to worry about.

Ah! I was added straight to admin so I never really saw the page as a regular user. Everything I see on my end shows the full name and FB link to the person who was making posts before. Thanks a lot for the clarification and response

  4. I've recently taken over the facebook account for a business I've started managing. I'm set up as an admin but I don't want my name and personal facebook account visible to the page users. My personal facebook account is my own private life and I  want that separate from my job. I'm not finding a way to change this in any way? What do I do... set up a new FB account separate from my personal one and use that? Any help appreciated.

  5. #1 Passing offense in the country
Top 10 in scoring and a 1000 yard rusher and 1500 yard receiver.
I'd expect the Okie State game plan on steroids and executed better; minimal running and bombs away at our secondary.

My guess is we'll need to score at least 35 to win this. Good news is we can.

I need to accept there are certain things I just can't eat unless I go straight home.

Vietnamese Pho does that to me. Learned this the hard way of course, I think I documented the story on a past shart thread.
Yes, Pho has cost me two pairs of underwear, a pair of socks, and an undershirt so it's risky business eating it without a plan.
I'll only eat it within two miles of the house or where I'm staying if I'm out of town. As an added precaution, because you just never know,  I also scope out the restaurant bathroom
before I order. If the bathroom is dodgy I order something else.  It's a guaranteed full blown vacating of the bowels so I can never be too cautious.

    Because people asked....

    ------------------------------------

After much deliberation, I will reluctantly tell the story of my family touring the Christmas lights in Waco last week.

My wife told me about this thing at the beginning of December. To be honest I had forgotten all about it until the night before. I did not want to go. Call me a scrooge but riding around looking at electricity captured in colored bulbs is not my idea of entertainment. However, the kids were looking forward to it and apparently at some point I had agreed to do it.

This little tour got us for 6 bucks a head. My wife, her parents, our 4 kids and I all went. Now I wasn’t a math major but that's $48 to ride around in a trolley and look at lights. WTF? (I found this out the day of)

So we drive all the way the hell to downtown Waco and sit and wait for this trolley to take us on the tour. They’ve got a tree, Santa, hot cocoa- All that shit. Finally all the trolleys roll up and Shaquandra our official Christmas lights tour guide hops out and says “Y’all going to look at the lights?....(pause) Okay den let’s get our roll on!”

My initial gripe is that the bitch is driving at mach speed and you can’t see shit but a blurry-ass Santa and the occasional Wal-Mart $9.99 wire light-up reindeer. My father-in-law asks if she could slow down a bit so that we could take pictures and appreciate the lights a little more..(his words not mine). By this time I’ve already leaned over and whispered in my wife’s ear “$48 for this shit?”  She gives me the obligatory elbow and “stop being like that”

We roll along for about 15 minutes looking at every tacky piece of shit overkill light extravaganza in East Waco. Suddenly we get on the highway and start heading to the other side of town. We ride for a good 12-15 minutes without seeing a single damn house decorated. So I lean over to the wife again and say “umm where the hell are we going?”
Elbow “shut up” and all that again. Shaquandra has Mariah Carey’s Christmas cd blasting and we just getting our roll on...and then it happened.

Signs and streets started to look really familiar. My oldest daughter says “hey there’s HEB.” As in the HEB right down the road from our house (approx. 1/2 mile)
I lean over to the wife again “This bitch better not turn right at this light!”
What does the driver do????? That’s right folks, fucking turns right and heads right to our neighborhood. Not only our neighborhood “BUT OUR FUCKING STREET!!

I am just at a loss for words by this point. I cannot believe this is happening. Street after street, house after house for a good 30 minutes. The driver is going on and on about “oooh like over thurr- look at the Santa up on the roof kids.” I know bitch “I'M THE ONE THAT FUCKING PUT HIS FAT ASS UP THERE LAST WEEK"

I can’t type this anymore it's just too painful. The point is, we spent almost $50 to look at the Christmas lights in our own damn neighborhood. My wife just hung her head in shame. I’ll be in charge of Christmas spirit next year thank you very much.

This absolutely f'n delivered. Thank you

I had some original recipe Schlitz 7-8 years ago in Minnesota. It was really good. They were the top selling beer for a good while post-WII, but the corporate geniuses were sold on the idea on cutting corners with a new recipe to maximize profits. Within a generation, they were out of business. There was also an ill-timed labor strike that hurt them badly (going by memory on most of this).

I used to buy Shiner Premium, but for some reason, I thought they had rebranded it as Shiner Blonde (which I can’t even find up here). If I find Premium, how do I know it’s the original, or is everything labeled Premium back to the original recipe?

Awesome post, thanks. I did know about losing market share and cost cutting, did not know about the labor strike. Re: Shiner Premium, they did re-brand it briefly as Blonde back in the late 90's iirc. It's sold as just Shiner Premium these days but they don't make a lot of it and it can be hard to find outside of the state. Shiner does have a beer finder app on their website so you can check availability in your area. Spec's has been pretty good about carrying it. Here's what you're looking for in either can or bottle.
